My Last Post for SCACD

This year has been a bear at work from the beginning and it's not looking like it will let up, so I've decided to step down from my DT position.  I wish it didn't come down to this.

The SCACD DT sisters are tops and I will miss their love & creations!  Susana has been so kind & supportive & generous.  I will continue to follow & purchase from SCACD - due to Susana's top notch service and the awesome products she carries - from stamps to the ultra fab mixed media stuff she brings in!

So today's post & creation are dedicated to Susana & the DT sisters!

I've been wanting to do a layout for a while now, but never found the time.  I created this in the wee hours of this morning.  Wish I could have done more (I'm kicking myself now thinking I should have added "this" and "that", lol).  And sorry for the dark photos - the sun was not quite up when I snapped them.

I'm not sure what 12x12 paper I used as my background - it was a distressed white/yellow sheet.  I began by using my Dylusions Ink Sprays over Dylusions stencils (Number Jumble and Letter Jumble) and Crafter's Workshop Circle Explosion & Chicken Wire stencils.  Using various Memento inkpads, I stamped images from The Rays and Steampunk Clock Set and the  Blank Canvas Wings Set.  Using VersaMark Ink, I stamped a Blank Canvas Profiles image and embossed with Black Embossing Powder.  Over that, I sprayed "Lemon Zest" Dylusion Ink Spray.  I love the Dylusions Ink Sprays!  I have quite a few other sprays/spritzes, but they don't show well over/through stencils...and I totally love the vibrant colors!

I then went to town decorating and adding anything/everything, lol.  Lots of Tim Holtz goodness (Idea-Ology Mini Metal Gears, tapes, pearl charm, hanger, trims), Almanac Wood Buttons, Printery Clay Art Tiles, Hero Arts trims spritzed with Dylusions Ink Sprays, a Maya Road Vintage Pearl Butterfly Pin, huge brads poked through tulle from my stash, and various other trims from my stash.  A lot of the items were rubbed with Distress Inks.  Oh and a scrissors from the Maya Road "Sew Cute" Mini Chipboard Set which was painted over with Viva Decor "Silver" Precious Metals Paint.

I created the "Heart" letters by using chipboad letters, applying Claudine Hellmuth Studio Gesso, then painting with Luminarte Silks "Teal Zircon" and "Black Ice".  When dry, I then went over the entire letters with Luminarte Silks "Ice" for overall shimmer.  A piece of Idea-Ology Ball Chain was attached to the layout below the letters.  The sentiment from Dylusions "Quintessential Quotes" was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto white cardstock, cut out, rubbed with distress inks, then adhered to the layout.

I used a Martha Stewart doily border punch on parts of the paper, then ripped the rest of the borders, distressed like crazy, and used "Black Soot" and "Vintage Photo" distress inks on them.  I then adhered to a black Bazzill 12x12 cardstock.  The last thing I did was create pearls of varying sizes using my Viva Decor "Anthracite" Pearl Pen.  I think that's it, lol.

I love ya Susana & DT sisters!  You will forever be in my heart!

Monster Mash

Today for my card I used the recently released Monster Mash by Susana Loves Stamps.  This cutie just makes me smile! I colored her with my copics and then cut her out using my nestabilities

I masked the image and sponged on some ink while it was still in the nestabilites die. My paper is My Mind’s Eye- Indie Chic- Saffron, which is 25% off right now at SCACD! I added buttons threaded with scrappers floss and some stickles and the sentiment (that comes with Monster Mash) to finish the card--just pretend it’s straight.

Little Morticia

I haven't made an ATC in some time and loved having the opportunity and inspiration to do so.  This cutie is Little Morticia from the Little Sassy Crew .  This entire stamp set is fabulous, you should check it out.

After coloring her up, I used paper from the new Authentique Enchanted set to create the background.  The feathers are from Petaloo and are cruelty free and come in lots of great colors!  Loving having feathers to play with :)  The other elements were in my bits and bobs Halloween box.  There you have it, Sugar & Spice and everything nice, with an extra dash of Spice!

Princess

Hi Everyone - My daughters' birthday is coming up in a few weeks and I thought this ADORABLE image would be perfect for a Birthday card for her! I used the image from Susana Loves Stamps! And the Little Sassy Crew, Little Lily image.

I used Memento Ink Tuxedo Black and colored Lily up with the following Copic Markers

For the papers, I used the My Mind's Eye - Lost and Found 6x6 Papers  and matted them on Early Espresso card stock. I added some ZVA Pearls to the corner

I hope you enjoyed my project today! Thank you for stopping by today! Have a WONDERFUL weekend!!!

My Metal Heart!

Hi peoples! Ever since I saw Tim Holtz' metal egg at Easter time, I've been dying to create a 3D metal ornament myself. So today I created a metal heart! It was a lot of fun!

I took a Craft Pedlar's Paper Mache "Puffy Heart Kraft" Ornmanet. I cut the gold string off the top, punched a larger hole into the heart, and then stuck the ends of a piece of Idea-ology Metal Ball Chain into the hole and sealed it. I then cut an Inkssentials Foil Metal Tape Sheet into strips, removed the backing and adhered it to the heart, molding as I went along. It covered really well.

After that, I cut more strips of the Precious Metals Premium Foil Craft Sheet, embossed it with my Vntaj "Steampunk Parts" DecEmboss Folder, removed the backing and then adhered in various places on my metal heart. Using a sponge, I applied Pitch Black Alcohol Ink. I then used my Vintaj Metal Reliefing Block to burnish the heart.  Of course I had to add some Idea-Ology Mini Metal Gears! I had a blast creating my metal heart and I love it!

Have an awesome weekend, all!

Canvas Tag Book!

Hi All!  I have my last "monster" project to share with you...a canvas tag book.

While I was doing a major craft cleanup a few weeks ago, I happened upon a Maya Roads canvas tag book that I forgot I had.  I thought it would be perfect for the monsters.  Design-wise, I did not want to include paper or items that could fall off easily - since cute little curious hands can sometimes be destructive, lol.

Canvas is fun to work with.  (Check out all of the Canvas Susana carries in the store - here.)  I began by using my Dylusions Ink Sprays to spritz freehand and over Dylusions stencils (Number Jumble and Letter Jumble) and Crafter's Workshop Circle Explosion stencil onto the tags.  Then using various Memento inkpads, I stamped images from Dylusions Basic Backgrounds and Doodle Parts stamp sets.

I used Monster MashMonster ChillMonster FlirtSome Days and Dream Big with their accompanying sentiments from the Oddly Sweet Curiosities Set.  I stamped the images & sentiments directly on to the canvas tags using Stazon Black Ink.  The monsters were then colored with Copic Sketch Markers.

Then I went to town decorating.  Gelly Roll Glaze Pen and Diamond Glaze were used for gloss/shine and Gelly Roll Stardust Pure Glitter Pen was used for sparkle (hard to see in the photos).  White Uchida Liquid Applique was applied to white parts and heated for texture.  Buttons from My Minds Eye "Lovely Pins" and trinkets from my stash were sewn on (for the curious little hands).  I wanted to highlight the monsters, so I used a Fabric Paint Pen in yellow around them.  On the last two tags, I created pearls with my Viva Decor "Ice White", "Kiwi" and "Orange" Pearl Pens.  However, on the last tag, I accidentally smudged one of the pearls - which I decided I liked...so I ended up smashing all of them, lol.  Oh and "Black" Inkssentials Enamel Accents Viva Decor "Anthracite" Pearl Pen were used on their eyes.

Hope your week is rockin' so far!

Serene

Turning one of my spray projects from my tutorial last week into an easy but so pretty card.

To refresh your memory, here’s how I created this gorgeous background--
Finally for the Tsukineko Psst Shimmer Spray I wanted to try something different. I took a darker cardstock and then an embossing folder (isn’t it pretty! It’s one of the new ones at SCACD from Couture Creations called Serene) and sprayed a mixture of Copper, Frost and Gold onto the embossing folder and then quickly ran it through my Big Shot. Gorgeous end result!! and super easy!!

To make it into a card I just glued it down with ScraPerfect Best Glue Ever and then went around the edge with Gold Pearl- Liquid Pearls and also added some of the liquid pearls to the center of the flowers. I have to say I just really think this turned out so pretty and it was so easy!!

YOU MAKE LIFE FUN !!

Good Morning,

WOW!  It seems so long ago that I have crafted or posted anything.  As most of you know my daughter and grandchildren were for 6 weeks before they moved to Hawaii for 3 years so we were super busy everyday.  I think it is going to take me a while to get back in the swing of things.

Isn't this image just adorable?  It is LITTLE STARGAZER  from THE LITTLE SASSY CREW by Susana Loves Stamps.  This set was released along with THE ODDLY SWEET CURIOUSITIES  COLLECTION by Susana Love Stamps.  Both of these sets are the cutest ever.  My plan is to do them all, they are so cute.

Since it has been even longer since I made an easel card, LITTLE STARGAZER seemed like the perfect image for one.  I stitched the papers together and then had to search for my mojo.   She is stamped with MOMENTO INK  and colored with copics. I always have to add just a touch of glizt so I used STARDUST STICKLES.  Did you notice the beautiful pin - it is by PRIMA.  The ribbon and rhinestones finished it off with the sentiment.

SHOPPING ALERT:  SUSANA  has in new products:

Thank you for stopping by.  I will try not to be gone so long next time.

Monster Hugs

I paired Monster Hugs from the Oddly Sweet Curiosities collection with paper from Kaisercraft and a sketch.  Add some ribbon, a few brads and TA-DA!   This all just came together perfectly.  I just love when that happens!!
