How do I get everything I want?

My card today is featuring one of the FUN new stamps from the Oddly Sweet Curiousities Set #2, Monster Flirts

Miss Monster Flirts seemed pretty girly to me so I paired her up with my Bo Bunny Little Miss Muffet Collection of papers. I paper pieced her and just colored a few details with my copics. I cut her out using a nestabilities and then masked the image and stamped a background using VersaMark and the Prima stamp sets--Fairy Flora and Butterfly Wishes. Then I dusted over the stamped images with Apple Blossom and Yellow Rose Luminarte Primary Elements Mica Powder.

I added Dies by SCACD- Garden Corners for some added interest. I stamped the sentiment that comes with Monster Flirts on a separate cardstock layer and then used a border punch to allow just the sentiment to be seen. If you can’t read it, it says~ How do I get everything I want? Slow but constant whining.

On the inside I just added a strip of the patterned paper and then I added some of the “punch outs” from the corner dies. To finish the card I added some Kaisercraft pearls and stickles.

Timeless Birthday Beauty

Hello SCACD Friends!  Today I have a vintage card to share with you all!
This card is the birthday card that I made for my sister who had a birthday this past weekend....she is very vintage and when I saw the Graphic 45 Olde Curio Vintage Bottle Stamp Collection I knew one of these stamps would be perfect for her birthday card!  In March she had the opportunity to go to Paris so I used the bottle stamp with Paris on it!  Papers are from the Simple Stories Documented Collection (which is 10% off now at SCACD).
I love the Graphic 45 Olde Curio Vintage Bottle Collection because you can mix and match the labels with the different bottles that come in the stamp set!  Also this stamp set has bottle in it that are very feminine as well as masculine!  Image was colored with Copics and Star Dust Stickles was used on the bow of the bottle.

Copic Colors Used: V09, V15, V17, BG15, BG34, BG49, G20, G43, G46, E25, E51, E53, E55, E57.
The flourishes were coated them with Diamond Stickles to make them stand out.
One more view so you can see the shine and sparkle!  I took Diamond Glaze and coated my bottle to give it the major shine factor!  I hope you've enjoyed my card and I've inspired you!

Classic Corner Elegance

Good morning. :)

One of my favourite paper crafting tools are dies. They are so versatile and are a fantastic investment. So I was really excited when Susana released her own line of Dies by SCACD. For my card today, I used one of the Classic Corner dies. Just because they are called "corner dies" doesn't mean that they need to be used exclusively to adorn the corners of your projects. Some of the SCACD designers have used them to create borders and butterflies...these dies have so much potential! I decided to make a medallion with this Classic Corner die. All the cardstock used on my card is metallic. I cut eight corners out of silver cardstock. I arranged four to create the medallion and used the four remaining corners to frame it.

The completed card measures 4x4. This would make a lovely set of notecards. You could make the notecards all the same, or use the other Corner Dies by SCACD for a little variety. This medallion would also make a great embellishment for boxes or maybe even a journal cover.

So don't be afraid to think outside the box with your Dies by SCACD...let your creativity run wild and have fun playing!

Blessings,

Melanie

"No Boundaries" With a Vintage Flair

Hi folks!

I'm sharing a card today that was created around the Mixed Media Blank Canvas  stamps available exclusively at SCACD. These stamps are so versatile. They are wonderful for a wide variety of projects including cards, art journals, canvases, scrapbook layouts, tags, altered projects, etc. They also suit different styles. If you are a follower here at the SCACD Store Blog or at our Facebook Group, you have probably seen the projects that my fellow DT members have been posting with these new stamps. Some projects are edgy and funky, while others have been vintage and elegant. I love seeing how different designers can take the same stamps and yet come up with such different projects, each reflecting their own personal style.

This card features "No Boundaries Woman". The image was stamped in Walnut Stain Distress Ink on some Prima Nature Garden paper. I also stamped portions of one of the Graphic and Grunge Shells on the paper. I didn't even bother to put the stamp on my block as I was not trying to produce a crisp and clean impression...I just held in in my fingers and lightly touched it randomly over the paper. I also used the sentiment "Makes Me Stronger" which is a bonus stamp that you will only get when purchasing the Complete Blank Canvas Collection which includes a total of seven image stamps. I inked it up in two separate portions so that I could break up the words on my paper. (the "Makes Me" portion is kind of hidden under my watermark) The paper edges were torn and/or distressed  before being inked up for a softer effect. The pearls were all made with my Viva Decor Pearl Pen in Dark Brown. The flourish was cut with the Memory Box Elegant Scrollwork die. You will also spy one of the new "Classic Corner Dies" by SCACD. These are another new product available at SCACD. I love this corner die and have made very good use of it already. I love the way it fills those empty corner spaces that need a little something special. :)

Susana is always adding new products to the SCACD website, so make sure to check in often! She recently added some new Memory Box Dies, Gorjuss Girls stamps and some lovely 6x6 paper pads.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day. :)

Blessings

CAS Cards with KOI!

When I first saw this Dreamweaver "Carp" Stencil, I knew I had to have ii.  I love Koi fish!  They are beautiful and hold much meaning.

I used my stencil to make a CAS Father's Day card for Great Grandpa.

I began by taping the metal stencil to my cardstock and running it through my bigshot to emboss the image.  While the stencil was still taped on, I rubbed my VersMark Ink Pad over the stencil, then using stencil brushes, I applied "Teal Zircon""Kiwi""Sunflower" and "Celadon" Luminarte Mica Powders to the Koi images.  Before removing the stencil, I flipped it upside down and tapped off any excess powder.  After removing the stencil, I sprayed it with a clear glaze to set the powder.

My husband really liked that card, so I decided to keep with the Koi for his and my father's Father's Day card.  I taped my Dreamweaver "Carp" Stencil to my cardstock and ran through my bigshot.  While the stencil was still taped on, I went to town with  sponge daubers and various distress inks.  For how-tos, you can see my previous stencils post HERE.

Just mat and you are good to go!

Hope you have an awesome weekend!

Skys the Limit

Good Morning Everyone, Happy Friday!!! Crystal here and today I would like to share a creation with you that I made using some brand new SCACD images and lots of fun products SCACD carries!!! Hope you enjoy my creation today!!!

I had a blast making this creation, isn't she fun???? Have you tried Mixed Media?? If you haven't you must give it a try, I know when I first starting playing with these AWESOME products, it was a bit out of my comfort zone but once I started I couldn't believe how fun it is to try something different!!!!

I started this creation by stamping these fantastic wings Black Canvas Wings Set, with orangish/yellow pigment ink, heat embossed and outlined the sentiment with my black Copic marker. I then colored the background around the image with my E31 Copic Marker.

Next I stamped this brand new image Black Canvas and Resilient Woman with Memento Black Ink, I then stamped her again on a piece of Bo Bunny Paper from the et cetera collection paper pieced and attached her with adhesive on top of my wings. Right now this great paper pad is 10% off while supplies last :)

Once my image was done, I designed my card layout

5 1/2 x 5 1/2 card base very vanilla
Next three layers of cardstock
Close to cocoa cardstock, basic black, and Bo Bunny et cetera

Once I had my card base completed I embossed a black piece of cardstock using brocade cuttlebug embossing folder...( Right now this fab folder is 20% off) Tore the black paper, and then attached it to my top layer of my card. Next I adhered my wings and woman images on the card :)

For my embellishments I used my Sizzix Die Flowers 3-D, created my flowers, added distress ink to them..Once I added my flowers to my card, I used my new favorite die by Memory Box Elegant Scrollwork... Have you tried Memory Box dies???? OMG they are absolutely beautiful and cut so perfectly with your cuttlebug....

Last but not least, do you see that metal in the right hand corner?? I wanted to add a little something "extra" I kept looking at my creation and it felt like it needed a little something else. These brass embellishments are FABULOUS...They are Vintaj altered blanks. You can emboss them, ink them, imprint on them, so many possibilities..so I decided to emboss it to match my black layer of embossing with my brocade cuttlebug folder!!! I really loved the effect it had!!! Couldn't forget a little bit of bling on the right bottom side :) :)

I hope I didn't take up too much of your time today, I wanted to share with you how I made this creation so maybe you would want to give Mixed Media a shot!!! So much fun!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you have a WONDERFUL Friday!!!!

TRANQUILITY

Good Morning!  It is a hot sunny day here in Texas, but I am having sooooo much fun with the grandchildren.  It seems like we are always on the go and swimming.   They are working on a tan before moving to Hawaii.

This versatile image is SOLID BLANK CANVAS WOMAN from the MIXED MEDIA BLANK CANVAS COLLCTION by SUSANA LOVES STAMPS.    I gave her a necklace with a pearl and a flower with a pearl at her waistline.  The dress is covered with Stickles - Rock Hard Candy.  The butterfly is MEMORY BOX DIE - VIVIENNE BUTTERFLY.

She is standing on an oval same as background.  I used a SIZZIX DIFFUSER to  accomplish this look.  The package has three different shapes.   They are soooooo easy to use.  The frame is embossed and I used DYLUSION INK SPRAYS - Pure Sunshine-Lemon Zest - Cut Grass-Crushed Grape-Postbox Red  and sanded the raised areas just a little for a few highlights.

Shopping Alert:  SUSANA has some new MEMORY BOX DIES in stock.  While you are shopping be sure and check out the GORGEOUS new DIES BY SCACD.

Hope all of you have a wonderful week!

Be...Original

Today I had the chance to sit down to play with the last SCACD release, The Blank Canvas Collection. I know many of you say the “mixed media” isn’t for you but I think you’d be surprised how fun these stamps and this style is--there are no rules, you just create and have fun. I am truly embracing it and loving it! Dare ya to try it!!

I started by stamping Blank Canvas Woman with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto my cardstock and then also onto an old book page.  I colored the skin and hair with copics and ShinHan Art Touch Twin markers and then cut her out.

Next I cut out the dress part from the book page and made a watercolor out of Yellow Rose Luminarte Primary Elements Mica Powder and Gum Arabic and painted over the book page. I had some extra of the watercolor mixture so I painted a scrap piece of cardstock, just in case I wanted to use it for a die cut or something. Once the dress was dry I touched up the black lines with an old fine tip marker I had--I sort of had a blob on one side but decided to leave it as I thought it added character and then I glued it to the woman using ScrapPerfect Best Glue Ever--I like this glue so much when working with things that make paper curl as it really holds them down.

Next I stamped the word Original from the Authentic Words Set onto my card front in Archival Jet Black ink. I handwrote “be” in front of Original. I stamped the Rays in VersaMark ink and then dusted more of the Yellow Rose Luminarte Primary Elements Mica Powder over it. I also wanted the edges to have some sparkle to them so I repeated this process by inking up the edges with VersaMark and then dusting on the mica powder.

To finish the card I just used the scrap cardstock that I watercolored and die cut a corner using one of the new Dies by SCACD- Garden Corner. A pretty clean and simple mixed media card..hehe!!

Did you know that SCACD has lots of the popular decorated stick pins? Check them out HERE!!!

Butterfly Vase!

Hi all! I'm here with a card featuring SCACD's new Butterfly Vase Die!.

On my card, I also used one of the Classic Corners Dies by SCACD.  I die cut white cardstock, rubbed the die cuts on my VersaMark Ink Pad, then brushed on various pink & purple Luminarte Mica Powders.  The shimmer is off the wall IRL!  I then die cut white cardstock again and popped some of the leftover/"hole" pieces into the first die cuts.  Using "Majestic Purple" Liquid Pearls, I created teeny pearls on the vase and corner die cuts.  Using my Making Memories eyelet kit tool, I punched holes of varying sized through black cardstock for my backdrop.  Finished off with a beautiful Maya Road Vintage Pearl Butterfly Pin and a chain & brad through the holes!

I also tried creating a stain glass effect by spritzing different colors of Dylusion Ink Sprays on to white cardstock, coating with Diamond Glaze and then adhering a black vase die-cut on top! I used a Viva Decor "Anthracite" Pearl Pen to create teeny pearls on the vase.

Be back soon with more fun!
