This card is one of those projects that took a left turn at Albuquerque, then did an about face and went skittering off in a completely different way!
The focal image for this card is the hat, which is the accessory stamp, from the brand new Steampunk Eyes release from the Eyes of Adventure and Fabels by Susana Loves Stamps.
As you can see, I took the design from the hat itself. I stamped the hat using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then colored it with Copic markers.
The patterned papers, from the Very Vintage Double Dots 6x6 pad by Bo Bunny, were corner punched then temporarily adhered to each other. VersaMark Champagne Dazzle ink was sponged over the Gears stencil by The Crafter's Workshop, then brushed with Pebbles Earthtone Metallic chalks. I forgot what a lovely subtle look you get when you combine VersaMark and chalk!
I took the layers of paper apart, set the eyelets, then layered the papers again. Thread was laced through the eyelets, and another strip of paper was added to cover the base. This strip had been stenciled using the combo of VersaMark Champagne Dazzle ink with the Basket Weave stencil by The Crafter's Workshop.
Once this layer was done, I started to work on the other elements. Grungeboard was covered with Flashing Tape, die cut using Alterations Gears dies, then textured using All A Flutter Embossing Folder by Couture Creations. The gears were distressed further with a Tonic Scratcher and coated it with a layer of Black Paint Dabber, which was immediately wiped off, which left the ink in the indentations.
The "feathers" aren't feathers at all, but rather are leaves from the Foliage Shapeabilities set by Spellbinders (30% off right now!)
The key and key hole are from a Grungeboard set and were "painted" with Tarnished Brass and Brushed Pewter Distress Stains respectively. That's some cool stuff!
Alice's Clock Statement Corner die was used on gold metallic paper and adorns the lower left side of the card.
The "chains" are silver metallic foil stickers by Flower Soft. The pendant bail is also metallic foil sticker.
Here's a close up so you can see more of the details!
After all the above, I couldn't bear to put a sentiment, so I didn't.
Pat yourself on the back if you've read all of this and thanks for visiting today!
