Canvas Tag Book!

Hi All!  I have my last "monster" project to share with you...a canvas tag book.

While I was doing a major craft cleanup a few weeks ago, I happened upon a Maya Roads canvas tag book that I forgot I had.  I thought it would be perfect for the monsters.  Design-wise, I did not want to include paper or items that could fall off easily - since cute little curious hands can sometimes be destructive, lol.

Canvas is fun to work with.  (Check out all of the Canvas Susana carries in the store - here.)  I began by using my Dylusions Ink Sprays to spritz freehand and over Dylusions stencils (Number Jumble and Letter Jumble) and Crafter's Workshop Circle Explosion stencil onto the tags.  Then using various Memento inkpads, I stamped images from Dylusions Basic Backgrounds and Doodle Parts stamp sets.

I used Monster MashMonster ChillMonster FlirtSome Days and Dream Big with their accompanying sentiments from the Oddly Sweet Curiosities Set.  I stamped the images & sentiments directly on to the canvas tags using Stazon Black Ink.  The monsters were then colored with Copic Sketch Markers.

Then I went to town decorating.  Gelly Roll Glaze Pen and Diamond Glaze were used for gloss/shine and Gelly Roll Stardust Pure Glitter Pen was used for sparkle (hard to see in the photos).  White Uchida Liquid Applique was applied to white parts and heated for texture.  Buttons from My Minds Eye "Lovely Pins" and trinkets from my stash were sewn on (for the curious little hands).  I wanted to highlight the monsters, so I used a Fabric Paint Pen in yellow around them.  On the last two tags, I created pearls with my Viva Decor "Ice White", "Kiwi" and "Orange" Pearl Pens.  However, on the last tag, I accidentally smudged one of the pearls - which I decided I liked...so I ended up smashing all of them, lol.  Oh and "Black" Inkssentials Enamel Accents Viva Decor "Anthracite" Pearl Pen were used on their eyes.

Hope your week is rockin' so far!

This is so creative. I love the softness of the colors-almost like watercolor.
