Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all my SCACD friends!  Tonight I want to share the card that I made for my Mother-in-law for Mother's Day featuring one of the amazing Guardian Angels by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD!  

This card features the beautiful Sentimental Angel...I love her to pieces!!!  Papers are from the gorgeous MME Indie Chic Saffron Collection.  

Little Miss Sentimental Angel was colored with Copics and pastels.  Her wings got a coat of Diamond Stickles.  Her headband, hair tie, and flower on her jeans were coated with Illuminate Smooch.  Her belt buckle was dazzled up with my Gold Spica.  Now for the beautiful heart....this is a Studio Calico wooden heart from the Hearts & Arrows Collection that Susana carries in the store -->here<--.  I took this plain wooden heart and then grabbed my Gum Arabic Powder and my Luminarte Pink Azalea Mica Powder.  I mixed equal parts of the Gum Arabic Powder and Mica powder....added some water to it with my paint brush and got this gorgeous "paint" to cover my wooden hearts with.  I absolutely LOVE the shimmer and sparkle in these Mica powders...they are AMAZING!  Remember: if you want the sparkle of the Mica to stick you need to add the Gum Arabic powder with it :)  However you can get a gorgeous watercolor with just the Mica and water.
