Did you see the wonderful tutorial that my DT Sister, Alex did? No? Well head on over to the SCACD store blog and check it out HERE!
I was so happy to see her do this tutorial as I must admit, I’ve been very boring in my use of my embossing folders….never tried anything outside of…well, embossing. LOL! But this has started the ideas rolling and I can’t wait to play!
Figured I’d show my stack of folders…umm, yeah, you could say I like ‘em!
The first thing I tried was taking my Luminarte Watermelon Mist silk glaze and painted it onto my Craft Concepts Brocade embossing folder then put some dark purple cardstock in it and ran it through my Big Shot and voila’ here’s the results~
Gorgeous although hard to capture it in a photograph!! I LOVE how this turned out and it just shows that you shouldn’t be afraid to play and get messy.
On that whole messy note, this cleaned up so easy with water and then for the stubborn spots I used ScraPerfect The Best Cleaner Ever.
And here’s my finished card using Sea Cliff Eyes from the latest Susana Loves Stamps release.
I know I’ll be playing with these embossing folders a lot more now and trying new things--you should too!!

This is such a great idea. I really love these ideas and I saw the tutorial.
So beautiful. I really love the hint of color and shine that the Silk Glaze adds to the purple. That folder is gorgeous and of course, so is the beautifully colored Sea Cliff Eyes image!
