Happy Halloween SCACD Friends!

Wow where is October go?  I can't believe it is already Halloween today!  I hope you all got lots of treats and no tricks! :)  Tonight I have a fun Halloween card that I have made using some adorable Make It Crafty Stamps that Susana has in stock at the SCACD Store!
I am a total Team Edward Girl!  I fell head over heels for Edward when reading the Twilight Series books...which I can't wait for the next movie to come out later in November! :) When I got the Make It Crafty Monztaboyz Set (which Susana currently has 25% off at the store) I immediately inked up the cute vampire...or if you were in my studio his name turned into Little Edward (wink wink)!  The papers used are from the fabulous Echo Park Apothecary Emporium collection (which also happens to be 25% off at the SCACD store...think of all the savings you can get by ordering these Halloween items today...you'll be ahead of the game for next year at this time)!
My Little Edward was colored with Copics and cut out using my SB Circles, and then popped up onto a SB scalloped square.

Copic Colors Used on Little EdwardSkin: E11, E40, E42, Hair: E27, E35, E47, E49, Coat: N0, N1, N3, N5, Cape & Pants: N3, N5, N7, N9, R05, R46, R59, Bat: N3, N5,N7, N9.
The Bat for my flower arrangement was created using Teresa Collins Happy Hollows Stamp Set.  Topped off with a Prima Delightful Day Glory Flower.  Flower, leaves, and Mr. Batty were edged with Black Diamond Stickles.

I also got a chance to color the other Monztaboyz too....although I didn't get cards made for the other two boys.....but I wanted to at least share my colored images with you :)
Meet Mr. Headless Horseman!  I still can't get over how fun these characters were to color.  Of course they all were colored with Copics.

Copics Colors Used on the Headless HorsemanPumpkin: YR04, YR12, YR16, YR18, Y38, Y000, G28, YG00, YG06, YG45, Cape: N3, N5, N7, N9, V000, V01, V17, V95, V99, BV11, Pants: N3, N5, N7, N9, Shirt: B00, B41, B93, B95, Boots: E25, E47, E49.
Finally meet Little Frankie....that's the name that I gave him.  I thought he was so darn tootin' cute...with being so shy!

Copic Colors used on FrankieBolts: C1, C3, C5, C7, B93, Hair: E25, E31, E47, E49, Eyes: E97, YR12, YR18, Skin: YG91, YG93, YG95, YG99, YG0000, Shirt: V09, V15, V17, Jacket: N3, N5, N7, N9, Jeans: B91, B93, B95, B97, B99.

And finally one more view of my Little Edward card!  Again I hope you all have a Happy Halloween and don't get a belly ache from eating all of those treats!

♥ Thanks for stopping by! ♥

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone! Finished altering my son's costume - whew. They're allowed to wear their costumes to school today - so crossing fingers that all goes well with that. Using the bathroom and keeping it on/clean may prove difficult, LOL! Then it's trick or treating tonight.

I made some quick Halloween treat bags (using orange & black sugar cookies). I used "Witchy Woman" from the "Classic Retro Crew" by Victoria Case for SCACD. She looks very familiar, wouldn't you say, lol!

She was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Copic Sketch Markers. Part of her outfit was paper pieced using My Mind's Eye - Mischievous 6x6 Paper Pad papers. She was fussy cut and adhered to the velum bag full of sugar cookies.

Have a Happy Halloween everyone!!!

In the City!!

Lil’ Bit Citified!!

P1120507_edited-1

This new collection of fabulous ladies is called by Victoria Case for SCACD  “Classic Retro Crew”!  These gals are fabulous, with lots of sass and flash—I just love ‘em!  And there is a 2nd new collection called “Street Views”—some great town and city stamps that are perfect used alone or paired up with other stamps!  BUY THE SETS AND SAVE $$$$ and you can use all these stamps together or by themselves--full of varitey!!

**These stamps are available overseas at Quixotic Paperie as well**

I got to use these two called “Sass & Swagger” and “City Skyline” on my project today!  I love the CITY but I love the COUNTRY too---I am comfortable in either place but I could never just have one in my life.  I don’t think I could live full-time in the city but I sure like to spend time there—there is such a great energy in cities.  Its exciting, rushed and electric and I love that feeling. BUT it can become overwhelming and too much so I need a dose of the slow, laid-back country life too to balance it all out.  I’m like that in many aspects of my life—a good balance of both keeps Suzanne a happy girl LOL.

P1120498_edited-1

I knew I wanted to use lots of black in my project—it can be both modern and flashy when paired with bold colors, just like a city!  My papers are from Kaisercraft’s “Chapter One” series (15% off right now) and I loved the pops of bright green and aqua with the blacks, kinda cool & slick!  The black cardstock was embossed with a large CB embossing folder and the card base is silver cs for more sparkle.  The sentiment is an older one from Sweet Stamps that I embossed in white on the black cs.  A few rhinestones add a bit more bling to it all—it’s the city baby so lots of bling is always GOOD! LOL!  I loved the graphic feel of the blacks and pops of color of the papers that I didn’t add many embellishments—it would’ve taken away from the main images.

So both the city skyline and the chic “Sass n Swagger” gal got colored up with Copics.  I envisioned her in black leather pants and jacket (I want Santa to bring me a black leather jacket for Xmas….hear that hubby…errrr….Santa) with a sparkly bustier.  Perfect for a night out on the town in the city!!  Both got coats of Diamond Glaze as well to make them shiny (her eyes did too).  Some of the city buildings I coated in diamond glaze and stickles to really make them pop.  One of my favorite views of the NYC skyline is from Central Park West—there are some huge boulders near the lake and when you look above the trees you see the gorgeous buildings of the city.  Its such a great juxtaposition of city and nature in one view—just awesome and that’s what this image reminds me of.  For copics I used:  C9,C7,C5,C3,C1 / W7,W5,W3,W1 / BG72,BG11,BG10 / E11,E00,E25,E31,E50 / G99,YG67,YG95,YG91,YG03,G20.

WISHES DO COME TRUE IN FAIRY HOLLOW

Good Morning! I just love these new images. They are soooo much fun. There are two new collections that were released yesterday - VICTORIA CASE FOR SCACD - STREET VIEWS AND CLASSIC RETRO CREW.

When you purchase a set you will receive a bonus stamp and sentiment along with a discount. For my international friends, these sets can be purchased at Quixotic Paperie.

I have used 2 images. WISHES DO COME TRUE and FAIRY HOLLOW. This card was sooooo much to make. I was a little worried when I decided to mask instead of doing two separate images, but it all turned out well.

I stamped WISHES DO COME TRUE and masked her then stamped FAIRY HOLLOW. I knew I wanted to use the colors turquoise and red before I started and I went through all my stash to find ribbon and embellies to match.

The images are colored with Copics with Deco Art Glamour Dust - Crystal added to the mushroom house and Stickles on her headpiece and belt. I added Sparklers for the door knobs and accents. I did Diamond Glaze the windows, but not until after I took the pics. Sorry. The flowers at the bottom of image were made using my Memory Box Catalina Border. I cut out the border then cut it up. I love these dies, they cut so clean. The ribbon, flower, and butterflies are from my stash.

Hope you enjoyed viewing my creation. If you missed the hop yesterday see the list below and view some of the other great creations.

HUGS,

Wishes Do Come True

Did you order your new Victoria Case for SCACD stamps yet? No? Whatcha’ waiting for?? Such fun new collections~ Street Views and Classic Retro Crew!! Be sure and order yours!!

Today I wanted to play with one of the images from the Classic Retro Crew~ Wishes Do Come True! What would you wish for if you had a genie? I’m not sure what I’d wish for..hmmm…okay, let’s narrow it down, what would you wish for from a crafty genie?? I would wish for a craft room with lots of space to store and work on my crafts!

I had so much fun making this card! I used my new Goosebumps Shimmer Texture Spray on the background behind Wishes Do Come True and also on my flourish~~ this stuff is amazing! I don’t know that the camera will do it justice but it has the neatest texture and the prettiest shimmer to it. I can’t wait to play with it more as you can do so much with it just by how much or little you apply!! (if you get this and try it--which you should--take a warm rag to the nozzle after you use it to help it spray better!)

You can see the texture and some of the shimmer in this photo

WITCHY WITCHY - HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Good Morning all! It's almost Friday - YAY !!!! A cold front blew in last night and dropped the temp to 58 which feels good if we just didn't have the wind. I'll take it any day over the heat. Well, this will be my last Halloween card for this year. I just love this KRAFTIN' KIMMIE image. SUSANA has the fall and Halloween KK stamps on sale right now, as well, as the fall and Halloween PAPER PADS.

She is stamped on PTI paper and colored with COPICS. The pumpkin's eyes and mouth are highlighted with STICKLES. The cute little sentiment comes with the image.

The inside has a little pocket on the left side if I want to add a little tag or money for the kids. All the embellies are from my stash.

Hope you enjoyed my card and please come back. Be sure and check the store - SCACD often as Susana is always getting in new items.

I found my family in a book

Today I created with one of my Gorjuss Girls that hasn’t seen ink {shudder}, I found my family in a book. You can get your Gorjuss Girls at SCACD! and they are 20% right now!!

These images are just so cute and really fun to color and create with!

Sitting Pretty...in the Pumpkin Patch

Hi folks!! Can you believe it's already October 19th?? This month is flying by and Halloween is creeping up really quickly. I need to get crackin' because I still have some great new Halloween papers, stamps and supplies that I need to use before the end of the month!

So with that in mind, I decided to pull out some of my SCACD goodies and get to work! I was looking through my ever growing collection of SCACD exclusive stamps, waiting for some spooky inspiration to hit and decided to pull out "Sitting Pretty" by Carmen Medlin from the Natural Beauty Collection. I figured with the right colour combination, she could work very nicely on a Halloween card. I used some beautiful papers from the Authentique "Glowing" collection, which just happens to be on sale right now at SCACD for 25% off! The paper edges were all distressed and sponged with Black Soot Distress Ink. I also used some chipboard pumpkins from the Maya Road "Autumn" pack and covered them with some orange paper from the Echo Park "Apothecary Emporium" paper pad (also on sale!!). After adhering the paper, I sanded the edges down and got to work with my Copic markers to create some shading and dimension. The bow was tied with my Bow Easy.

"Sitting Pretty" was stamped on Neenah cardstock with Memento Ink and coloured with Copic markers. She really is so dainty and sweet...I kind of felt bad "grunging" her up a bit for Halloween!! But, I also love that these stamps are so versatile. You can really get such a different effect by just switching up your colour scheme...coloured in pastels, "Sitting Pretty" is gorgeous for a very soft and feminine card.

Skin: E000, E00, E11, R20  Hair: E50, E31, E33, E37, E59  Dress: C1, C3, C5, C7, YR07, YR16, E08, E13, E17, E18, V17, YG63 (and black Conte crayon on her skirt)  Chair: YG00, G20, YG91, YG97, W1, W3, W5, W7  Pumpkins: Patterned paper, YR61, YR16, E13, E17, E18, E25, E59

I finished off the inside of the card with a bit of the Authentique design paper and some stamped images from the Teresa Collins Happy Hallows clear stamp set. (They were stamped with Black Soot Distress Ink. I didn't worry about getting a perfect impression as I think it added to the distressed feel of this card.) This Teresa Collins set is on sale for 20% off right now. It includes several images just perfect for finishing off your spooky creations.

Don't forget to pop by Susana's Custom Art and Card Design to check out all the great products in stock.  Remember, all Halloween/fall paper pads are on sale for 25%, but only while supplies last!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Blessings,

Melanie
