Friendship Rose

Hello crafty friends! I've got a card to share with you today featuring one of the Fall Flora Fairies from the SCACD Stamp Co. These fairies can be  used for so many occasions. I think they are just perfect for cards for those sweet little girls in your life...after all, what little girl doesn't love fairies?!

So with that in mind, I set out to make a very "girly" card. I decided to ink up Friendship Rose and paired her up with some soft pastel papers from Prima. I lightly distressed all the paper edges and pulled out my sewing machine to add some stitching. The pretty crocheted trim is a dollar store find. I coated the petal edges of the little Prima rose in with Stardust Stickles. The pearls were made with a Viva Decor Pearl Pen in Ice White. The bow was made with my trusty Bow Easy. A few pearl sprays were tucked in behind the bow.

Friendship Rose was stamped on Neenah cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and coloured with Copics. Her wings, shoes and green polkadots on her dress were coated with Stardust Stickles. Friendship Rose also comes with a pretty rose accessory stamp.

Peekaboo!!

I see you :o) Happy Wednesday!!!! I hope your week has been treating you well thus far. Today's card was whipped up using a sketch that has been sitting on my craft table for almost a week. So... I had to get busy!!
Really...where does all the time go?!?

Today's card features the darling stamp "Secret Garden Peeker" by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Stamp Co. Isn't she a cutie? I adore how it captures the inquisitiveness of children. I remember peeking around corners looking for my next big adventure...are there dinosaurs behind the fence?...or maybe a hidden treasure just waiting to be found? It doesn't seem like that long ago when me and my sons would go on our adventure walks...we would write stories of all the cool things we encountered on our journey through the park or the woods or even our neighborhood. It always amazed me at how incredibly fun their imaginations were...I think I am going to pull those stories out and read them again. :o) How I wish they were still little....I suppose that's why God created grandchildren. :o)

Thanks for taking a trip down memory lane with me! I hope your Wednesday is absolutely, positively WONDERFUL!!!
Blessing and Hugs,
Carolyn

Hapi Berthday Whiteknee!!

Hello friends!  Before you think that I'm totally bonkers, I need to explain something... A few days ago, I made a birthday card for one of my son's friends.  He thought it would be funny to spell the sentiment all wrong, so of course, I did.  He was out the door with card in hand, driving off when I realized that I hadn't taken a photo of the card.  I called his cell phone (don't tell the police that he answered when he was driving...) and asked him to return so I could take a photo - which he did (yes, he's a sweetie!).  Anyway, as I was setting things up, I realized that EVERYONE was now going to see the bad spelling - yikes!  I told him that I was going to tell you that it was his idea.  Honest.

This is Celebrate from the Sweet Meets Sassy Collection 2 by Victoria Case for SCACD.
She's colored with the following copicsV17 V15 V12 V01; BG05 BG01 BG000; E49 E59 E25 E53; E11 E00 R20

You don't think I would show you this photo first with the wacky spelling, do you???  And just so you know, the sweet young lady this card went to is Whitney.  Happy Happy Birthday sweetie!!!

The fun dp is from Echo Park Summer Days and Cosmo Cricket Pixie-Licious.  I'm sorry, but I believe that Susana no longer carries these.  Please correct me, if I'm wrong - I looked and looked!  For the border around the image, I used an MS punch, then clipped the edges so it would bend around the nestie oval.  I've seen other people do this technique before, but as usual, I'm one of the LAST to use it lol!  Let's just say that I'm bringing it back hee hee...

The Lavendar embellishments I picked up at Michael's, but you KNOW that I'm gonna have to duplicate it using Mold n Pour and either Viva Decor Crystal Gel or Modeling Cream : )  It's just a matter of time cuz I only have these in one color AND I just received some new Precious Metal Paint - it totally ROCKS!

I hope you've enjoyed my card and are inspired to create your own masterpiece : )

Love and Blessings~

Fairy Birthday Wishes

For my project today I have used another Fall Flora Fairy....Please meet Friendship Rose....she is my ultimate favorite of the group!  {Although I really do love all 4 of these beauties!}  I'm made another shaped card to share with you:
This is my second card shaped like a tag...you can see my first one -->here<--.  This card features Friendship Rose who is one of the NEW Fall Flora Fairies that was just released this past Friday at SCACD.  Papers are from the Echo Park Victoria Gardens Collection...the minute I saw this collection at CHA I immediately fell in love!  The double sided papers are stunning!
Friendship Rose was colored with Copics and accented with my pastel pencils (black, grey, and white). Her wings have been accented with Star Dust Stickles, and the circles on her dress were sparklized with my Pink Spica Marker.  She was cut out and popped up onto a SB Oval and SB Scalloped Oval which is layered on top of a paper lace doilie.
Flowers were blinged up using Star Dust Stickles.
Sentiment is from my Emerald Fairie Garden Set that I cut out with a SB circle and popped up onto a SB scalloped circle.  Corner resin embellie and some crackle paint for a distressed look.  My bow was made using some pink and brown twine and my Bow Easy.  Finally top of the card has some more beautiful lace for the tag "strings."
Here you can see the inside of the card.  Each Fall Flora Fairy comes with her very own coordinating flower stamp.  I've used the Tulip stamp from the Tulipa stamp and colored it with Copics.

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your week!  Wednesday I take my next CPA Exam....wish me luck!

Friendship Rose

I just had to ink up another one of the wonderful Fall Flora Fairies that were released on Friday! I {heart} them!!

Today I’m sharing Friendship Rose with you. Isn’t she a delight? For some reason I picture her talking with a southern drawl and being oh so polite and lady like.

Have you ordered your fairies yet?? You know you NEED them!! Be sure to look around Susana’s store too…I know she’s been busy uploading lots of new things! and don’t forget about the blog candy on the store blog!

I tried something a bit different with this fairy. I sponged on a background of sorts using a Crafter’s Workshop Template. Once I had it sponged and while I still had my mask on the fairy I went over the white spaces with shimmer chalk to fill it in some (Belle came in while I was chalking and she said, wow, that’s alot of sparkle!) LOL!!

Since I had so much going on with my little scene, I just kept the card super simple. I spritzed my white base cardstock with Maya Road Mist to add just a bit more sparkle to the card. I also used my Cricut for the border and then the butterflies are Make It Crafty Butterfly Leaves chipboard--oh my word are they so gorgeous, such fabulous work in chipboard! I painted them with my favorite DecoArt Glamour Dust Ultra-fine glitter paint

You can see the shimmer and sparkle in the next photo~

What Are You Wearing Today?

Hello SCACD fans!  It's Monday... and a promising, FUN week lies ahead with lots more surprises around the corner : )  Don'tcha just love surprises???  Today, I'm sharing Tulipa.  She doesn't go anywhere without her constant companion, butterfly!  In fact, they are so close they even call each other to see what the other is going to wear for the day hee hee...

Copics:  BG09 BG07 BG05 BG02 BG01 BG000 BG0000; YG63 YG03 YG01 YG00 YG0000; E49 E59 E25 E53; C2 C0.
Her wings are colored with BG000, given a coat of Viva Decor Transparent Gloss Gel and topped with Crystal Super Fine Glamour Dust.  Using the Gel Pen gives the wings a little more dimension than using glue and glitter.  Her headband was given a 'swipe' of Glitter Liner as was the edges of the very colorful butterfly : )  The cute li'l half pearls were made using my Cobalt Blue Paper Pen - I still LOVE my paper pens.  Note:  I see that Susana isn't carrying Cobalt Blue Paper Pens anymore, but a suitable substitution is Turquoise Pearl Pen!

The gorgeous dp is Chapter One by Kaisercraft, (now 15% off!) which I also used for the tulip tag.  Aren't the flowers awesome which accompany the stamps from the Fall Flora Fairies?  You can do so much with them!  If I had more time, I'd make my own dp using these tulips!  What other things can you dream up?  Inquiring minds want to know!!!

Have a great week! ♥

Love and Blessings~

Will You Be My Friend?

Isn't she a cutie-pie?  I love how her skirt mimics the petals of a rose - which just so happens to be my favorite flower : )

She's of course colored with copics:  RV66 RV63 RV00 RV000; YG99 G94 G82 G40; E35 E34 YG21 YG20.  After coloring her wings with RVxx I covered them with Viva Decor Transparent Gloss Gel and sprinkled Crystal Glamour Dust on top.  You can see a hint of color, but lots of sparkle!  Oh so sorry for the poor photo... you can't see the bling very well : (  The 3D circles on her skirt were done the same way.  I believe I picked up the flower ribbon at JoAnn's and the sheer ribbon from Michael's.  Those fabulous rhinestones can be found Here.

A quick shot of the inside reveals the ROSE that accompanies Friendship Rose.  I used my nestabilities die to cut out a portion of the image which I layered on a strip of dp.  Very very easy : )

Fabulous New Paper Just In!!!
Before you go LOL... You just gotta take a peek at the New 6 x 6 paper in the Store.  Some GORGEOUS pads are waiting for you to see : )  Can you believe that I JUST placed an order, and now I see more that I NEED hee hee.  As always, please please save some for meeeeee lol!!!!

Love and blessings~

Fairy Wishes to You

Are you all loving the Fall Flora Fairies?  I sure hope so....I adore this new look that Susana has brought into the store!  Here is Tulipa which is one of the four adorable Fall Flora Fairies Collection by SCACD Stamp Co.
For my card I have used papers from the Brand NEW Bo Bunny Garden Girl Collection.  Fairy Wishes sentiment is from the Emerald Fairie Sentiment Set that Susana has in stock at SCACD....this sentiment set goes PERFECT with the fall flora fairies being released today!
Of course I colored this cutie with my Copics.  Along with my black pastel pencil I also used a gray and white pastel pencils for shading and highlights.  Image was cut out using my SB Labels 14 die, and while it was left in the die I airbrushed the sky with my Copic ABS.  If you look closely you will see I used some beautiful purple glitter to accent my sentiment.  This was so easy to add with the help of my TonerTex Pen.
Flowers have been sparkalized with my Diamond Stickles.  Edge has been punched with a MS punch and accented with rhinestones.
For this angle you can see all the sparkles!  Tulipa has been glamorized to the max!  I've used Star Dust Stickles on her wings as well as the butterfly.  Then I took my Crystal Glamour Dust Paint and coated the pink parts on her dress....seriously if you haven't gotten this paint yet what are you waiting for!  It's so easy to use, dries quickly, and gives amazing sparkle and color!

Now if you haven't already purchased your Fall Flora Fairies....what are you waiting for.....head -->HERE<-- to go and get your very own set.....which comes with a FREE sentiment stamp!  Don't forget....for our friends over seas friends... you can purchase these beauties from Elaine at Quixotic Paperie, -->HERE<--.  Happy Shopping and I hope you are fully enjoying the rest of your weekend!
