FRIENDS

Good Morning!! It was a beautiful weekend here in Central Texas. After a busy week I couldn't wait to lock myself in my craft room and work away. This sweet image is From the Vault by Elisabeth Bell - "Winter Friends" . I didn't use a sentiment because I thought I would wait and see what occasion arises first. It could be a "Hello" - "Friendship" - and various others.

The image is colored with Copics and her jacket and pants have fluff on the trim. I used Flower Soft Ultra Fine - Sand for the ground. Her gloves sparkle and shine with the help of Stickles. The flowers are from my stash and the beautiful pearls on the border and the flowers are Kaisercraft adhesive half pearls. The DP is Magnifique from CTMH.

The flourish punch on the left border is also accented with Kaisercraft Pearls and accented with Stickles.

REMINDER: The Store is open for business today.

Susana has The Sew Easy is stock and also the attachments. As most of you know she is always rec. new items on a weekly basis, if not a daily basis, so be sure and check back.

Thank you for visiting my blog. All of you are greatly appreciated.

Fairy Queen

Happy Friday everyone!

Hope that you are going to have a wonderful weekend. I'm just writing up a very quick post - since I better start prepare the dinner for tonight when we are having friends over. Excited to see them again.

Here's the card that I wanted to show you today - where I use Fairy Queen for my image - one of the beautiful images illustrated by the supertalented Carmen Medlin. Coloured her with my copics. DP from SU.

Wanted to practise more to use softer colours. Those of you that know me - know that I love red and bolder colours ;-) But I'm actually very pleased with the result - so you might see me using softer colours more often.
Added a few pearls made with my Viva pens. Punched out a few branches with my Martha Stewart punch and added a few flowers. I didn't want to add too many embellies - since I love the DP and want the beautiful Fairy Queen to be in the spotlight.

Hope you like her!
Kramis and have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Crush

hi all!

i have a little Valentine card for you! This one came together quickly!
The patterned paper is from the Bo Bunny Crush 6x6 collection (on discount in the store right now!) I used three stamps from the Inkadinkado inchie flourishes set. i mounted them on a piece of super glittery Best Creations cardstock. Next i took an all white flower (susana has lots to choose from) and gave it a good mist with Tsukineko psst Shimmer Spritz in sheer silver and then edged the petals with red ink. i finished it off with a red Prima Jewelry center. i punched the bottom of my cardstock with a border punch and then highlighted it by inking and adding teeny red pearls with my Viva Pearl Pen. finally i added a very subtle (2 floss strands) line of stitching above the border using the Sew Easy tool.

There are so many fun things to play with at SCACD! i am a big fan of variety!

i hope you have a fun weekend planned! thanks so much for stopping by!

Gone Fishing

I am the mom of two sons, no daughters.  I find that there are many adorable little girls as stamp images, but many less cute boys.  This one, is one I really love though.  It is called Gone Fishing and is drawn by Elisabeth Bell exclusively for SCACD.  It is part of the Sampler Edition 5 set.
I first stamped the image on some of the solid paper in the Pink Paislee Queen Bee paper pack (currently on sale!).  I then shaded/colored it with my warm grey markers.  The striped, polka dot and solid dark grey paper are all from the Pink Paislee Queen Bee paper pack as well.  These paper packs make is super easy to coordinate papers and I LOVE that!!  No digging around looking for something that matches, getting it all made up and then seeing it natural light and realizing it doesn't really match.

So- think spring for some fishing opportunities and if you are looking for some fabulous boy stamp images, Susana at SCACD has several!

There are also some wonderful new products in the store to check out.  Like this, this and THIS!

Wishing you a Cheerful Day

I'm really feeling the need to create more mini cards using Spring or Summer colours ;-) I know I need to wait - but at least I can pretend that it will get warmer soon.... The snow has actually started to melt here in Sweden - but that's because we've had 1 or 2 days of rain (I do prefer snow) - so these days we need to have our skates on to get to our car ;-) It's sooo icy........I might look like Bambi on ice;-)

Anyway here's one of the results from my "get into the Spring/Summer mood feeling" - Julia. Coloured her with my copics.
And then I only added a ribbon and a few pearls - since I wanted the lovely DP and the image to be in the center.

Hope you like her!

Happy Hearts

Happy Monday friends! Today I have a fun shaped card sharing Winter Emma ....she begged to be colored so this is what I came up with!
I had so much fun making this round card!  Papers are from Bo Bunny Crazy Love collection (which Susana happens to have 15% off right now...hurry and get yours before it's all gone...this pad is absolutely gorgeous!!!)

Winter Emma was colored with Copics and accented with a white gel pen.  Then I took my star dust stickles and accented her scarf, ear muffs and the bottom edge of her sweater!
The beautiful heart baubble was made using some of these beautiful Bo Bunny papers and my Epiphany Crafts Solid Heart tool!  Seriously is you haven't gotten any of these fun tools yet you really need too.  These make creating one of a kind and matching embellies so fun and are SUPER easy to use!

Hope you all have a great week!

A Trio of Butterflies

This is an ornament I made for my sister this past Christmas. Her Christmas tree was decorated in silver, purple, pink and blue, so those are the colors I used. Sorry for the poor photo... believe it or not, this is the best of all the pictures I took!

The image is a beautiful butterfly from Carmen Medlin's Reflections Set #1 for SCACD. This stamp is a bonus and is only available when purchasing the set. You can find it Here.

To achieve this look, I first stamped the image three times and embossed in silver. I used copic markers for coloring and covered them with Diamond Glaze and Glamour Dust (NOW 15% OFF!). I let it sit overnight... I decided that the rest of the ornament was too plain, so I gave the entire ornament a thick coat of Diamond Glaze and more lovely Glamour Dust. It is very very sparkly :)

That's it from me today : ) Thank you for taking a peek!

SEW EASY NEWS
Now back in stock at SCACD! This popular new tool is ready to go home with you. There are a number of fun attachment tools you'll want to see also... Get yours while you can!

Love and blessings ~

undersea beauty

good morning!

we have been doing open challenges for TIOT - meaning we can do whatever we want :) FUN! i colored up this stunning stamp by Carmen Medlin - Pearl Princess - she is part of the Reflection's set. This is a truly gorgeous set of women!!! When you buy the full set you also get TWO free accessory stamps!
my patterned paper is from Gypsy Sister by Kaisercraft - i LOVE the flocked damask pattern! Susana carries the most amazing array of 6"x6" paper pads - this way i can collect them ALL!!! i tied a nice big double bow with sheer ribbon using my Bow Easy - never thought something so simple could be so incredibly USEFUL. really a must have for ANYONE who ever needs a ribbon now! I enhanced the bow with a chipboard embellishment from my favorite Maya Road mini Decorative scrolls set and a flower from an all white collection - these are great because i can easily custom color them for any project i have! Susana carries a BUNCH of all white selections for just that! i quickly mixed up my own pearl mist using Perfect Pearls, water and a bit of reinker in a mister bottle and gave the scroll and flower a generous mist - PERFECTION!

I colored my gorgeous mermaid lady with Copics and did some highlighting with Spica Glitter pens - still my favored choice when adding glitter to a stamped image. Try as i might i could NOT get the shimmering goodness of the scroll and flower to show up in the pics :(

NOW if you want to check out more purely glittering goodness you MUST check out the 6x6 paper pads from best creations susana just uploaded. the pictures DO NOT do it justice - i guarantee when these arrive at your house you will be floored at the amazing beauty of these papers!

i hope you all have a fabulous weekend!!!

Little Acorn

This is a cutie called Little Acorn drawn by Victoria Case exclusively for SCACD

After coloring her, I went looking for some paper to match and found this fabulous Basic Grey in my stash just begging to be used.  I grabbed a sketch and set to work.

The fun flower actually started out as a plain white one.  Nothing a little Smooch in Pink Sparkle followed by some Shimmerz in Silver to tone it down can't fix.  Give it a shot!  Nothing says fun like customizing your embellishments.  I promise!!

Angel of Hope for You!

Hello Crafty Friends!  Today I'm using a very special image for a special cause (read more on my blog here)!  This angel "Angel of Hope" is by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD and it's very special too---everytime someone purchases this stamp (at anytime) SCACD will donate $1 to Breast Cancer Research!  So you get a beautiful image and help out women at the same time--what a great deal dontcha' think?!  If you have a crafty friend going thru struggles with cancer this would be a beautiful gift to give them--a stamp they can use and money toward the cause!

The beautiful papers I used are from Memory Box called "Gossamer"--I love the soft and soothing tones! I wish you could see how soft and sparkly this is in real life--so pretty!  I distressed the edges of all my papers with my Zutter Distress Tool and those pretty angel-wing-like ornaments on each side of my image are by Pink Paislee-Artisan Collection.  They are cream grungeboard and I actually got the ornament in half so I could put it on each side of my image--but they can be painted, spritzed or sanded too.  I added some stickles to the insides of each ornament for a soft sparkle as well.  The layered flowers are all by Prima and the pearl swirls are as well.

The angel image was colored with copics (RV11,RV10,RV000/E53,E51,E50/E11,E00) very softly to match the pastel tones.  The soft background was done with copics too (BG0000,BG10,W00,E50,YG0000) and I will have a video on how to do this soon, I have to wait until I sound normal again, LOL!  Then I took a couple stamps from my Paper Trey Ink Collection (Text Basics and Vintage Labels) and stamped them very lightly on the edges of the image.  I stamped her wings twice and colored them--then popped them up on graduating dimensionals so they pop up farther from her body as they go out.  They got a nice coat of Stickles and then while the stickles were wet I sprinkled them with Glamour Dust(15% off)--the sparkle is sooooo pretty!  I wanted a bit of sparkle on her gown as well but I wanted it to be soft--so I took my Quickie Glue Pen and traced a few of the lines on her gown and then sprinkled more Glamour Dust on them.

Love the Glamour Dust?  Well they have NEW Glamour Dust paints out now that are beeee-u-tiful (see this project here) and SCACD has them all in stock HERE!

Enjoy your day!

LOVE AND THANKS

Good Morning !! I have a special treat for you today. As you know, I was in Colorado visiting my daughter's family. I left some of my stamped images behind and my 11 year old granddaughter made a card using the same image I chose to make a card with this week. Kinda ironic. She took pics and sent them to me so I told her I would post on my blog.

This sweet image is "Love's Unspoken Bond" from Carmen Medlin Reflections Set #1. This set is so versatile.

We both colored our images with Copics. My daughter is a CTMH consultant so she has lots of paper, goodies and some Copics. Mackenzie (my granddaughter) is just learning to color with them so I told her to visit Suzanne's Blog and watch the videos she has so graciously made. She also offers online classes if anyone is interested.

I used some of the new products from SCACD to accent my card. The hearts on the skirt were stamped separately and then I used DecoArt Glamour Dust Ultra Fine Glitter Paint for sparkle.
If you click on the pics to enlarge them you can really see the sparkle. The pink background paper has been sprayed with Maya Mist. These two products have to be my fav. I usually use only Stardust Stickles because it is ultrafine glitter, I was so happy to see the Glamour Paints in so many colors. To finish the card I made some bows with my Bow Easy.

Susana has some BEAUTIFUL BEST CREATIONS PAPER PACKS. They are gorgeous !! I am sure these will go quickly.

What I find amazing about Mackenzie's card is there is not any DP paper - only cardstock. She made this card late at night and without any help. I think she did a nice job with the layout, colors, and stamping the sentiment.

Thank you for stopping by and if you have time please leave Mackenzie a comment and let her know what you think.

Have a wonderful week !!

Hugs,

A new sparkle to love....

It's no secret that I love sparkle. When in doubt, add sparkle is my motto. Can I just say that I am seriously in LOVE with the new glitter paint that SCACD is carrying?

Seriously, Susana had told me the glitter factor was off the charts but seeing is believing and well, I'm a believer!!

It paints on so wonderfully, no globs, no areas with more glitter than others...it's just magical. I secretly think fairies must make it as it's as close to pixie dust as I've seen.

I painted some chipboard with it to try it out and wow...I just love the sparkle so much I haven't been able to bring myself to use these flutter by's on a project yet..hehe, I keep them by my workspace so I can see sparkles all the time!!

So, if you're a sparkle addict like me, run, don't walk to SCACD and get you some!! You won't be sorry!!!

MAMM: time for some love!

hi all! happy monday!
today is the second monday of the month and that means me and any of the other DTs who want to play - use some of the cool stuff in the store to Make A Mess. although today's is not very messy at all but still fun and off the beaten path so to speak :) today i used a couple of the different foil products in the store - Clearsnap and Spellbinders.
and i also kicked off the next holiday - Valentine's Day - in my craft room hee hee!

i don't usually do a whole lot of Valentine's Day stuff but i will need a couple cards and some treats for Hollyn to give to her class mates :) I have NO stamping on this card ACK! i started with some papers from the Bo Bunny Crush 6x6 pad.

Next i used Clearsnap Design Adhesives and Tonertex foil on a piece of white cardstock. This is such a cool and easy process. The Design Adhesives are just that - the designs are pure adhesive that you lay face down on your cardstock, then rub the back and peel up - the adhesive design is now on your paper! then i laid a red Tonertex foil sheet on top - red side up - and rubbed again - the red foil sticks to the adhesive!

Next i made a cute 3D embellishment using Spellbinders Foil Sheets - i used a red one for both since it is silver on the back. I ran it through my Cuttlebug with a Spellbinders Pendant die and then on the red one i sanded a bit so the silver would show through. i love the SHINE these foils give the card! So check out these great foil-y goodies in the store and see what YOU can create!

hugs

Sending my love

Happy Saturday to you all!

Have you taken down your X-mas decorations yet? We'll do so next week - since we have a saying in Sweden "20:a Knut dansas julen ut" = When Knut has his nameday - then we dance the X-mas away (= January 13th). I can't believe it how fast the X-mas holiday went - and now we are moving very fast towards Valentines day. That's what gave me the inspiration to create a little mailbox for either love letters or some sweet treats for that special someone. Template is from My Time Made Easy.

I needed to create a matching card of course and decided to use one of my very first illustrations that turned into a stamp thanks to Susana - Emilia with heart.

Coloured her with my copics and added a few pearls, lace and flowers. DP from my local craft store.  And finally - here's a pic of the "Love kit" ;-)

Hope you like it and once again - have a fab weekend!

Lacey Hearts!

Hello everyone! Okay I created a card with NO coloring--gasp--shocker I know! I got these beautiful new heart stamps from Lockhart Stamp Co. from my pal Susana at SCACD (see the whole new collection here)! This image is called "Lace Heart" and I love the fine details drawn into it--so very elegant! They were just calling out to be used so I based the card around the image! My sketch is based on the Verve Weekly Challenge HERE that I found on my friend Amy Scheffer's blog. She always has the best sketches posted and her work is beautiful so if you haven't been to see her you should go (run, go now)! I was feeling like I was in a rut so when I was blog hopping and saw this sketch I knew I needed to give it a go as it's different shaped than what I usually do. It's good to mix it up and challenge yourself now & again right? RIGHT? LOL!

All of my papers are from the Kaisercraft "After Five" paper pad--the patterns are beautiful and all done in shades of gray, black and off white. Some of the papers are foiled as well, nice & shiny! I used cs in dove gray, silver and black for my matting and then the borders were done with my MS border punches. The scrolls were done with my Marianne Designs dies and those pretty flowers come in a small paint can in the Michaels store wedding section. They are perfect for airbrushing, coloring or spritzing--you get like 200 in the tin. I stacked 3 together and punched a small hole in the center and put a pearl brad in the center--easy and pretty!

I inked up "Lace Heart" with Versamark ink and embossed it onto black cardstock. I used the Stewart Superior "Filigree" embossing powder in silver to emboss this stamp--it is the BEST ep to use when you have a fine detailed image like this as it keeps its shape and doesn't meld all over the place. After embossing it I cut it out and added small pearl accents with my Viva Decor Pearl Pen (ice white) and some stickles too! The mat cut behind her was done with my SB's nesties Labels 15 and then embossed with the CB folder "swiss dots".

So pretty and elegant and very different from what I usually create--I LIKE it, LOL! I think it would be perfect for weddings, anniversaries and Valentine's Day! So make sure to check out the NEW Lockhart Stamp Co stamps here at SCACD!

Enjoy your weekend,
Suzanne J Dean
