I just wanted to wish you all a HAPPY NEW  YEAR and of course show you one of my very last cards for 2010! So here you have First Sign of Fall.

I wanted to use her so that you can see that she's perfect for any occasion. Coloured her with my copics of course. Added a stickles for New Years Spark ;-). The star ribbon is from my stash as well as the DPs.

Friends - Victoria Case for SCACD: The Yearling

I’m in no way finished with Christmas cards for this year…as usual I’m very last minute and disorganised. BUT I still couldn’t resist inking up this adorable new stamp by Victoria Case for SCACD Stamps!

THE YEARLING is, in my opinion, utterly irresistible! Full of Victoria Case charm, and utterly adorable with it!

If you’re in the US you can of course grab this stamp from Susana at Susana’s Custom Art & Card Design. If you’re in the UK/Europe you can find it at my store - Quixotic Paperie.

Coloured with Copic markers (I will return to listing these in the new year, when all is a little less hectic and a little more organised). Papers are Pink Paislee – Old School. Lettering was done using rub-ons.

Presenting "Guardian of Hearth & Home" by Carmen Medlin for SCACD

I had a wonderful time using this new stamp by Carmen Medlin---this fairy image would be perfect for ANY SEASON or holiday just by changing up the papers and colors! I wanted her to be a Winter Fairy and I colored her and the background with Copics.

To make her wings and dress accents even frostier I added Stardust (or Diamond) Stickles THEN while they were wet I sprinkled Glamour Dust on top! Whoa Nelly--the sparkle is FABULOUS! Then I used my Quikie Glue Pen to add spots of Glamour Dust to the background to look like flakes of ice and snow. The snow at the bottom is MS Snow Glitter. The papers are by Bo Bunny, rhinestones by Zva Designs and bow was made with the Bow Easy. For the snowflakes peeking out behind the border, those are Marianne Designs dies snowflakes--they add a pretty border especially when cut out of sparkly navy cs!

Hope you enjoyed this project and make sure to scroll down to see projects by the whole DT using these great NEW STAMPS!

Happy Holidays,

Guardian of Hearth & Home Tag

For my project today I have used the new Carmen Medlin for SCACD Stamps design - GUARDIAN OF HEARTH & HOME. Isn't she gorgeous? You can also find Guardian of Hearth & Home in the UK/Europe at my store - Quixotic Paperie.

Carmen Medlin for SCACD Stamps - Guardian of Hearth & Home - available at www.quixoticpaperie.co.uk
I was feeling a little inspired by Tim Holtz and his Twelve Tags of Christmas posts, so I decided to create a tag to hang on my Christmas tree. I've used a couple of Tim Holtz Alterations Dies and one of his Texture Fades embossing folders. I also coloured the tag using Distress Inks and Glimmer Mist prior to embossing the snowflake design.

I coloured the gorgeous image using Copic Markers and accented with Glamour Dust on her wings, and Viva Decor Gloss Gel - Transparent on the snowglobe in her hand.

I'm a little in love - this image is definitely a new favourite, and I'm already planning more projects with her. There may even be a colouring video on the way soon!

First - Winter friends by Elisabeth Bell!

Winter Friends

Today SCACD is releasing 3 stamps! One from Carmen Medlin for SCACD, one from Victoria Case for SCACD and one from Elisabeth Bell for SCACD.

These are images that are "From The Vault"-meaning that Susana will release images occasionally "just because". How fun is that?

Today I'm showing you the image from Elisabeth Bell for SCACD~ Winter Friends. Isn't this image just so darling? and so sweet!!

Now head to SCACD and order yours!! I know you'll want them all! And while you're there, look around, Susana has the best selection of goodies to choose from!!

The little details~ Winter Friends, Memento Tuxedo Black, copics, Memory Box Spiceberry, copic multi-liner, nestabilities, Daiquiri Ice Sparkly Fluff, Polar White Flower Soft, SU border punch, ribbon, Petaloo flower,

The Yearling New Release!

Today I have a fun new image by Victoria Case for SCACD. This stamp is from The Vault section at Susana's Custom Art & Card Design! When I first saw The Yearling, I thought 'winter' even though she's not bundled up in her snow gear. She very easily could be in another Season such as Autumn or Spring. Can you envision her in the forest along with Thumper? I'm talking about the Bambi movie of course! The Yearling is definitely a darling versatile stamp!

I've stamped the image with Memento ink on Cryogen White and colored with copics. All panels have been stitched with my sewing machine. I think I'm finally getting the hang of it! I really love the look of stitching; I think it adds so much charm!

Here's a close up where you can see that my bottle of Diamond Glaze allowed too much to come out of the tip LOL! Her eyes are very shiny though... I also used my embossing tool to pick up some Diamond Glaze I had poured out on a scrap piece of paper to 'trace' over part of the sentiment. Can you see the Diamond Glaze on the word 'snow'? The papers, mittens and sentiment are from Nitwit. I love how everything coordinates : )

After I printed the precolored mittens, I cut them out and 'distressed' them using Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink and added a bit of Viva Decor Glitter Liner on the ribbon as well as a spot of Diamond Glaze on the button. I decided that they needed to hang on one side of the card, so I glued two pieces of cord the proper length to the back of each mitten and attached the top under the bow and added a button coated with Diamond Glaze on top.

For snow, I made 'snail trails' with Viva Decor Glitter Liner. Her hair bows, collar and cuffs also got a smidge of Glitter Liner. I used my white gel pen for the polka dots and highlights and finished off the card with pearls in the corners using my Opal Paper Pen - which I absolutely LOVE!!!

I hope you've enjoyed my card! Be sure to take a peek at the other NEW RELEASES which are now available! Here and Here.

Love and blessings ~

Hearth and Home

There are some new images in the From The Vault section available at SCACD.  This is an area where some of the exclusive to SCACD images by artists are released in singles and there are new ones by THREE of the artists right NOW!  I was very fortunate and got to work with Guardian of Hearth and Home by Carmen Medlin.
As I am certain everyone has figured out by now, I loooooooooooooooooooooooove fairies.  This one is no exception.  I really adore the way she has the globe with a home in her hand like she is protecting it.  I decided to turn this image into a frosty winter fairy for Christmas.  Doesn't pink, blue and silver just scream Christmas to you?  Well, winter at least? The image is colored almost completely with Spica pens and the globe is covered with Diamond Glaze to really emphasize the look.  That center of the flower is one of the amazing Prima Flower flower centers.

HI FRIEND - NEW RELEASE !!

Good Morning!! It is a frosty morning here !! Not as bad as the Northeast. We only have the cold and winds, but no snow.

Susana is releasing 3 New Stamps today. These are "From the Vault" stamps.

Elisabeth Bell for SCACD - "Winter Friends"
Carmen Medlin for SCACD - "Guardian of Hearth and Home"
Victoria Case for SCACD - "The Yearling"

This image is Victoria Case for SCACD "The Yearling". I just loooove the little fawn and the delightful smile on the little girl's face.

Have you ever had days where in your head you imagined something, but it just didn't turn out that way? KWIM That's kinda the case for my card today. The image is colored with Copics and highlighted with Stickles. I used Flower Soft Ultra Fine - Sand for the ground covering. I was trying to get it to look like dirt or sand.

The DP is "That's Amore" from CTMH. I liked the name of the paper for this image. I think the image is pure love., but then I am an animal lover. I found the flowers in my stash. They are from Prima and go perfectly. The ribbon is the final touch.

Thank you for stopping by this busy busy time of the year. Be sure to check out the other DT projects.

HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!!

A Pink Winter!

I have a fun PINK creation to share with you all today!  I absolutely had a ball making this card!  If you follow my blog you know that PINK is my ultimate favorite color....my hubby teases me and tells everyone that when we build our house it will most likely have pink siding! ROFL!!!  Well maybe not that...but I can guarantee my craft room will be PINK!!!
I've used Look Out Below by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD, she's one of the newest stamp at the store right now!! She comes in the Winter Sampler Collection...and I have to tell you I absolutely LOVE this set!  The pink paper is from the Bo Bunny Doodles collection, which was matted with white cs and silver metallic cs.  The panel that this cutie is popped up on has been embossed with my Cuttlebug snowflake folder and then the panel was spritzed with Maya Road Iridescent Pearl Mist!  OMG do I LOVE the pearl-essence effect that this mist gives...it's definitely a must have!!!  The embossed panel is accented self adhesive pearls....but the Viva Decor Magenta Pearl Pen would be perfect to make customized matching pearls with as well!  The bow was made with my fantastic Bow Easy...this seriously is an amazing product to have...I haven't made a bow without it since I bought mine almost 2 years ago!
Of course this cutie pie was colored with Copics and accented with a white gel pen.  The pom pom on her hat, bow on her hair, snowflakes on her mittens, boots, and scarf have been accented with Illuminate Smooch!  The tassels on the end of her scarf were made with some embroidery floss. Then to make it appear as if she is sledding down a hill I added some Liquid Applique to the bottom of her sled.

I hope you've enjoyed this cutie!  If you haven't checked out the Messy Crews Make A Mess Monday posts scroll down to see what Marti and I have created using some fabulous products from the SCACD Store...they are PERFECT for Christmas Gifts!!!!

jewelry fun!

hi all!

it's the second monday of the month so that means it is time to make a mess with some of the fantastic goodies susana has been bringing into her store lately!

one of the best is the cool jewelry findings HERE - quite a lot to choose from and using it to make your own custom jewelry is really fun and EASY with some of the other things susana carries in the shop. despite not having discussed it with each other kim and i were on the same wave length this week and both had some swirling fun with Viva Decor!

i started with a big rectangular silver base. Next i filled it with a thin layer of crystal clear glass gel. i added lines of blackberry and green glass effects gel and then dragged the tip of a pin through from top to bottom and vice versa. you can find a variety of colors in susana's store. you could further enhance this in so many ways - glamour dust, dropping little beads in, adding larger beads near the top on the pendant bail...be sure to scroll down and check out all of the cool things kim did with these!!!

MAMM #6 - A Girl's Best Friend

Welcome to SCACD Make A Mess Monday....the messy team has decided to bring you our fun on the 2nd Monday of the Month instead of the first!!!  Today we have some FUN FUN FUN for you!  Today we are showcasing JEWELRYJewelry is every girl's best friend....isn't it?!  Well it is mine and I had a BLAST making these necklace pendants!  Susana carries ALL of the products to make these in her store...so if you get your order in quick you just might be able to make some jewelry to give as Christmas Gifts!

My first pendant is made using the silver rectangle finding that you can find -->here<--!  I then took some Blue Flash particles and sprinkled them in the finding.  After that I took my Viva Decor Glitter Liner in Hologram and filled in the pendant....look at all the sparkle that the Viva pen gives once it is dry...and mixed with the Blue Flash it's stunning!

These next pendants were made using the round pendants that you can find -->here<--!  These were actually designed using Viva Decor Pearl Pens.  The one on the left is made using Black and Light Blue.  The one in the middle is made using Ice White and Violet, and the one on the right is made using Black and Ice White.  To make them I:
1.  First took my background color....in most cases the black and filled in the pendant so it was almost level
2.  Then I took my next color and put a drop onto the end of a tooth pick
3.  I placed the toothpick into the black that was already in the pendant finding and swirled the two colors together (but not too much or the two colors would totally mix and wouldn't show the swirls).
4.  Then I repeated steps 2 and 3 until I liked the finish effect.
Then you have to let the Viva dry/cure, I let mine sit for a few days.  Make sure to have them lay flat to dry.
Then take a paint brush and lightly coat on a layer of diamond glaze to seal your pendant.  Again let the diamond glaze totally dry before placing the pendant onto a necklace.
Here is another batch of the Viva Swirl Pendants!  These are made with the black pendant findings that you can find -->here<--.  I personally love these black findings the best, especially if you are using black as your background color.   These were made using the same technique above and colors are from left to right: Black and Cream; Black and Magenta; Black and Kiwi; and Black and Ice White.

Susana carries MANY DIFFERENT SIZE Pendants, click -->HERE<-- to go and see her amazing selection!  Don't be afraid to experiment because you never know what you can put together.  These were all made by experimenting and I have to tell you I absolutely LOVE them!!!

I Heart Ya!

Today I have a fun project to share with you!  At my last craft show I had a customer order a reuseable notepad holder for her 19 year old daughter for Christmas!  And this is what I came up with:

I thought it turned out absolutely beautiful....I so love when things turn out better then planned!  I hope my customer likes it as much as I do! :) I've used the cutie pie I Heart Ya by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD from the Sampler Edition #3.  Isn't she so sweet....perfect for any occasion....birthday, sympathy, thinking of you, or any holiday!  Papers are from K&Company Amy Butler Lotus collection!

This little darling was colored with Copics and accented with a white gel pen.  I've popped her up onto a SB Labels 14 which was matted with a nellie snellen die which was accented with pearls, I've used self adhesive pearls...but you know you can use my FAVORITE Viva Decor Pearl Pens to make you own pearls too!!!

Finally I took some white fabric Thickers and airbrushed  them to match my color theme and then added lots of Diamond Stickles to add some sparkle to the project.

I hope you have enjoyed the project!  I forgot to take a picture of the inside before I packaged it up for shipping!  I am going to be making some more of these so I will make sure to remember to take a picture of the inside for you then! :)

Fresh Snow!!

Well today I'm sharing with you all my favorite holiday card I've made this season!  I love the crisp whites and blues because they are so elegant but scream FROSTY FUN!!  I used a wonderful Elisabeth Bell for SCACD image called "Look Out Below"--isn't she fabulous and fun?  I didn't put a sentiment on this card because I thought it could be used for the holidays OR for any winter occasion like a birthday or hello!

The papers I used are from Dovecrafts in the UK and this is a discontinued paper pack but guess what?  Susana has 4 rare packs LEFT HERE--buy them now cuz they are sooo pretty and you cannot get them anywhere else!  But if you miss out on the 4 above don't despair, Bo Bunny has a paper pad that is super similar called "Midnight Frost" (15% off too) that is beautiful too!  The white paper is actually SEI Velvet Paper (so very yummy) and it embosses beautifully and is soft to touch--see the below photo for a close up. (You NEED velvet paper I tell ya--it's fun and so pretty)  I added stickles to the embossing for some extra sparkle too!  I cut my main image out and then popped her up on top of the Velvet embossed paper and matted it with a Lacey Circles Nestability shape.  Then I punched 4 of the Jumbo Snowflakes from a MS punch and added them behind the circles for a pretty frame (and yep added stickles to the snowflakes).  A bow made with my Bow Easy and some pearls finish it off nicely!

She got colored with Copics (B39,B37,B34,B32/C3,C1,C00/E29,E25,E31,E50/YR24,YR20,E31) and then I went to town with my products, lol!  The fringe on her scarf got the NEW Navy Sparkly Fluff and her hat pom-pom and sweater trim got white Sparkly Fluff (lovee that stuff)!  Some stickles on her scarf stripes and then I added a thin coat of tacky glue to the bottom of her sled and put MS Snow Glitter on top for some frosty snow accents!

Hope you enjoyed this post and wishing you all some frosty holiday fun this weekend!

Holiday Hugz,
Suzanne J Dean
