Angel of Hope

Hi Friends~
The card I am sharing today is going to a VERY SPECIAL person, her name is Elise!  Elise is going through a very difficult time right now, as she was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.  Her story of course tugs at my heart so much, as my mother in law is a breast cancer survivor!  I've decided to create a card for Elise to let her know she is not alone in this fight, and that I am sending many prayers for her speedy remission! :)  Hugs to you hun!!!!  Cheryl has a Card Drive for Elise going on right now...please click -->here<-- to find out all the details!
For my card I've use the Angel of Hope stamp from the Mini Sampler Edition #1 by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD
Susana (owner of SCACD) is donating $1 to
Breast Cancer Research for every
Angel of Hope stamp that is purchased!
And this isn't just for October,
this is EVERY time the Angel of Hope Stamp is
purchased (in the set or as a single stamp)!!!
I love this stamp....she is so gorgeous and can be used for many occasions, such as for mine today, or for Christmas, or a thinking of you, or you are in my prayers type of card.  I used some Making Memory Breast Cancer Collection papers.  Star Dust Stickles was used to gliterize all the flowers.  I've used three different strands of ribbon to create my awareness ribbon and finished off with the gemstone ribbon!
My Angel was colored with Copics and accented with a Sakura star dust pen.  The frame my angel was popped up on is made with my Slice....I recently got a Slice and am soooo in love with it!  The pearls on my frame were made with my Viva Decor Light Carmine Paper Pen
From this view you can see that I have cut the angel's wings apart and popped the one wing up higher than the other for dimension!  I love the 3D look you can get with this beautiful stamp!

Now Help Support the Cause and go and purchase your Angel of Hope stamp today! :)

You are My Sunshine

Have you heard about the NEW ARTIST coming to SCACD?  Only a few more days until the release!!!  There's a ton o fun coming up on the 29th... don't miss it!  Also, BLOG CANDY fun is happening NOOOOOWWWW!!!

This is Flowers for Mom by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD mini Sampler Edition #1.  Isn't she sweet?  I began with stamping this cutie with Memento Ink on Cryogen White paper.  I reached for my fave copics for coloring.  Clothing and flowers - RV99 RV95 RV93 RV91; Skin - E11 E21 E00 R20; Hair - E35 E34 YR24 Y21; Leaves - G28 G24 G21 G20; Wagon - E18 E17 E15 E13 C9 C7 C5; Bear - E55 E53 E51; Flower pots - YG03 YG01 YG000.

For the 'must have' bling, I've stickled her headband, pant cuffs and flowers.  How do you like the sewing?  I'm trying to remember to incorporate this into my cards more often.  I really enjoy the way it adds to the cards...

A first for me!!!  I colored a length of white ribbon to match my card.  I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was.  I chose a middle tone of the RVs I used to color the clothing.  I used the chisel end of my copic marker and let dry for about 10 minutes.  I'm sure you don't have to wait that long, but I didn't want to take any chances lol!  To the yummy ribbon, I attached a sweet little butterfly - I just loveee butterflies : )

Sentiment by My Time Made Easy, stamped with Versafine Ink in Vintage Sepia.  For the finishing touch, I've added another 'must have' which are pearls!!!  Yes, one of my most favorite products in the whole world... Opal Paper Pen by Viva Decor.  I have recently added three new colors to my stash lol!!!

That's my little project today... I hope you liked it : )

If you haven't done so already, you'll want to enter the Reflections BLOG CANDY!  Hurry, ends October 28 at 11 pm EST.  See post at the top.

Love and blessings ~

Rose Petal Love

Hi Friends~ Today I have a fun project to share with you!  When I first saw the Rose Petal stamp in the New Mini Sampler Edition #1 by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD I immediately thought of Anne Geddes!  I have admired Anne's photography forever.  If you are unaware of Anne Geddes she takes fabulous childrens photographs!  Some day when I have children I am hoping to have some fun baby pictures influenced by Miss. Geddes and now by Elisabeth Bell with her brilliant beauty!
I found this gorgeous shadow box/photo frame on one of my shopping excursions.  It actually was a compose your own monogram frame...however, when I saw it I knew I could add some beautiful flowers, and a gorgeous image to make this a beautiful wall hanging.
Rose Petal was colored with CopicsStar Dust stickles was used to accent the rose on top of her head.  I wanted to use my Champagne Pink Roses, so that is what inspired me to color the roses on my image the pink and yellow that they are.  The background that Rose Petal was popped up on has been created with Viva Decor Pearl Champagne Modeling Cream and my Dreamweaver Flower Lace Stencil.  I love how using the Modeling cream and stencil adds such an elegant look to this amazing image!
Here you can see the beautiful flower arrangements.
For this angle I am hoping you can see all of the sparkle as well as the beauty from the Viva Modeling Cream!  Thanks for stopping in to see my creation!

Make sure you sign up for the
NEW ARTIST Blog Candy above!!!

Holiday Joy--TIOT!

Today I have another Christmas card for you!  I send about 25-30 handmade cards out for the holiday so this is #5, lol, 20+ more to go, yikes!  I love, love Lockhart Stamp Co images--they're always fun to color and a nice break from the "cutesy" stamps that I usually create with.  This image is available at SCACD and its called "Christmas Candles & Presents"--see the whole new collection HERE!  This card is also for this week's TRY IT OUT CHALLENGE and this week I challenged the team with a sketch--see the store blog for more fab DT projects with this sketch I created!  I flipped the sketch for my card :)

I used the new paper pad from Basic Grey called "Jovial"--I love the elegant papers and the touches of black--very cool!   I used some NEW Petaloo Velvet poinsettia flowers and the pine branches were made with this die from Marianne Designs (love this). I bent the pine needles up a bit to make them look more realistic.  Three black buttons from PTI and threaded with red/white string finish it off!

Some stickles on the candles and pine needles and diamond glaze on the Xmas ornaments finish it off nicely.  The sentiment is from a new holiday set from PTI!

Have a wonderful weekend!
hugz,
Suzanne J Dean

TIOT on Friday!

Hi Everyone~

Yes, it's Friday and I am finally posting my TIOT!  Sorry it's a day late...it's been a crazy school week! This week, which I am sure you have seen, Suzanne has challenged us to use a super fun sketch!
I decided to use the super fun Little Sprite from the New Mini Little Acorns Collection by Victoria Case for SCACD for my card.  Papers are from the Basic Grey Euphoria Collection.

Little Sprite was colored with Copics and accented with a white gel pen.  I've used the two different color technique that I also made on -->this little acorn card<--.  She's been popped up on top of a SB Labels 14 which was then popped up on top of a SB Labels 4.  The glitter around the edge of the Labels 14 has been created with my TonerTex pen and glitters, I've used the teal colored glitter.  I've also used the TonerTex Foils on the middle of the flowers of Sprite's dress.

These gorgeous Epoxy Baubles were made using the Epiphany Crafts Solid Round 14 Maker and Round 14 Bubble Caps. If you haven't read my post on the Epiphany Crafts, click -->HERE<-- to go and see more info regarding them!  They truly are amazing products!

SHOPPING NEWS~ SCACD has gotten some AMAZING NEW paper pads in!  Check out the Brand New Kaisercraft After 5 , English Rose. and Seaside!  Then there are also Brand New Webster Pages Santa/Sweet Season and Wonder Fall/Hollywood Vogue! All of these are amazing...I just ordered mine today...and can't wait to get them!  While you are at the store make sure you check out the Viva Decor products, Susana recently reduced the price of the AMAZING Pearl Pens!  Happy Shopping!

hi all!

Suzanne gave us a wonderful sketch to play with this week. i have been in halloween/fall/christmas mode so i thought i would take a break and create a party card:

my patterned papers are from the Fairy Flora 6x6 paper pad - this pad is a GORGEOUS collection of soft watercolor-type paterns.

i used Boho Chick by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD for my image. she is stamped with black memento ink and colored with copics. i highlighted her shirt with a Purple Glittering Spica pen and her bracelet with a Lilac Glittering Spica pen. i cut her out with Spellbinders Labels 14 - i am lovin' this shape!

My flower embellie is a CUSTOM EMBELLIE. why? because i made it myself and it was SO easy! i have a flower shaped button (Tim Holtz perhaps...) and once i use it, it's gone. SO i have extended its life in a way. i started with some Melt Art Mold N Pour. This stuff is SO simple - just mix a bit of the two "cakes" together, push your item into it and remove, let it harden. Now you have a perfect little mold to use with your clay! i used Hearty air dry clay to make things easy. all i have is white so i made purple (with gold shimmer) by mixing in some Lumiere paint! Susana has TWO combo packs available in the store so you can make lots of different colors! Once your paint is mixed in you are ready to mold it. Simply pinch off a bit, roll it into a ball and press it into your mold you have made. Take it out - if there is excess clay around the outside of your molded shape you can cut it with a cutter. since mine is round i used the set of round Makins cutters. I let the clay flower dry overnight. then simply stick it on with glue dots. now i am looking around to see what else i can make a mold with!

i hope you all have a fun weekend planned!

hugs

It's Clay Time!

Yes! I've finally used CLAY! I've been wanting to get my hands 'dirty' with clay for the longest time. Even though there's not a lot of it on this card, I soooooo enjoyed it :) You can get your own clay Here. It's super lightweight and easy to work with as it air dries!

So here's my take on Suzanne's FABULOUS sketch for this week's Try It Out *T*! I will definitely be using this again very soon : ) Back to the clay... lol! I asked my hubby if they resembled nuts and bolts and he said yes, so that's good enough for me! After I molded the clay pieces and let them dry, they received a coat of Viva Decor Platinum Inka-Gold. I wanted a darker silver color, so I topped that with Silver Leafing Pen.

Pretty cool, huh? This is Spyder by Victoria Case for SCACD, mini Little Acorns Set. He's colored with copics: BG75 BG72 BG32; C9 C7 C5 C2. Easy!

Take a look at that spider on his hat... Diamond Glaze makes him pop out - ewwwwww! His eyes and shoes also got a nice coat of Diamond Glaze. Not much to fuss about on this one. Quick and to the point, just like the males in my household lol!!!!!!

These fabulous papers are from BasicGrey Oliver Paper Pad. I love this collection! It was hard to choose which design to use first!!! To grunge the paper a bit, I've 'distressed' the edges with Viva Decor Platinum Inka-Gold. This is very cool stuff. It's a metal gloss paint that can be applied with a sponge, but I used a paint brush to 'dry brush' the edges of the paper. Gotta get me some more colors lol! I hope you've enjoyed my card today : )

Have You Heard?
  • A little bird has also told me that there is a NEW artist coming to town! I am SOOOOO excited!!! You know that means some fabulous new stamps - yipppppeeeeeee!
Love and blessings ~

Mitzi Mummy hits the town

I want to share a stylin' gal with you today.  Her name is Mitzi Mummy and she is a Kraftin' Kimmie stamp from SCACD.  The Halloween ones are currently on sale BTW and the new Holiday stamps are in too (but not part of the sale)!!!

Now Mitzi seems to have the same problem as her friend Zelda and hasn't quite come to terms with being dead.  She is all ready for a night on the town.  She is even working the bling in the belly button and has on her sexist wrap!

In Mitzi's honor I have worked to do an appropriate job accessorizing her setting.  It just wouldn't be right for her to hit the town under dressed.  The paper is from the Memory Box Blackbird pack - I think I am going to need a second one of these! The gauze is actually the Linen Weave Magic Mesh in Wedding White trimmed and distressed.  This is not your grandmother's Magic Mesh.  This stuff is GREAT to work with.  You need to add it to your stash.

The burgundy flowers are by Petaloo -check out the NEW ones -and the black flower is one of the Maya Road chipboard flowers colored with markers to match.  The pearls on the bottom left were made with the Viva Decor Pearl pen in black. I sure love those Viva Decor pens. Someone needs to keep an eye on me so I don't "Viva" the whole house!

I have a secret and need to tell you to be sure and pay attention.  There is some amazing BLOG Candy coming up on the SCACD store blog this weekend and a new surprise artist.  SHHHHHHH!
Get Inky!

Snow Fun!

Today we have a fab sketch made by Suzanne Dean to play with at the SCACD's DT! I rotated and mirrored it. The Image is Snow Fun from the Winter Wonderland collection by Victoria Case for SCACD.

I think my punched hearts look so cool, I put some Toner Tex Foil on a piece of cardstock before punching.
Fun product with many possibilities!
Here are two great videos on how to use it:

TIOT Sketch
