Little Suzanne - Bliss!

For my card today, I’ve used one of my new favourite Elisabeth Bell for SCACD images. This is Little Suzanne and she is super cute! You can find her HERE (available in the UK at Quixotic Paperie).

Adorable, no?  I've coloured her with Copic Markers, which Susana has in stock in handy bundles at SCACD along with the only inkpad I use with Copics - Memento Dye Ink!  I cut out the image layer using a Spellbinders die!

The papers are an older Cosmo Cricket line.  Flatback pearls.  Tim Holtz ticket.

That's it from me for today!  Back tomorrow with my T.I.O.T card!

Go Green ~ TIOT # 74

OK, finally a new card to post. Life's so hectic in the summer time when school's out, there are people around all the time, so my card making opportunities are very few and far between...

This card is made using a lovely sketch made by the talented leader of the SCACD DT, Suzanne.

This sweet image is called Go Green, one of the new fabulous stamps from the Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Sampler Edition #5, colored with Prismas. I got to use my newest border punch to make the wavy ends of the card opening. I've also used lots of dies from Spellbinders, love them all - what would life be with out them? Other indispensable things are the Prima roses and the Kaisercraft pearls! *LOL* And papers, I love my 6x6 pads! Here I've used Basic Grey and 7 Gypsies.

I made the largest rose following the brilliant tutorial made by my sweet DT sister Carolyn, well, I tried to make a rose I should say! *LOL* Click → HERE← to see her paper rose tutorial.

Susana has got a wonderful spot in her shop for the ones like me, who just love 6"x6" paper pads!
She gets hold of the newest, hottest and most wonderful paper pads again, and again, and again. Now you can get the Oliver and Olivia pads by BasicGrey, and new Websters Pages, click →HERE← to see them all.
Now there are new Lockhart stamps to find in the shop also!

Elisabeth Bell " Flower Power"

Hi everyone, this is my first post here (hopefully everything works properly) and I am excited and very honored to join Susana's DT team.  My name is Jacquie and I have been stamping/crafting for over 20 years, and for the last two years or so I have become absolutely addicted to making cards and using rubber stamps. I have a blog called "AfterHoursStamper.com"

Anyhow, this week the DT was asked to use a sketch and flower soft for our projects, here is the sketch:

Here is the card that I made:

The image is from the new Elisabeth Bell collection, "Sampler Edition 5," and is called "Flower Power."

Here is a close up of the image, and the background paper I made:

I used flower soft on the purple background of the card, here is a close up:

I used little drops of glue for the flower soft, and then sprinkled the flower soft (Sweet Pea) to create a sort of soft, dotted background paper.  The white behind the image was created by swirling some Mica Gloss paints I have, and the glitter dots on the scalloped nestie were created using the Viva Decor Transparent Paint Pen and then sprinkling dots with some glitter.

The flowers were painted with shimmerz paints, the centers were created with Viva Decor Yellow Gloss Gel Pen.  I also used a cuttle bug embossing folder to make the white with purple background (used versamark on the folder so that I could put some clear embossing powder on the background before I inked the raised parts, a way of creating some interest to the background).

The image was colored with copics and then I used dimensional pens to add some depth to the flowers and the belt.  I also used Inspirations Paint, "Fairy Dust," to highlight some of the image.

Hope you like the card, and hope your day is absolutely wonderful!

Jacquie

Flower soft and a sketch

Thank you all so much for your very sweet comments on the new E Bell release for SCACD.
We are so happy that you like them as much as we do.

Today it's time for another TIOT. Suzanne have a great sketch for you and she also asks you to use Flower soft on your project.

I decided to ink and colour "Just For You" with my copics. Got to use my border punch and some ribbon from my stash. Cut out the background oval with my nestie (hope you've seen the Specials that Susana has on some of the Spellbinders). I also cut out some flowers from a flower ribbon that I have. Added pearls - of course ;-). I also decorated the inside of the card with the same DPs as on the front.

Here's a pic of the card before adding flower soft.

And here are some photos of the finished card with Flower soft on part of it - to highlight the flowers.

Hope you like it and would like to participate.

FYI - We will be having friends from Chicago visiting us and we are soo excited to see them again. Isac is already practising on his English ;-) However - I have scheduled some post for you while I'm gone - so please note that your comments are so much appreciated. I will def. be reading them and hoping to get some time to visit your blogs soon.

Good morning!!!  Guess what time it is?  It is time for a new Try It Out Tuesday Challenge:o)  This week, Suzanne has challenged us to use the sketch below AND add a bit of Flower Soft to our sketchy creations.

For my card, I chose to use the adorable stamp~ Go Green from the recently released set- Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Sampler Edition #5.  Have you seen how precious these new stamps are?!?  Can you pick a favorite?  I can't!!  I colored this sweetie with Prismacolor markers and added a touch of Smooch in Sassy Pink...along with dabs of Flower Soft in Raspberry Fizz.  I also touched up the Prima flowers with some Polar White and Raspberry Fizz Flower Soft with a bit of Smooch Illuminate to add a dash of sparkle.  You know how much I love the sparkles...even if it's only a dab.  The patterned paper is from one of the new Memory Box paper pads Susana recently added to the store:o)  If you haven't seen the awesome selection, you really must take a look!!  They are scrumptious!!!  Okay...enough of my blabbering!  I do hope you will join us in this week's TIOT challenge!!!  Now, have a look at the lovelies my DT sisters have created, and don't forget to drop by on Thursday to see the rest of my talented sisters' creations!!  I know they will all be delightfully dazzling:o)  Have an awesome Tuesday!!!  Thanks so much for dropping by:o)

JUST BEING HAPPY !!!

Good Morning! Here is another wonderful image from the latest release from the Elisabeth Bell Sampler Edition #5. She is called "Flower Power". I think she looks so happy so could be taking flowers to someone celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or just because. Whatever the occasion she will make them happy and bring a smile to their face.

The TIOT for this week is a sketch. Please be sure and check the blog today and Thursday and see what great projects the DT has created. Shhhh! Don't say anything, but I messed up the TIOT this week. It is a sketch, plus FS - I forgot to add the FS and I am out of town so I can't add any.

Here is my take on the sketch. The pics are really dark, but the card is really bright and sparkly. I colored the image with Copics and then on her belt and flowers I added some Stickles. In the center of the flowers I put a Kaisercraft Rhinestone, but the pic doesn't show them too well. Maybe, if you click and enlarge the pic you can see them better. I used the VIVA transparent gloss gel on the leaves. The flowers are some I add in my stash and then I used some rhinestone brads for the centers and my MS punch for the leaves. The bottom of the card is longer than the top and I used my MS punch and sponged some green ink for detail and added some Kaisercraft Rhinestones. The blue fiber is some I have had forever.

Please be sure and check out the other DT projects here.

Thank you for stopping by. I really appreciate it and enjoy reading your comments and visiting your blogs as well.

Hugs,

Try It Out with a "T" #74

It's time for another Try It Out Tuesday (and Thursday)! This week Suzanne gave us a wonderful sketch to follow!

Here's the sketch~

There was no doubt what stamps I would choose from for this sketch, I had to ink up some more of the latest Elisabeth Bell for SCACD images! Did you order yours? If not, better head on over and get them!!

I decided to use cutie patootey Howdy for my card today. I wanted her to have some dimension so I stamped her twice and cut one image out and popped it up on pop dots.

Flower Power with a Paper Rose Tutorial

Good morning and a very happy Sunday to you:o)  I hope your weekend has been positively relaxing and you were able to get inky.  On Friday's blog hop featuring the newly released stamps from the awesome Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Sampler Edition #5, I showed you the above project.  Don't you absolutely adore the precious Flower Power stamp?!?!  This little darling is simply too cute for words!!!  Anywho, the rose wreath that accompanied the card was created with paper scraps, and I mentioned in Friday's post a tutorial was on its way....here it is:

1. You will need a scrap piece of card stock cut into a square.  The size of the square is dependent on what you need.  I suggest you play around with a few different sizes to get an idea of what would work best for you.  You will also need scissors, adhesive and a pencil (optional).  Note- If you want to use patterned paper, it is best to use a double-sided paper so the white isn't too dominant.  Also, the thicker the card stock/ patterned paper, the trickier it is to get the rolling process started.

2.  You are going to lightly draw what I will call a psychedelic circle (I cannot recall the actual word for it;) with your pencil.  Your circle does not have to be perfect.

3. Once you have cut out your psychedelic circle, it should now look like this...kinda like a paper snake.

4.  Start rolling the paper at the top, outer edge of the circle and continue rolling it until you come to the end (the inner portion of the circle).

5.  As you roll towards the inner portion of the circle, it should look like this (please forgive my dishpan hands...they kinda look like they belong to Yoda;).  While you are rolling the paper, you can mash down some of the layers to give it a more realistic appearance.  Once you get to the end, apply a bit of adhesive to hold it together.  I prefer to use Glue Dots because of ease of use and they adhere fabulously.  If you are making a larger rose, you may have to add adhesive at various spots before you get to the end, since it is more difficult to hold together.  Where you choose to add it is entirely up to you.

6. Voila!  You should now have a paper rose and it should look something like this.  Easy peasy, right?  And, a great way to use up those little pieces of scrap paper we've been saving for a rainy day.  Come on...I can't be the only person who hoards scraps;o)

** You can also make wavy lines as you are cutting. **

** The wavy lines will add more "petals" to the rose. **

Here are a few examples of the various sizes of squares you can use to make your roses.

Many of the roses on this wreath were created with 2 1/4 inch squares and larger.  If I remember correctly, the largest roses were created with a 4 inch square.

I do hope you found this tutorial helpful, and I hope you have loads of fun making some paper roses of your own!! And, don't forget...the awesome new Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Sampler Edition #5!!!! You will have loads of fun adding roses to these fabulously sweet stamps!!!  Honestly, what better stamp would accompany roses than Flower Power?!?!

a weave and some shimmer!

good morning!!!

suzanne gave us a great challenge - weaving! the DTs have done an incredible job! so here is mine:
Susana has these AMAZING collage stamps in her store now from I Brake For Stamps - i think they are just heavenly!! This one is called Flying Swallow. each one is positively exquisite! i stamped the image in black and then i used Inspirations shimmering paints to highlight areas and inages on the stamp to bring them out. I used Buttercup, Aquamarine and Tan and i thinned them with water to get more of a sheer wash rather than a thick paint. that's one of the things i love about these paints - the versatility. despite thinning them with water i lost NONE of the SHIMMER!

my gorgeous copper paper is actually plain tan paper sprayed with PSST pearl by Tsukineko. This mist gives you pure shimmer without changing the color in any way - so you can make ANY paper you have into shimmer paper quickly and easily! i punched it with the Martha Stewart deep edge trellis punch and then weaved my ribbon through. (i really wanted blue ribbon but DESPITE having 37 pounds of ribbon i apparently don't have a thin blue one other than navy ACK!) the blue background is embossed with one of the new tim holtz embossing folders by sizzix (checkerboard) and i made the tab from one end of a spellbinders label die. i finished off with a few pearls using my Viva Decor Cream Pearl Pen - SO EASY to use!!

this was a really fun, quick card to whip up (another incredible advantage of these gorgeous collage stamps!) So what kind of weaving would YOU do??? join our challenge and let us see!!! while you are here have you entered to win the fabulous blog candy Susana has up for grabs?? and i will see y'all tomorrow for an exciting blog hop of brand new elisabeth bell sweetness!!!
hugs

better blog siggy

T.I.O.T #73 Weaving with Me and My Buddy!

This week the SCACD T.I.O.T challenge is to use Weaving on your project/card! Get all the challenge details HERE.

I'll admit, this one had me stumped for a while. Then I came across a long forgotten ribbon threader punch in my punch drawer, and I was off!

I've used one of my favourite new Elisabeth Bell images. This one is from the last release, and it's called "Me and My Buddy". Love it. So sweet, and of course it features a dog, and you all know I'm a sucker for dogs.

Me and My Buddy is available over at SCACD along with the other gorgeous images in the Elisabeth Bell range (available in the UK at Quixotic Paperie).

I have coloured the image with Copics:

Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E11, R20, R21, R22 Hair: E50, E53 Outfit: W00, W1, W3, W5, W6, Y32, Y35, Y38, YR0000 Dog: E93, E95, E97, E99, E50, E53

Papers are Pink Paislee "Queen Bee" which Susana has in stock at SCACD (available in the UK at Quixotic Paperie).

Don't forget to join us tomorrow for the release day blog hop!  It's going to be fantastic!

A Puppy is Love

Welcome to another Try It Out Thursday.  This week the Try It Out *T* girls were challenged to use weaving in our projects.  If you've been following us here, you've noticed that there are now two Try It Out days.  The first is Tuesday, the second is Thursday so you get twice the inspiration!

This sweet image is 'A Puppy is Love' by Victoria Case for SCACD - Hearts and Hugs Summer Collection.  This is one of my faves cuz it has the adorable lil' puppies.  I LOVE doggies!!!

Can you believe that there is not one drop of Viva Decor Glitter Liner on this card? LOL!  You know how much I adore bling!  I did use a couple of products though...  One is the Pearl Pen in Ice White which I used on the white scallops.  This is such a great product!  The color is beautiful and it's really easy to use AND saves a bunch of money!  Instead of buying package after package of pearls, I just use this : )  It's the same size as the Glitter Liner which is a big 25 ml bottle.  It also comes in cream as well as tons of other colors!  The second product I used is Diamond Glaze.  Can you see how her eyes seem to shine and stand out?  I LOVE this product toooooooo!

This darling girl with her pups is colored with my fave copics.  Skin: E11 E21 E00 R20; Hair: E35 E34 YR21 YR20; Pants/Shoes: G28 G24 G21 G20; Puppies: E34 E33 E31 E30.  You can find copic bundles Here.  I used my rectangle and scalloped rectangle nesties to cut out and layer the image.

Please join us this week in our Weaving Challenge!  You may use any stamp that Susana's carries in the store.

Don't forget the yummy BLOG CANDY!!!  Today is the last day to enter...

Join us tomorrow for the NEW RELEASE Blog Hop!  It's gonna be so much FUN : )
