TIOT Challenge INFO!

This post stays at the top--please scroll down for all new posts!

Here at the store blog we've changed up our Try It Out Tuesday Challenge. Now we have half the DT post on Tuesday and the other half on Thursday using that week's challenge!

We also want you to join in with us each week--so we have a link system at the end of this post that you can link your projects to. You can link up your projects to that week's link system post until the following Tuesday.

The projects must incorporate a stamp that Susana carries in her store. The goal is to follow the sketch but strict adherence is not a mandate. However, using a stamp that is carried in the store is required. some stamp lines may have been purchased from another store but as long as they are also carried at SCACD that would be fine :o) An example would be Kraftin Kimmie - you could have bought Gabrielle some where else but because Susana carries Gabrielle it meets the requirement.

The first week of each month there will be a prize to a random participant of that week's challenge--a free single stamp of their choice from the store!! First of the month challenge projects MUST be in the link system by the following Tuesday to be considered for the prize!

This week it's TIOT #69---Create a Tag project!

Try It Out Thursday #69--Tag It!

Today is Try It Out Thursday for half of the SCACD DT--and I challenged the DT to create something fun with a tag!  You can enter your project above in the Link System if you want to join in on the fun with us!  I used a cute Elisabeth Bell for SCACD stamp called "All Grown Up"--isn't she a cutie!!?  I created this fun Stand-up Pop-up card (see tutorial here on SCS)--the tag pop's right up!  I didn't attach mine to the box like the tutorial says to--I wanted it to pull out entirely so you could use it as a bookmark or write on the back.  But I love how the box pops it up and presents it so nicely and then folds flat for mailing!  Those are Prima flowers adorning the sentiment!

This is the tag pulled out--I used NEW Cosmo Cricket's "DeLovely" papers, so fun & bright!  I added some stickles to this cutie-pie's shoes and hairbands.  The purse she's holding got paper pieced to match!  This image reminds me of my daughter--she always was dressing up in my shoes and her dad's ties, too cute!  I used my SU tab punch at the top, punched a hole thru it and threaded some PTI ribbon thru it.

This is what it looks like from the side--the box allows the center panel (my tag) to stand straight up!

This cute little sentiment is from the Gina K set "Retro Boutique"--it fit this image perfectly me thinks!  In case you have trouble seeing it, it says "Purse-onally, I Think You're the Best!"!  Fabulous!

This is what these boxes look like when they're folded down flat--perfect for mailing!  I increased the size of my box to be 4.5" wide (instead of the 4.25 like it states in the tutorial), but you could make them any size you like! Now scroll down to see the rest of the DT's fabulous projects!

hugz,
Suzanne

TIOT69 - Book-Marked

Happy Thursday to all of my stampin' friends!! As you may have noticed there has been some shake up on our Try It Out Tuesday weekly Design Team Feature and Challenge from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design. We've split to two groups, Tuesday and Thursday, so it's not so overwhelming on one day. So today we have another fun Try It Out challenge from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design to jump start your creativity with the Thursday group! This week's challenge {TIOT69} is to create a TAG. You can read more about the challenges and how things are being run on the first post here on the SCACD store blog.

Well of course I chose to use one of the latest and most gorgeous addition to
Susana's amazing collection of EXCLUSIVE images, Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Sampler #4 Collection!! This is You Have Mail.

My "tag" is a bookmark, I always need these anyway so I don't dogear my pages and this was a perfect opportunity to make one that EVERYONE will envy! Aside from the computer that is just totally me when I'm reading; jammys, slippers, comfy as can be and totally absorbed. Love her! She's stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics. The oval behind her is a Classic Oval Nestabilities shape. Pretty straightforward layout, not as much room to play with tags, and this is meant to be a working bookmark, so I kept it simple.

One last announcement, the SCACD May release SUMMERTIME FUN by Victoria Case is coming soon! Be sure to check out the first post here on the store blog for a chance at some awesome blog candy, TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO SIGN UP!!!

Have a great day, I will see you back here in the morning for the big release BLOG HOP!

TIOT: Tags!

Welcome to this week's SCACD Try It Out Tuesday challenge (on Thursday)! To change things up a bit the design team has split the week up with half of us posting on Tuesday and the other half on Thursday. This week our challenge is to make a tag.

For my tag, I used the Our Craft Lounge set "Sunshine Cheer". I absolutely adore this set! I stamped my images with Momento Tuxedo Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Copic markers. I added some Kaiser bling for a little extra shine!

Susana has added TONS of fabulous new products to her store...including Our Craft Lounge , Maya Road Chipboard, Stamps, Zva Creative, Copic Multiliners, Kraftin Kimmie stamps, Pink Paislee, Kaisercraft designer paper and lots more!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you all have a great day!

Tiot # 69 ~ Wine Bottle Tag

Click on the images to get a lager picture

Hello! It's a new Try It Out Tuesday over at the SCACD store blog, and this week we were to make a tag of some sort, gift tag, bookmark tag, backpack tag, etc. I decided to make a gift tag for a wine bottle. One of my sisters in law has her birthday soon, and we're bringing a bottle of wine along with her present. Thought it would be a nice touch to make it a bit personal (and skip making the BD card...) *lol*

I've used this fun and classy image called Ms. Chardonnay by Victoria Case for SCACD. She's just perfect for this project! I've used a beautiful Prima Cameo Rose and as always; Kaisercraft Pearls!

This is the front:

This is the back:

Susana got som new gorgeous 6x6" paper pads from Kaisercraft in the store today, Utopia, Tea at Elsie's, Le Chateau, Hey Birdie and Konstrukt - go check them out!

Try It Out Tuesday #69~ Tag It!!

Happy Try It Out Tuesday!!!  Our challenge this week is....TAG IT!!!  We are to create a TAG of some sort...gift tags, bookmark tags...luggage tags...backpack tags...etc.  When creating a card/project for the challenge, there is an image requirement, much like other store and manufacturer challenges...the image you use on your creations must be an image sold at SCACD.  It doesn't have to be a stamp that was purchased at SCACD...it just has to be a stamp that Susana carries in the store.  If you are unsure about the stamp you are using,  HERE is a link with the stamp lines that SCACD carries.

I originally planned to show a different gift set using some Karen Lockhart stamps, but I cannot show them just yet.  I'll tell you why later;o)  So, I decided to show you part of my hubby's Father's Day gift.  It's a good thing he doesn't pay attention to this blog:o)  He LOVES golf!!!!  I cannot afford all the big things he {hearts} like the latest Callaway drivers, hybrids, or irons...I can only afford the little things like tees, towels, new spikes for his golf shoes and GOLF BALLS.

Recently, I took a trip to Dick's and picked up a few boxes of his favorite golf balls.  With all the golf courses around here and their love for water hazards, golf balls are always a good thing.  I cannot begin to tell you how many of mine are swimming with the fishes.  Come to think of it...we won't even go there;o)  Rather than purchasing a gift box to put them in, I just decorated the box the balls came in.

As you can see above, the top of the box lifts off...and I simply "wrapped" it with card stock and patterned paper.  Easy peasy!!  The other good thing about it is that once he doesn't need the box anymore, I can use it to store goodies in.  A cool way to recycle.  My tag is really simple, I just used my circle nestie, then ran it through my Cuttlebug using the negative side of Tiny Bubbles EF...attempting to make it resemble a golf ball.  The message within the tag says "Fore U!"  I love the sentiment within the card...it says- "It takes a lot of balls to golf like I you do!"  I find that sentiment hysterical:o)  The stamp says "I", but I really did strike through it and add "you".  I think he will get a kick out of it!!

I hope you will be able to play along with this week's challenge!!!  I know my "tag" was kinda lame, but it was the best I could come up with this go round.  So, I apologize for the lack of inspiration.  I know my DT sisters will have plenty of awe-inspiring creations to kickstart your tag making mojo!  Have an awesome Tuesday...and if you haven't entered to win the mind boggling blog candy up for grabs, you better head HERE quickly!!!

Try It Out Tuesday #69

This week's Try It Out Tuesday (and Thursday) is to create a tag! Hope you'll play along (remember to use a stamp that Susana sells).

Also don't forget while you're at Susana's store blog, Follow Your Heart, to enter the AWESOME blog candy for the FABULOUS Victoria Case for SCACD release on this Friday!

Onto my tag for today~ I used the stamp that was named after my Matthew~~ Matthew. I am just so proud of my son! In Texas there are tests that the kids have to take in school starting in 3rd grade. These are BIG deal tests. Well, my Matthew was commended on his! His teacher is double checking but she thinks he got a 100% on one of them and only missed 2 on the other one (Math and Reading is what they test on this year). One proud mommy here! I thought this tag could also double as a bookmark.

Also be sure to check out the new, wonderful Kaisercraft 6x6 paper pads that Susana just got in!!

JUST FOR YOU - TIOT 69

Isn't this just the most adorable image? Little Suzanne look so sweet and in her own little world coloring. She is from the Elisabeth Bell Special Edition 4 for SCACD.

The challenge this week is to make a tag or bookmark. I made a tag to put on a mini pizza box.

This is Bubbles which is also from the Elisabeth Bell Sampler Edition 4. It is stamped and colored with Copics on Kraftboard and then I put in through my cuttlebug using the puzzle diecut. I used the new Viva Decor Glass Effect Gel for the large bubble. To finish it off I sprayed the entire puzzle with Smooch Spritz - Vanilla Shimmer I am visiting my grandchildren this week in Coloroado and this is for the youngest one. She loves these little puzzles.

I made a second puzzle and put it in the mini pizza box with a box of crayons for her to color. Her brother loves these as much as she does.

This is the final result with the two puzzles and the crayons with the tag.

Susana has divided the DT so there is a TIOT on Tuesday and a TIOT on Thursday so please be sure to check out the fabulous and creative projects here on both days.

REMINDER: Susana has BLOG CANDY going on until Thursday to celebrate the new Hearts and Hugs Summertime Collection by Victoria Case for SCACD. We will be having a fun Blog Hop this Friday and would love for you to join in the fun.

Hugs,

Tag it!

Can you believe it - May is almost over! Summertime is here - or?? Well - not yet here in Sweden - but I'm hoping for a warm Summer this year. We def. need it after the winter we had.

So until then - it's time for Day dreaming - and that's the name of the image I used for creating my tag. I used a white coaster (that I got from Angie Juda) and covered that with my DP from SU.

Added some pearls with my Viva Decor Pen - yes - I'm not tired of that yet...*lol* .Used my crop-a-dile and punched the whole in the corner. Attached a little matching ribbon and there you have it.

Happy Anniversary SCACD Style!

Today I would love to share the Anniversary card that I made for my hubby, it was our Anniversary last Tuesday, we've been married for 3 years now!  How fast time flies by!
I used Day Dreaming by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD.  As soon as I saw this cute stamp I knew i wanted to make an easel card and I used the color of my hubby's garage so it looked like I was looking out the window of our "someday" house! :)
This cutie was colored with my Copics.  I've used Ultra Fine Flower Soft in both Raspberry Fizz and Sage.
I've used my MS deep edge border punch to create my white picket fence.  Roses are Prima Mini Roses.  Copic Colors YG95 and YG97 were airbrushed with my ABS to create more of a "grass look" on the piece of green cardstock.  Airbrushing was also used to create a shadow effect behind the tree.
The tree was hand drawn by me.  Then I made a stand for the back, used my leaf punch and arranged the leafs and finally added a cute heart with a B & K which stands for Brent and Kim! :)
My window shutters with sprayed with Tsukineko Psst Shimmer Spritz in Sheer Sparkle.  I love the sparkle and shimmer you get from this fabulous spray!  Window pane was painted with Adirondack Pearl Paint.  Then Diamond Glaze was added to the windows for that real glass look.

I hope you have all enjoyed this card, as I had so much fun making it!  This stamp would work perfectly for a Welcome Home Card, a New Home Card, or a Thinking of You Card!  The possibilities truly are endless!

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

♥ Thanks for stopping by! ♥

Tack n' Peel How To

I'll admit it. I'm very stubborn and set in my ways. Several people have told me about this wonderful product Tack n' Peel but I was insistent I didn't need it. I had my handy EZ Mount Cling.

Well finally I gave in and tried the Tack n' Peel. Oh my! I really should learn to be willing to give products a try!! LOL!!

For those who don't already use this product here's a quick "how to".

Place your block on the Tack n' Peel sheet.

Trace the outline of your block with a permanent marker.

Next take your scissors and cut out shape you just drew.

Peel off the yellow liner and place onto your block.

Peel off the clear liner--but do NOT discard!

Next, place your stamp on the sticky side and voila' you're ready to stamp! I used Lily Ladybug here...isn't she so cute?? Remember her and her friends are on sale!

When you're done, just peel off your stamp and replace the clear liner.

You can also *stick* other items to your block for fun stamping--rubber bands, etc.

It also says to rinsing with water and allowing to dry will make the surface sticky again so you can use it multiple times!

I also wondered about my millions (okay, maybe not millions) of stamps already with the EZ mount cling on them so I tried that....I used sweet Bubbles from Elisabeth Bell for SCACD. It worked just fine too!

Yup, I'm sold. I'll be ordering more Tack n' Peel to do all my blocks now--have you ordered yours yet??

rockin' TIOT!

 TIOT CHALLENGE #68 PARTICIPANTS!!

Hi everyone!
i am a little late but HERE! Suzanne gave us a great sketch to work with this week:
how fantastic is this patterned paper? it is from the Kioshi paper pad by Basic Grey - susana has it in stock in the 6x6 size. my little matching purple flowers started out as white - susana has lots to choose from - and i gave them a light spritz with some Smooch Frosted Grape instant matching flower. The yellow flower is a die cut made from Viva Decor Modeling Grass. i finished it off with a few little black Diamond Drops.

My image is Little Dianne from the Hearts & Hugs Spring Collection by Victoria Case exclusively at SCACD - doesn't she look like she's having fun? this is such a versatile image - it can work well for kids cards or thank you cards or my favorite - the ones you send just to brighten someones day so they least expect it :)
i stamped with memento black and colored her in with copics. i added some Spica glitter pen highlights here and there. my sentiment is a studio G stamp. i cut her out with the Labels 11 Nestibilities.
Have you checked to all the fun new things susana has been adding to her store? so much to play with! one of my fave new things - the Maya Road mini chipboard shapes! i can't wait to get my hands on these! in addition there are some fantastic new 6x6 paper pads!
PLUS have you noticed the change to TIOT? not only have we split the postings up but we want all of you to join in!! so pull out any of the stamps you have that can be purchased at susana's store - this includes both exclusives AND stamps that she carries from other lines such as kraftin kimmie, i brake for stamps, lockharts, our craft lounge (such a huge selection) - and show us what you've got! be sure to link your creation to this post using the same sketch we used for this week.
have fun!
