TIOT on thursday!

Suzanne gave us DTs a GREAT sketch to work with this week and here is mine (with apologies for me lateness - i REALLY wanted to be able to use the SCS Tues. color challenge!):
I started with this cute little stripey paper from the Kaisercraft - Pack Your Bags 6x6 paper pad. i used a cuttlebug folder from the Asian bundle for the two angeled panels. for the embellishements i decided to do little paper quilling to match the image. the blue flower has a little drop of Viva Decor Gloss Gel.

My image is Little Danni with Flutterby by Victoria Case. I stamped with Memento Black ink and colored her with Copics. Her eyes and the blue band on her dress are done with a spica glitter pen. She is cut out with the spellbinders label 11 nestibilities.
i hope you all have a fabulous day!

TIOT #65~Feeling a Little Sketchy?

Happy Tuesday!!!  This morning, Suzanne has challenges all of us to create a card using the fabulous sketch below:o)

Today's card is rather simple.  I pretty much followed the sketch to a tee and tried my best to have the adorable stamp take the spotlight.  The precious stamp is "Oh Baby" from the Elisabeth Bell Sampler Edition #3 for SCACD.  I colored this darling sweetie with Prismacolor markers.  The periwinkle card stock is from the Paper Studio and the beige card stock is from the DCWV "Linen Closet" card stock stack.  The patterned papers are a combination of DCWV's "Linen Closet" and Basic Grey's "Nook and Pantry".  The flourishes were created with the Spellbinder's Shapeabilities Flourish Accent with sprinkles of pearls from Kaisercraft.  The blossoms are from Prima, and the ecru lace is from my yard sale stash.  As you can see, I left the sentiment off.  I generally add sentiments at a later date, unless I have someone in mind when creating a card.  I do hope you plan to play along with us in today's challenge:o)

Also don't forget to enter the AWESOME BLOG CANDY Susana is offering!  Remember...there are four fabulous prizes up for grabs, and all you have to do is answer 1 question:o) Wouldn't you literally be walking on sunshine if you were one of the winners?  Well...you gotta be in it to win it...so head on over to THIS post, and get your name into the proverbial hat!!!  GOOD LUCK!!!!

Also, don't forget to join us on April 30th for a super fun blog hop showcasing the lovely new stamps from Elisabeth Bell Sampler Edition #4.  Trust me when I say...You are going to LOVE the stamps in this set!!!

Have an incredible day, and thank you for dropping by:o)

TIOT65 - What's Cookin'?

Happy Tuesday stampin' friends!! Today we have another fantastic Try It Out Tuesday challenge from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design to jump start your creativity! This week's challenge {TIOT65} is a sketch! My favorite {did you know that already?? LOL!}.

I chose
Little Marti from the latest Victoria Case for SCACD Hearts and Hugs Spring Collection for today's project. Did you know that you can buy the set of all 7 stamps in one sheet for over 30% off the individual price? That's a deal!

Here she is!

And here is the fun sketch by Suzanne:

Today's card details - I stamped my sweetie with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on PTI white cardstock and colored with Copic markers. Kaisercraft Pearls in pink for my punched corners. The main image and mat were cut with Nestabilities Labels 4. I went around the space between layers with a matching pink Gelly Roll Glaze pen, but it didn't show up very well in the photo.

Fun! Just love these "little" girls from Victoria Case for SCACD. Know what else I love??? Walkin' on Sunshine! We are gearing up for some big, huge fun at the end of the week with Elisabeth Bell and Susana's Custom Art and Card Design! Mark your calendars for April 30th when the newest stamps will be released & join the DT for a blog hop!

TIOT Sketch - Volleyball Style

 Hi Friends~

Today is Tuesday so it's another Try It Out Tuesday!  In case you've been living in a cave or were just busy this past weekend and happened to be away from your computer you REALLY need to click -->HERE<-- to check out Susana's AMAZING blog candy up for grabs!  Susana is being VERY generous with the NEW Walking on Sunshine Release by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD, which happens to be coming up on April 30th!  Make sure you mark your calendar because you don't want to miss this Blog Hop...you're going to LOVE it!!!

Now back to today's TIOT....Suzanne put together a wonderful sketch for us to play with.
On today's card I have used a cutie from the Hearts & Hugs Spring Collection from Victoria Case for SCACD.  This is Jennifer and she comes along with 3 different sporting balls so you can customize her for any sports fanatic in your life!  I've decided to go with a Volleyball theme!

And here is the fantastic sketch that Suzanne has created for us!  I definitely will be using this one again!!!

Now a close up of Jennifer!  She of course was colored with Copics and accented with a white gel pen.  I've use the Spellbinders Mega Ovals Large for the cut out of Jennifer and then popped her up on the Labels 10.  On the ends of the Labels 10 die I've used my Viva Decor White Gloss Pen to make my customized mini pearls.  The gloss pens leave a GREAT shine!

The ticket is from the TH collection.  I airbrushed lightly around the edges with my BG11 Copic to match my teal color.  Then I edged the ticket with my Viva Decor Hologram Glitter Liner.  OMG is this awesome!  It is so sparkly and leaves a nice 3D area!  I really love how the glitter holds it's shape and pops out!  If you love glitter this is a MUST have!!!
Here is one of the sporting balls that comes along with this great stamp!  I stamped 3 volleyballs and colored them with my "W Grey" Copics to give them a little bit of depth, and then popped one volleyball up on a Prima flower.
Finally I have one more picture to show you the shimmer/sparkle/bling of the Viva Decor Hologram Glitter Pen!  Seriously this really sparkles!!!  It also gives off lots of different colors...I love it to bits and will be using it on ALL of my projects!

For my card I inked up my "Matthew" stamp from the Victoria Case Hearts & Hugs series #2 release. My main image is stamped in Momento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers. I couldn't resist using some Basic Grey Archaic designer paper as well as some coordinating Basic Grey buttons. I used some Karen Foster Scrappers Floss with the buttons. I used white floss and colored it with coordinating Copic makers. It is completely customizable to any color you need!

Susana has added TONS of fabulous new products to her store...including Our Craft Lounge Stamps, Zva Creative, Copic Multiliners, Kraftin Kimmie stamps, Pink Paislee and lots more! TIOT - Sketch time!

Happy Tuesday everyone!
Today we have a fun sketch - see above - from Suzanne to play with. This sketch was really a challenge for me - don't ask me why - fun - but a challenge ;-)
I decided to colour Atlantia with my copics. Cut her out with my nesties. Then I picked the DPs - that I received as a free gift from my cardmaking magazine. Coloured Atlantia in matching colours. Highlighted her wings with my Viva Decor Pen. Added the butterflies and cut out some paperflowers as decorations. Pearls are made with my Viva Decor Pen + three Bella Baubles in the flower centers. Couldn't resist - had to use a little lemon raffia lace. Sentiment from SU.

Hope you like it!

Try It Out Tuesday # 65

For today's challenge it's one of my favorite types~~a sketch!!

Here's the sketch by Suzanne~

Not going to lie, this one intimidated me but I didn't want to give up so here's what I came up with~
Isn't Gabrielle so fun?? I tell ya, I really like these Kraftin' Kimmie stamps! I used Kiwi Smooch on the teacups to give them some shimmer. I also added touches of copic glitter pens to add some sparkle to her dress and headband.  Couldn't leave the buttons naked so I used some fabulous scrappers floss through them.
The top corner bothered me but I couldn't decide what to put there and then I remembered my Transparent Viva Decor Gloss baubles I had made. Perfect!!

Little Carolyn again

Happy Saturday everyone!

I so much appreciates your comments and hope that I soon will have the time to visit your blogs again. It's a little bit much going on at the moment. But if there's hope.....

So this is a short post from me - where I wanted to show you my result of colouring Little Carolyn with my copics - but trying to get the "Distress look" for her. My sweet DT sister Suzanne have a super copic video tutorial that you find here.

Here you have the end result - after adding roses, pearls and ribbon. Hope you like it.

Well - I am actually pleased with the result - but I really feel that I am in the need for more copics ;-). Guess a girl never can have enough of colour choices - right??

Kramis and enjoy your weekend! I know I will - and I am really longing for Sunshine and I'm sure you will do too - very soon. Why, hm.......can't tell you yet - but make sure that you pop over here to the SCACD store blog tomorrow - that's the only hint I can give you...hihi.....

April Showers Bring May Flowers!

Hi Friends~

YAY, today is Friday and I have a fun project to share with you!!! Whenever we have rain in April it always brings to mind the saying that "April Showers Bring May Flowers!"

This saying prompted me to make a flower pot card, which also happened to be my Gram's birthday card! I used my Cuttlebug embossing folder to add some texture to the flower pot, and then used my MS pansy border punch and added some pearls to the middle....now that I have my Viva Decor Pearl Pen I can use those to customize pearls on all of my projects!

Here you can see the inside of the flower pot card. I've added Susan from Elisabeth Bell Sampler Edition 1 for SCACD.

Here is a close up of Susan. She was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and of course was colored with Copics and accented with a white gel pen.

Here is a close up of the 3D flowers. I used two different kinds of dp for them. Then added LOTS of Star Dust Stickles for tons of sparkle! The extra filler flowers are Prima Hydrangeas with some more pearls.

And the final view is a side view so you can see all of the dimension. Here you can also see the stand that I made so this card can be displayed easily. I hope you've enjoyed this creation!

I also have some FUN NEWS to share with you.....there is a
New release for SCACD coming soon!!!
I hope you are ready to walk on Sunshine!!!
Make sure you check back soon for more details!

♥ Happy Friday! ♥

TIOT frame up - a day late!

hi folks!!
well i am a day late with my Frame Up challenge from Suzanne but better late than never! i had LOTS of fun with this little cutie!
I started with the sketch challenge and color challenge over on SCS. The patterned piece is from the new Basic Grey Kioshi collection - HEAVENLY colors and of course susana has it in the 6x6 pad!

I stamped the Latte Elisabeth Bell image with Memento black ink and colored her with copics. i used my sewing machine to stitch the frame around the mat. i am not the best at doing fancy corner stitching so i hid my corners with the adorable little Prima Tiny Tots - LOVE these little things - they come in a nice assortment of colors and are a perfect size!

As a finishing touch i did my own custom swirls using some Viva Decor Pens - I used the Lime Green Paper Pen & the Gold Glitter Liner. these are actually pretty easy to do. i draw the swirls on with a versamark pen and follow those!
if you have not taken the Viva Decor plunge i encourage you to JUMP IN!

Try It Out Tuesday #64--Frame It!!

Hello Everyone!  Today is Tuesday so that means another Try It Out Tuesday Challenge!  This week I challenged the team to create a frame around their image or on their card but it could not be a paper frame!  One of my favorite embellishments is buttons so I had to create a button frame for my card of course!!  I used one of my fave Victoria Case stamps called "Milla"--she's fantastic because she can be used for so many fun occasions.  This paper is NEW from Melissa Frances--I loved the lilac colors paired with a minty green--pretty & springlike.  The border punch I used is a new one from Martha Stewart--I love the delicate feeling it has.  I used my buttons to create a round frame behind the image in matching colors.  Those clear pearls circling the edge of the card were made with my Viva Decor Gloss Pen (in transparent)--you can sprinkle glitter on the top of them as well for more sparkle!

She's colored with Copics and then I also paper pieced her dress with the matching dp--I love to tie in the images with the rest of the card that way.  Remember when you're paper piecing to shade it like the rest of the image--here I used W3 & W1 to shade the edges.  Then I used the Viva Decor Glitter Liner (in holographic) on the stripes on her dress and her bows--this stuff is 100x sparklier than Stickles!!

Now scroll on down to see the rest of the DT's fabulous projects for you today!

hugz,
Suzanne

TIOT - Frame It!

Hi Everyone~

It's Tuesday....so let's TRY IT OUT!  This week Suzanne has challenged us to FRAME IT....the twist is that you can use anything BUT paper!  As soon as I saw this was our challenge I knew I wanted to try the ribbon/knot frame....and I am pleased at how this turned out but most importantly at how easy this is!

This week I have used the Victoria Case Little Carolyn for SCACD!  I wanted to create a scene to make it look like Little Carolyn was swinging on her swing that was tied to a tree branch.  Papers are from the BG Green at Heart Collection....Oooo I just love the colors in this collection!!!!
Here you can see Little Carolyn on her swing.  She has been colored with Copics.  I've used Diamond Glaze on her eyes to make them shine and look real.  The background has been airbrushed with my ABS and Copic B0000 to give it a "sky look."  In this view you can also see the ribbon frame around this cutie pie!
The white pearls are made with my Glossy Opaque White Viva Decor Pen!  These pens seriously are the most amazing product!  I am in love with being able to make my own pearls any size, AND any color that I want them!!!  These glossy pens are VERY cool with the gorgeous shine they give!  Marti has made an amazing video regarding these awesome gloss pens, you can find it -->here<--
Then there is the flower arrangement that has been sparkled with Star Dust Stickles. (I can't wait to get my Viva Decor Hologram Glitter Liner pen because I think this glitter will look amazing on flowers and everything else...my pen is postal-bound as you read this.....Susana recently got this BACK IN STOCK...so HURRY and order yours today!)  From this view you can also see the texture to Little Carolyn's hair.  I've added the texture with my Copics but I have also used my Sand Spica to add a little more texture and sparkle!
And in my final view you can see more teeny-tiny pearls that have been added to the tiny butterflies using my Viva Decor Ice White Pearl Pen.  From this view I am also hoping that you can see the metallic shimmer on Little Carolyn's dress.  I have colored the flowers on her dress with Snickerdoodle Smooch, which was enough to give her some extra accent.

Make sure you keep scrolling to see all of the other Girl's fabulous creations!

♥ Enjoy your day! ♥

TIOT #64~Frame It!

Good morning:o)  It is that time again...time for a new Try It Out Tuesday Challenge:o)  This week, Suzanne has challenged us to Frame It.  We are to create an interesting frame on our card and/or around our image and use anything BUT PAPER for our frame!  Interesting, n'est–ce pas?  I will admit...I kinda freaked at first when I knew I couldn't use paper.  But the more I thought about it...the less intimidating it seemed.  I thought of buttons, flowers, ribbon, etc...  Then, I had a "Eureka!" moment and thought about all the old and broken jewelry I have:o)  Most of it comes from yard sales I have been to...in case you didn't know, I am a HUGE yard sale fanatic!!  You can find some really cool stuff for super, super cheap!  You would be shocked to learn just how much stamping and scrapbooking goodies you can find.  Much of what went into this project came from a yard sale...the old buttons, the jewelry pieces, the lace...all came from yard sales.  Also...if you like to use chipboard...you can get it for free from your local craft stores.  I got mine from A.C. Moore.  Apparently, they get loads of it in their shipments of open stock papers and throw it away unless someone asks for it.  For awhile there, they would call me about twice a month to drop by and pick up the sheets they saved me...sometimes it would be a regular shopping bag full, while other times it would be a garbage bag full.  Needless to say, after a couple months, I no longer needed any chipboard;o)  Now, whenever I get low, I call up the folks at A.C. Moore and they save me some sheets.  I hear that most of the craft stores do it, but I would call first just to see.

Frame Ingredients: Image~ Emma from Elisabeth Bell Sampler Edition 1; chipboard; transparency sheet from Staples; Inspirations Paint~ Winter Frost and Gold; Tsukineko Spritz~ Sheer Frost; stapler; Martha Stewart ribbon; Prismacolor markers; Spica glitter pens~ Sand and Mint; Zva flowers~ White; white and antique gold acrylic paint; Aleene's Tacky Glue; and pearl hat pins, eyelet and ecru lace, buttons and old jewelry from stash

The base of the frame is chipboard.  I sanded it down and painted it with white acrylic paint.  Once it was dry, I painted over it with gold acrylic paint.  I glued the eyelet lace down the sides first, then stapled the eyelet lace to the top and bottom of the chipboard frame.  I painted over the lace with Inspirations paint...first dashes of Gold...then, Winter Frost.  As soon as it dried, I added ribbon and all the fun jewelry pieces and buttons to it.  I glued all the pieces down with Aleene's Tacky Glue.  If you choose to use Tacky Glue on heavier items, I would suggest using a generous amount and give your project plenty of drying time.  The image within the frame can be removed.  I added the image that I used on the card to show that it is a functional frame.  I haven't decided what I am going to put in it, so sweet Emma will stay in it until then.

Card Ingredients: Image~ Emma from Elisabeth Bell Sampler Edition 1; card stock~ DCWV; patterned paper~ Kioshi by Basic Grey; Tsukineko Spritz~ Sheer Frost; Martha Stewart ribbon; Prismacolor markers; Spica glitter pens~ Mint and Sand; Zva flowers~ White; Aleene's Tacky Glue; Basic Grey adhesive half pearls; Fiskars corner punch; buttons and old jewelry from stash

For my card, I pretty much followed the theme of the frame in regards to the embellies and colors.  I added a smaller image of the card, so you could get a better view of the sparkle from the Spica glitter pens.  I love my glittery, shimmery Spica pens!!!  I could never thank Susana enough for introducing me to these babies:o)

I suppose I have rambled on enough.  I hope you will be joining us in this week's fun challenge.  Have a terrifically FUN Tuesday:o)  Thanks so much for dropping by!!!

BIG {{{{HUGS}}}} coming your way!!!!
Carolyn:o)

ENABLER ALERT!!!!  There are some new and awesome products that were recently added to SCACD:o)  First things first...the Viva Decor Holographic Glitter Liners are back in stock:o)  Yaaaayyyyy!!!!!  I want to get my hands on a few of these beauties.  Have you seen the mad shimmer this product puts out?  If not, check out the videos found HERE on the product page.  If you are a paper hoarder lover like me, you will want to check out the fabulous Pink Paislee 6x6 paper pads.  They are beeeeautiful!!! I haven't purchased any yet, but they are tops on my wish list.  Another item on my wish list are the decorative stick pins...they are yummy!!!  And, have you noticed the new stamp lines?  You can now purchase Kraftin' Kimmie and Our Craft Lounge at SCACD:o)  Talk about lotsa FUN stuff, and there are still more goodies to come...so keep your eyes peeled!
