TIOT52 - Book{mark} It!

It's Tuesady!! I'm glad you stopped by today! We have another fantastic Try It Out Tuesday challenge from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design to jump start your creativity! This week's challenge {TIOT52} is to create a bookmark! Of course I decided to use another of the newly released images from The Aurora Collection by Victoria Case for SCACD! This is Aurora with Tulips.

Of course I couldn't stop with JUST making a bookmark today {Um, hello, an excuse to color up Aurora some more?? Sign me up!}. So I also have a matched set - I made card to go along with it. What a fun little gift!

A few quick details on the project. I stamped Aurora in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on PTI white cardstock and colored with Copic markers. The colors are Almost Amethyst, Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery. A littler wider pink satin ribbon from the stash, some buttons as well and she is ready to go!

I hope you enjoy Aurora as much as I do! I will see you next week for another Try It Out Tuesday!

TIOT # 52 ~ Bookmark

A new Try It Out Tuesday at the SCACD's DT, today we're making bookmarks!
I love to read books, but do not have the time, not during the day at least. My reading time is when I go to bed, I always have a book on the bedside table. So, when I was making a bookmark, I thought that I'll actually make something for my self!

Since reading is a night activity for me, this lovely image Lucy On The Moon by Faerie Song Art Stamps from SCACD was a perfect choice! I colored her with Prismacolor pencils, used many different Spellbinder Nestabilities to put this bookmark together - fun! I also added some Stickles and Kaisercraft Rhinestones.

This is how it looks like on the back:

Try It Out Tuesday #52~ Book 'Em!!!

Good morning:o) Are you ready to see what this week's Try It Out Tuesday Challenge is?  Well, Suzanne has challenged all of us to create a bookmark.  Fun, huh?:o)  I love bookmarks, so this challenge was right up my alley!  It turned out to be extremely useful to me these past few days too.  Since I have been under the weather and not able to create or play with my paper, I have caught up on another hobby...reading:o)  My hubby's boss gave him a few books to pass on to me, and the book shown is one that he gifted to me.  Thank you, PJ!!!  The books are wonderful!!!!

For my bookmark, I used one of the recently released stamps from the Aurora Collection.  This stamps is called~ Aurora with Tulips, and isn't she a sweetie?  I cannot get over her precious, little face:o)  I love to create with a stamp that makes me smile.  Don't you?  The DP is from Cosmo Cricket's Early Bird Collection and is called Cherry Pie.  I love this paper!!!  So wish I had more!!!  I colored sweet Aurora with Prismacolor markers and sparkled her up with some Stickles and Diamond Glaze.

I do hope you will play along with us:o)  We would love to see the bookmarks you create!!  Don't forget to tag your creations with TIOT52 when posting to PCP and/or SCS.  Thank you so much for dropping by!!!  I hope your Tuesday is absolutely, positively TERRIFFIC!!!

Hugs!

Try It Out Tuesday #52 - Aurora Takes a Break!

One of life's greatest pleasures for me has always been reading. Sitting in a chair in my home and going to all different countries around the world or even into an imagined world has saved me from losing my mind at times! Give me a good story that I just can't put down and well, that's my piece of heaven on earth.

Suzanne challenged us to create a book mark this week for our challenge over at Follow Your Heart, the blog for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design and I decided on another of our sweet Aurora stamps, Aurora Takes a Break, designed by our ever talented Victoria Case. I just adore this collection!

I colored her with copics and added just a bit of stickles. I colored her like my little strawberry sprite! I love her little green boots! I added a bit of my new K&Company paper and tried to keep her a bit light and inviting. What do you think?

You know me, I had to show off her sweet face! Make sure to stop over at Follow Your Heart and see what my Design Team partners have come up with for you! I'd love to see what you would create for a bookmark! Let's go take a break and read!

Card Ingredients:

Aurora Taking a Break by Victoria Case for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design, copics, Stickles, Kaisercraft Pearls, ribbon, EK Success corner punch, nestabilities

Try It Out Tuesday #52- Bookmark

Our challenge today for Try It Out Tuesday is to make a bookmark! Who doesn't need a bookmark? I know I need some so I was happy about this challenge!

I used Daisy from the Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Sampler Edition #2 for my bookmark. I just think she is so cute!!

I made this a bit larger than I normally make bookmarks because I wanted a bookmark that would stand out so I could find it easily. I also used a strip of magnetic tape on the bottom so it will stay put!

this shows the magnets, sorry for the blurry photo

supplies:
  • bookmark size: 3 1/2 x 5
  • stamps: Daisy,
  • paper: SU cardstock, some from my scraps,
  • ink: Memento Tuxedo Black,
  • others: copics, SU border punch, SU marker, magnetic strips,

Bookmark - TIOT Challenge

Don't you just love this little Sprite? When you see "Aurora" you can't help but smile. She is so happy and full of life. This image is from the "Aurora Collection" by Victoria Case for SCACD.

TheDT was challenged this week to make a bookmark. I have to tell you I really struggled on this one. Maybe, it was a struggle because one of my furbabies (Sierra-large dog-12 years old) is very very sick. I haven't been sleeping well at night, because I listen to her breathing and I get up 3 or 4 times to let her outside. She is having trouble getting her hips up so I have to help her, hopefully, this is because she is weak from the pneumonia. We took her to the Vet Thursday morning and she has pneumonia, but it is a secondary infection to cancer. The cancer has spread in her body and she has severe arthritis. We are taking her back this Friday to see if her lungs are clear. The Dr. will probably take an xray so we can see how far the cancer has spread. We have dog doors so she can come in and out as she pleases except at night we close the doors and she stays inside. She seemed fine until about 2 weeks ago. We didn't even know she had cancer. She was going for 2 walks a day, eating good and acting normal. Anyway, I guess that is enough depressing news.

Now on the my bookmark set. I found this journal, pen, and file folders at Michael's for $1.00 each. I cut one of the files folders for the bookmark. Then, I stamped, colored with Copics, and added Stickles to these two beautiful butterfly stamps by Lockhart, cut them out and put on the bookmark. The little word stamps are from various sets I have in my stash. Sorry, the company name is not on the stamps. I attached two eyelets and the top to run the ribbon through, tied a bow and then I had a finished bookmark.

Aurora on the butterfly is colored with Copics. I applied gloss on the body and legs and cut out the image to put on the journal. Oh, I forgot - I used Stickles on the wings.

Please be sure to check out the other DT samples here. They are so super talented and creative, you will enjoy looking and getting new ideas.

Thank you for looking and please come back to visit.

Hugs,

A sweet bundle of love

Welcome to another Try it out Tuesday!

Suzanne challenged us to create a bookmark for this weeks TIOT. I decided to make a card with a detachable bookmark. You can find the tutorial on SCS. Stamped Young Julia with purse 3 times and coloured her with my copics. All three images in exactly the same colours.

Here's a pic of the front of the card. DPs from my local craft shop. Sentiment and ribbon from SU. Pearls from SCACD. I cut out the little Julia and added her in front of the oval nesties.

Used the same DP on the inside of the card and attached Julia again. Left a little space to the left for leaving a personal greeting. Then I perforated the score mark (so that the bookmark is easy to detach). Here's a pic of the backside of the bookmark. And here's what it looks like on the front.I hope you like it and that you will play with us. Don't hesitate to leave a comment to show us your bookmarks. Happy Tuesday to you all!

Who Wants Cake?

I have again used one of the darling Aurora images from the Aurora Collection by SCACD. Colored with Prismacolor pencils and cut out with Nestabilities dies. I also used Nestabilities labels 2 and tied bows on them. I added some Kaisercraft Rhinestones in the corners and on Aurora's hat. The sentiment is by Whipper Snapper Designs.

Packing for CHA?

I guess that many of you lucky ladies (living in US) are getting ready for CHA?
Must say that I really wish I could be there too. However - I know at least two ladies that are going - Susana and Suzanne! I'm sure Susana are going to bring back tons of nice new "must haves";-)) Pictures wanted Susana!! ;-)

Well - at least the travelling part inspired me to make this little suitcase. I've been wanting to do one for ages - after I purchased the traveling trio tutorial from Becky.

Made the base out of blue cardstock. Added layers with a darker blue cardstock and SU DPs from my stash. Added a blue dot ribbon as the handle and the leather strap with the lock. (Purchased the leather strap at my local craftshop - Pysselakuten.)

Stamped the Lockhart Rose Bud Gown on the light blue cardstock. Coloured the image with my copics and added some stickles for highlights.
Added some Prima roses (have you seen Susana's perfect bundles of miniroses - they are a must have) in matching colours and let the keys to the lock hang from the roses in a piece of scrappers floss.
I also had to have some extra bling - so I added a few Bella Baubles and 2 pearl brads.
Well - hope you like it. Looking fwd to hear from you and to Susana and Suzanne - have fun at CHA and we want to see tons of pics (incl pics of you girls) and hearing all about it!

Black & Blue All Over!!

Hi everyone!  Okay, I was so sick of using pink & red the past couple of weeks I had to pull out some black to offset all that sweetness, LOL!  (although tomorrow I will have more pink, LOL)  I pulled out one of my all-time favorite Lockhart Stamps called "Sweet Peas", my Anna Griffin Toile paper and some pretty aqua cs.  This card matches my craft room, hee hee, so it makes me HAPPY!  The aqua cs was punched with a Fiskars Border Punch which I lovee!

The image was colored with Copics (BG32,BG11,E43,E41,G24,YG67) and cut out with my circle nestabilities.  To add more texture there are black & clear stickles on the flowers, diamond glaze on the vase and I used a CB folder for the textile texture & Nestabilities Labels 9 for the die-cut out.  Lots of texture can make a simple card really POP!  Hope you like it!

Suzanne

Try It Out Tuesday #51--Happy Day!

Hiya Friends!  This bright and cheery set is for today's "Try It Out Tuesday Challenge #51" which was to use a stamp from the fabulous, new Victoria Case for SCACD "Aurora Collection" and to make an altered item of some sort!  Well I've had a few of these cute, mini baskets hanging around my craft room for awhile so I grabbed one up to alter to match my card.  I used "Aurora with Bird" for my card--I think that bird is sooo cute and I had to make him a lil' red bird to match, lol!  These stamps are exclusively at Susana's Custom Art & Card Design!

My card uses some new dp by DCWV called "Mariposa" and I love the fresh, cheery colors and butterfly images!  My image was colored with Copics, then I added some stickles and diamond glaze (to the nuts and eyes) and some fun polka dots with my white pen.  My butterfly is from a MS punch--(TIP: to make it more decorative & matchy, I used a hole punch & then snipped the lil circle punches in half & attached the the butterfly's wings).  I used my Bow Easy for my bow and added some Prima rose & flowers. (IF you want a great deal on Prima Roses, Susana has all the colors in stock and you get 24 of them for only $3--a deal I tell ya)

To decorate my basket I cut strips of my red cs and attached it around the basket & on the handle, then I added some more dp and a flower to match the card.  The tag was cut with my Nestabilities Labels 4 and the sentiment is from PTI's "Spring Tags" set.  This would perfectly hold some fun little treats or even a gift card, maybe some special bird seed for a bird-loving friend would be cute too!

Now make sure to scroll down to see all the fabulous DT projects for you today!!

Suzanne

TIOT # 51 ~ Altered Mousepad

Time for a new Try It Out Tuesday at SCACD! Today we were asked to alter something using one of the darling images of sweet Aurora. Well, I'm a card maker, and seldom do any altered objects, but when I saw this fun liquid mousepad in the store, I knew I had found my object for today's challenge! *LOL* It's a photo frame mousepad, so I thought it doesn't have to be a photo, a stamped and colored image will add a nice touch to my PC table.

This is how it looked:

(sorry about the light reflections, hard to get good pictures...)

On the back there's an opening to slide the picture/image through:

I used Aurora with Tulips from the Aurora Collection, she's just the cutest lil' sprite! I love to work with her! Colored with Prismacolor pencils, cut her out with Nestabilites Labels 4. I added Stickles on the Tulips.
I hope this counts as an altered object, yes, I know, I took an easy way out! *LOL*

Try It Out Tuesday #51 - Aurora All Altered Up!

It's Try It Out Tuesday here for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design over at Follow Your Heart. Our leader and new Dirty Girl over at SCS, Suzanne, challenged us to use the new cutie pie sprite, Aurora, from Victoria Case for Susana's shop, and alter something. Well, let me tell you about my newest venture. It's a diet. Yep, I need to lose some weight and I think I found a plan I can live with. I'm just starting it, but after I commit to it, I'll let you know all about it. Anywho, I have to keep a food journal so I've altered a notebook. I wanted to do something practical and this 6 x 6 book I picked up at Joann's was just the right size and since it has a lot to do with protein and nuts, I thought Aurora with Bird, would be perfect because of the nuts she's feeding this cutie little bird.

Aurora is colored with copics and she's got that Stickle-dew all over her again! I added some Prima Flowers in one corner and some Bella Baubles in another. And the ribbon along the spiral is from my stash. I love using all the little pieces up!

Something about this image that I just love is this sweet little bird and the nuts. Aren't they just too adorable?

Make sure to stop over at the store blog and see the fabulous projects my Designing buddies have come up with for you. So now what are you going to alter? Tell me all about it!

Card Ingredients:

Aurora with Bird from the Aurora Collection by Victoria Case from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design, copics, nestabilities, ribbon, stickles, Prima Flowers, MS branch and leaf punch, notebook, Bella Baubles.

Coffee and chocolate anyone?

Welcome to another TIOT. I hope you had fun with us on the blog-hop for the new relase over at SCACD - of the Aurora collection.
This week Suzanne wants us to alter an item - of any choice - using one of the new Aurora stamps. I decided to use Aurora takes a break.
First I had to find an empty jar - since I wanted to make something for coffee. Luckily I found one and filled that with coffee beans (we love fresh beans when we are making an espresso or latte in our house).
Then I added several layers of matching DPs (that was sent to me from my sweet friend Tammi). Coloured Aurora with matching copics. Attached her to the jar as well. Here's a close up of her - isn't she cute?
Then I needed something for the lid - so I cut out matching DPs with my nesties.
Added Hydrangeas and a coffee bean in the center *lol*
The chocolate is Swiss of course (nothing is better than that - it's Lindt Weihnachtsspecialitäten - yummy, yummy...) .

Hope this little project gave you some inspiration - or at least - what you should do when you need a little break..hihi....

Kram and looking fwd to hear from you

TIOT #51~Alter It:o)

Happy Tuesday!!! It is time for a new challenge at Try It Out Tuesday; and this week, Suzanne wants us to alter any item of our choice...the sky's the limit:o) This is actually not my original project...I had originally altered a Target mailbox. I sold it thinking I had already photographed it...unfortunately, I didn't:o( So, I had to think up something quick and decided to simply alter a composition book. I am an avid note-taker, which means it will not go to waste. As for the altered mailbox...I will try my darndest to get another one made up before this challenge expires.

The image I used is from the recently released Aurora Collection by Victoria Case that was created exclusively for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design. This image is~ Aurora with Butterfly, and the expression on her darling face just tickles me:o) Look at all that excitement!!! There is absolutely no doubt that she is having a total blast!!! I simply ADORE this precious image!!! Every time I look at her sweet face, I immediately find a smile plastered across my face:o) In all honesty, all the Auroras have this effect on me.

I do hate to cut today's post short, but I have been having an extremely difficult time with my fibromyalgia these past few days. I am hoping it will clear up soon. I hope your day is a beautiful one that is overflowing with blessings!!!! Thank you for dropping by!!!

Hugs!
Carolyn

TIOT - Alter THIS!

hi all!

Suzanne gave us a wonderful challenge for this week - alter an item and use Aurora - FUN!!! i decided it was the perfect time to make a name plaque for Hollyn's new room:

the *theme* is a garden tea party and OF COURSE Aurora is the perfect guest! i used Aurora with tulips:
along with her adorable friend Silly Pilly:
Hollyn Loves it! i stamped both images with memento, colored with copics and accented them with a bit of spica glitter pen - it is not showing in the pics but you can see it despite three coats of mod podge! i cut them both out using Labels 9 nestibilities and edged them with ink & a foam ink blending tool. after sealing it i added a flower skittle to the snail and a couple prima flowers with some cute little rosebuds on top that Susana just got in! these little rosebuds are sturdy and really perk up your primas!! the lettering and die cuts are done with the ashlyn's alphabet & paisley cricut cartridges.

Silly Pilly is onlt available with the FULL sheet of Aurora images - they are all so cute it would be hard to narrow it down anyway!
i hope your week is off to a great start!!!
