This card is using the wonderful Halloween paper with the raven on it from Memory Box called Blackbird. The entire paper pack is yummy! The image is a stamp from the latest release at SCACD. It is called Flowers for Mom and is part of the Mini Sampler #1 drawn by Elisabeth Bell. I know, EB does not draw creepy, she draws cute and this is not so cute. Do you see the zombie skin and glowing red eyes? I am pretty certain EB would be shaking her head if she saw this.
As I am certain you have figured out by now, the challenge for this week's Try It Out "T"Day was to use a stamp image with an animal. Apparently, the right side of my brain and the left side of my brain are not on speaking terms. I say this because I had a plan in place with regard to what I was going to do for this particular challenge. The newly released Mini Acorns set drawn by Victoria Case for SCACD has several absolutely fabulous images that would have worked perfectly for this challenge. I even had selected one to use. I was planning to use Little Acorn.
When I sat down to work on it though, I saw this image stamped and lying on my work table. The right side of my brain just took over. I am pretty certain the left side not only checked out but left the room entirely!
First was the thought that humans are animals too. After thinking that humans were an 'animal' the next thing my 'creative' brain did was think to cut off the items that are already in the wagon and fill it with something else. Almost immediately I began repeating Monty Python and saying "Bring out your dead" "I'm not dead yet!" and that is when the mad scientist giggling began. I am telling you, I really did have other plans originally.! Then paper, ink, pens, flowersoft and all sorts of things began flying through the air and next thing I knew, in my hands was this card.
At this point the 'animal' has to be either the raven on the paper, the teddy bear cut out, the girl turned zombie or...... Perhaps there is a cute little something hidding in the leaves made with the autumn blend flowersoft. The tag is a Mayaroad chipboard tag and gives added dimension to the top of the card. This will certainly help our poor zombie girl and her sugar skulls not get crushed in mailing.
