Good morning!! This week, our TIOT challenge is to create a patchwork background on your cards with real or faux sewing stitches. As an added incentive..there is a prize for one lucky challenge participant for the first challenge of each month....and THIS is the first challenge of the month:o) In other words, ONE lucky winner will be randomly selected from all of this week's challenge entries, and he or she will be able to choose a single stamp from SCACD...not stamp sets. Also, in order to qualify for the prize, you must use a stamp that Susana carries in the store on your challenge submission. If you are unsure of which stamps Susana carries, you can check out the stamps from the store HERE.
As you can see from my card...I am not much of a seamstress, but I opted to use real sewing. Yes, I have left much to be desired, but I had fun...pricked fingers and all! I used the precious stamp~ Wish Upon a Star from the recently released Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Sampler Edition #5. The card didn't come out as I was hoping:o( Hopefully, I will be able to find time to do another before the next challenge is released.
In all honesty, I haven't been feeling very crafty...Jonathon was deployed early Friday morning. I try to create, and my mind drifts away...remembering the little boy who enjoyed our crafty projects, the teenager who very loudly shared his favorite song, and the young man who was laughing and goofing off in the pool just a few, short weeks ago. I miss him terribly...hope he is okay...and pray that he will make it home safely. At the moment, I am more like a crazy person...crying one minute, functioning normally the next, then back to crying. I'm sure I will eventually get a new sense of normalcy and will be back to creating full steam ahead. Until then, please be patient with me.
