Happy Wednesday!!! Please accept my apologies for posting this SO late…we have had nothing but problems with our cable…no phone…no television…no internet for far too long. Fortunately, they are working on the problem; and I am hoping we will be back to normal very soon.
For this week’s Try It Out Tuesday Challenge, it is Tulips A-Bloom…Suzanne has issued us a color challenge:o) Here are the colors: Red, Yellow, Violet, and/or Hot Pink. I must say, I had a lot of difficulty with this one…with all the paper I have, I could not find one sheet that had all of these popular tulip colors combined. So, I kinda cheated…I chose the colors I wanted from the four listed..hot pink and yellow.
I was able to play with my Magic Mesh with this card too:o) I love the added texture it brings to a card/project, and it is extremely user friendly!!! Here, I used it as the backdrop behind the strip of ribbon and to create an added layer to the flower. I didn't have the fuchsia mesh, but that was easily fixed by applying a bit of Sassy Pink Smooch. I wish you could see the shimmer and the soft metallic look it created...it really *pops* in person. I also spritzed a teensy bit of Tsukineko Sheer Shimmer (Frost) over the patterned paper backdrop; unfortunately, my camera skills are lacking, and I could not capture all the wonderful sparkle and shimmer:o( All I can say is..the Magic Mesh, the Smooch, and the Tsukineko Spritz totally ROCK...and were LOADS of fun to play with!!! If you love texture, shimmer, simplicity, and a little going a long way as much as I do...then, you are going to love these products!!!! I know I do:o)
I enjoyed playing so much that I continued to play when I added the flower. I have tons of white flowers and thought it would be fun to add some color to at least one of them with something other than markers. For the large Petaloo blossom on the base, I outlined the raised portion of the flower with Sundance Smooch. Then, I painted the interior with my Viva Décor Yellow Pearl Pen. Once it was dry, I painted some more Tsukineko Frost onto the white outer edges of the flower. I did this by spraying the Tsukineko into a little, plastic cup, then used a fine tip paint brush to apply it. I find that this helps conserve the product, and you get the sparkle exactly where you want it...especially if you want it in a small area. Then, I punched two flowers...sounds brutal huh;o)...one from hot pink card stock and one from a piece of the leftover Magic Mesh used on the card base. The slight rigidity of the MM helped to make the flower "stand out"...adding even more dimension. I added another white flower that was painted with the Tsukineko Spritz...and finally, a Prima Cameo Rose to top it all off. I really liked how it came out...fun and bright is right up my alley:o) I know all this sounds like a lot of work, but it truly isn't...I promise.
I hope your Wednesday is DELIGHTFUL!!!! Hopefully, all my internet and cable woes are finally behind me!!! What can I say...I have MISSED Y'ALL!!!! Thank you for dropping by:o) I plan to be back tomorrow with one of the cards created for last week's TIOT sketch. Have a blessed day, my friends:o)
