Hi the answer to this is easy, the scrapping was my son as we were looking through a box of old photos and he couldn't remember some of the things and asked if I could write them down for him , so now he has a scrapbook of memories for each year of his life , some are for 2 years when he got to the 'I don't want my picture taking stage' and I'm nearly up to date, so he has 10 albums so far that he calls his legacy.

card making was my hubbies fault, as our married year together at christmas a new hobby craft shop opened and for my pressie he took me and said pick what you want, but he just kept walking round and putting things in the basket so I could try different crafts, not only did I get stamping , but silk painting ,glass painting, embroidery and lots of other bits. I often wonder now 16 years later if he ever regrets starting me down the addictive path of crafting.
Thanks for the chance to win, Julye

OM! What an awesome candy :)
My scrapping really started when my brother and his wife where expecting their (first) child, and I wanted to give the newborn something really special...So I made a baby-album - ready to just set in the pictures of the baby, from newborn up to 1 year.
That is probably how I got hooked :)

Have a great day! Hugs, Lena

Can't wait for the peeks. My son actually inspired me and got me into stamping. I made his baby invites and loved it ever since.

Thanks for this awesome chance.

I started scrapbooking just after my first son was born. I started with just the cheap stuff from a big department store but then I discovered a Scrapbooking magazine and I was hooked. I never thought about cardmaking - in fact I thought stamping and CM was a waste of time until I learnt how to heat emboss with stamps and I was then hooked. When I discovered the wonderful world of stamping and colouring - gosh then I have never looked back. I has been just over a year since I started my blog and am loving it.

Thanks for the sneek peek - can't wait to see what they all look like.

i am SURE these new releases are going to be absolutely wonderful - Ms. Bell never disappoints! :)

a friend of mine got me into stamping a couple of years ago - she'd been sending me handmade cards from England (we've been penpals for 17 years), and they were just lovely! i finally thought to myself "i could do that!" and decided to try my hand at the card making. it didn't take long before i was obsessed, and now, when she visits for a week in the summer, we spend the whole time making cards together! it's been a wonderful way to bring us closer together. :)

I got started stamping because I love giving cards and I was looking for a way to make my cards more personal. I saw all the luscious papers and stamps at a local store and thought it was just what I was looking for. I also thought it would be less expensive to make my own (HA!).

Thanks for the chance to win such yummy candy! You are too good to us!

I started scrapbooking because I want my kids to remember their childhood. My parents actually took very few pictures and I just don't remember that much. Being in the military my kids have been able to travel to alot of different places and I want to save those memories for them.

Hi Susana and Suzanne, I have always crafted starting way back with knitting, crochet, sewing, embroidery, when I met hubby he thought it would be a good idea to make our own cards for each other (he doesn't like shopping and sometimes parting with money, lol), these were very basic, when we had the children, I always encouraged them with craft, they always made their thankyou cards for pressies, then we emmigrated to Australia and there was a 12 hour creative memories scrapbooking day at the childrens school, so not knowing many people and not having done scrapbooking, I thought I would give it a go, I then got invited to a Stampin Up party, then I found this wonderful blogging world and also became a SU Demonstrator for 3 months, resigned as I just love all those other wonderful stamps there are out there and all those wonderful techniques and crafting materials. Just loving this wonderful journey have met some wonderful, talented, kind people. Thanks for the chance to win this wonderful candy, take careX:)

I have never been a very creative person even when I was a kid I hated coloring just because I wasn't very good at it and could never seem to manage to stay in the lines and make my pictures look neat and pretty so when I discovered stamping and realized that you didn't have to stay in the lines all of the time, I was hooked! It is also a TOTAL stress relief for me. When I stamp I am in a zone and I lovey love love it!
As far as scrapping, I came into that a little later and had sooooo many pictures(like 1000's) I just hated to see them just sit in the books and not tell the story behind every one of them, Needless to say, I am still wayyyyy behind but it is just so much fun to pull them out and explain all the goods, the bads and the uglies in my scrapbooks and my son will later on totally appreciate all the love that has gone into all those books of and for him!

Thanks so much for the chance to win some great candy! Hugs, Dannette

I've been making cards for a several years now, but then I had a brake from it for some years.
About 2 years ago I came across with many great card making blogs and it took my interest. From that on I've been making cards again, a bit different than before.

I actually slipped in to scrapping... started with decoupage, then decoupage on cards... Then I discovered how fun it was to craft cards, in the beginning there were mostly 3D-cards with decoupage-technique. After a while I started to blog my cards, and found out that one could do so much more!! Tried very carefully to do an LO, it was very difficult to let go, to not craft too perfect. That held me back for a long, long time... But I'm stuck, there is sooo many techniques to learn, so many photos to scrap, so many cards to make. Wonderful!!

Of course I want a chance to win this candy, how exciting! Thank you for the chance.

A Cards Delight said...

It started at a baby shower at work. One of the gifts the mother-to-be received was a box of thank you cards made by a co-worker. I thought it was a wonderful idea! When I looked at the cards she made I was so impressed I kept asking her questions how did she do this and how did she do that. She talked me into going to a demo day at the local craft store. They had eight demos and six of them were making cards. I made all six cards and was so proud of what I did!! Since then I have taught myself many techniques and different methods of making cards. Suzanne has taught me so much on her blog and attending a Copics class she taught. I love Susana’s store and she is one HUGE enabler!! LOL Thanks for the chance to win!

Tracy said...

For me it was after watching Suzanne's copic tutorials on You tube. I had given up stamping years ago as I was unhappy with their coloured finish. Suzanne made it look easy, so I decided to give copics a try. I decided if I could get the skin colour to look right I'd be set.
Well that was it, now I LOVE IT! Scrapbooking has taken a back seat.
I'm continually adding new copics to my collection and get constant inspiration from seeing what everyone creates. Not to mention all the fantastic 'how to' tutorials out there. Thanks for the opportunity to win ladies, Tracy xx

Hi!
Oh I can't wait for the collection to be revealed.
I started stamping because I fell in love with PB images, after that I have found whole new worlds and images I love to color. Especially the cat in the bra image hit me hard! =)
And scrapping I feel is on it's way to get me going as well, I love the way a scrapbook page tells a story.
Hugs, SannaS

Good Morning. Thank you for the chance to join in to win this blog candy.

I started scrapbooking after I got divorced. I had a coworker who was a Creative Memories consultant who got me started. I had just moved & left behind my old life and was looking for new friends and a way to start over.

I've been hooked on it ever since!

i got into card making first thanks to my best friend (since elementary school, Donna. she bugged me for two years to go to a SU card class and I kept coming up with excuses. I finally went to my first, and was so excited about it the instructor gave me a special 'prize' for my excitement. and that as they say is the rest of the story! I just kept going and I got into scrapbooking when my first daughter, Becca, and then second, Lizzybet, arrived. (both my girls are adopted from china). Now I am so in love with it we don't even have a dining room anymore, my girls call it 'Mommy's scrapping room'. I love it!! I love it even more since I found Susana's site and Elisabeth Bell stamps and all the other goodies she has. I don't even go into the local SBS's anymore. We only have the AC moore and michaels and they DO NOT have the wonderful stuff I find at Susana's store, thanks!!

Thanks for the chance to win, haven't yet but know my day will come!!

well I used to do a lot of counted cross stitch but a neck injury meant I couldn't sit bent over for hours on end. Then while watching tv I saw a demo on rubber stamping and painting with inks .. .. the rest is history and now I have a room full of rubba and pots of pencils and pens as well as drawers full of ink pads! It's the colouring that I love and Elisabeth's images are just perfect for pencils, markers or inks!

I began scrapbooking first - I'd never heard of stamping - because of my girls. I was a single mom raising two small girls (3 and 6). I had a TON of pictures of them and wanted to keep them for the girls when they got older. A friend introduced to scrapbooking and although money was unbelievably tight, I began investing little by little and creating a keepsake for my girls - I wanted it to chronicle that even though it was now just the three of us, we were still a family.
Another friend introduced me to stamping and I fell in love with it even more. It enabled me to be not only creative but what I think is artistic when I can't draw even a straight line! I am able to create a beautiful piece of art using images from other talented artists and making it my own little piece of "art" that I can share with my family and friends.
I must say that Elisabeth's images are among my all-time favorites!
Thanks for the chance to win!! I can't wait to see her new release!

But there where such a beautiful stamps so I give it a try and bought some ink and stamps. That was 1 1/2 year ago. Wow and that was the start of my addiction for scrapcards and little projects.
Love it.

I live in the same area and was able to attend a class given by Suzanne in her home. I am hooked!

I got started scrapin in high school. My friends and I were camera happy. I had shoe boxes full of pictures but couldn't remember all the whos, whats wheres and whens. I went to an LSS one day and was instantly hooked. I then started travelling to all sorts of different countries and started buying stamps to add to my scrapbooks. I stopped doing all my crafts when I moved around every year for about 7 years then two christmases ago I wanted to make my own holiday cards. Well after that I just started card making all the time just for fun. I love it!

I had seen some rubber stamps at Walmart many years ago and thought they would be neat to stamp the back of envelopes with. Had them for quite awhile before I used them--with embossing powder over a toaster. Wasn't that impressed with them, but liked the idea and gradually started adding better quality and more variety. I've been stamping many years now---coming a long way! Thank you!

My mother, God rest her soul, always sent cards to people and I rarely did. And she loved to receive them too. She always bought her cards. But when my friend invited me to stamp with her I thought I could carry on Mom's tradition. I think of her every time I make a card. It's been a wonderful pass time and a way to stay in touch with lots of people that I probably wouldn't have without this hobby. Thanks for the chance to win the yummy candy! Have a great week! A cardmaking friend tried for months to get me to come over go give it a try - she said I had an amazing grasp of colour. I was awed by the wonderful cards she occasionally sent me (to tease me? highly likely), so finally I agreed. I was HOOKED from then on. Now, not only does she inspire me, but I find wonderful ideas by looking at all the lovely blogs, galleries, websites and tutorials available, including the blog here at heartsnhugs (I will definitely be using the one about using CI paints/sponge dauber - thanks!). Lovely prize, good luck to all the entrants!

I like to blame my addictions on my mother...she was going to Michaels for beading supplies and saw all the scrapbook stuff and thought it would be neat for me to use scrapbooking to save all my Celine Dion articles/memorabilia. 5.5 years later, I am a full blown addict LOL!

I started stamping about the same time since I used the stamps in my scrapbook, then I was invited to a CTMH party and an SU party, and my cardmaking days took off from there.

Looking forward to the new release!

Well my answer has several parts! My hubby is actually the one who got me started with stamping believe it or not! We were Christmas shopping in NH one day back in the early 90's and I was in another store and he saw this heat embossing demo in a store. He came and got me because he knew being the artsy craftsy person I was... I'd love it! Well he was right! We ended up buying all the supplies for me to make all our Christmas tags and a few cards that year. I stuck mainly to tags for a number of years. Then came my first Grand child and scrapbooking began. Then, my DD, who used to love making those tags with me as a teen... went to a SU! worshop and showed me what they did.... and the rest is history as they say! I started into card making BIG time and have not looked back since!

I often wonder if my DH ever regrets getting me started in this hobby? LOL! He's now finishing off a room for me in the basement to hold all my supplies!!! LOL!

Thanks for this fun chance to win these absolutely precious stamps!!!

My mom inspired me to start stamping. She went to a Stampin' Up party around 20 years ago now and showed me what you could do and I loved it. I ordered a bunch of things from Stampin Up (and my mom was in WI and I was in NC), so we shared our hobby via the phone and sendning cards. Then I had my first child and took a long break, as I couldn't find the time. But about 6 years ago, a friend introduced to one of her friends who was a Stampin Up demonstrator and the passion was ignited again, we started getting together with a group of people to have "craft night" and from there have found all of these wonderful products out on the internet. It is a great way to express your creativity even if you can't draw or paint, and just a lot of fun. Thanks for the fun contest, can't wait to see the new releases- Elisabeth's stamps are some of my favorites!

The answer is convoluted in a way. My nieces have been scrapbooking for years. My usual new baby gift was a covered photo album with a personalized cross-stitch framed on the front. They tried to convince me to start scrapping, but I didn't feel I had any talent in that area. Now I work with and am a close friend to a lady who scraps. She encouraged me to come "to play" at her house. So I started an album of our trip to Italy. Shortly there after she introduced me to card making. WELL, that was it, I was "hooked". Now, just 3 years later, I can't imagine a day without doing some form of scrapbooking/cardmaking!! Thankfully I have a wonderful husband who is VERY supportive. He makes sure I get food and sleep! My biggest project now is to go back over the years of pics of my two grown sons and complete a scrapbook for each of them. It is so hard to CHOOSE the photos!!
Thanks for "listening" to my story and thanks too for the chance to win! You can never have too many supplies:)

My cousin got me interested in stamping many years ago and I've been addicted ever since! I also started scrapping to keep memories of my children who are now in their 20's so those scrapbooks are precious. I love making and sending cards to keep in touch the "old fashioned" way with friends and family. They love the personal touch!

Hi Susana! I started stamping about 10 years ago when a friend from work introduced me. It wasn't until about 3 years ago that I really got "addicted!". I was staying at home with my kids and I just needed something to do just for myself. The rest is history!

My daughter talked me into buying a scrapping kit several years ago. Thinking it would be a here today gone tomorrow thing I did it. But I am so glad I started this. About 5 years ago I started stamping. It just adds a little magic to scrapping and cardmaking. I'm sure these new stamps will be beautiful. Thanks for the chance to win.

Hi there! I started scrapbooking for my son - so I could remember all the precious moments. However at times I become "stumped" or "stuck" and frozen. It was during one of these times that I fell into cardmaking and am now obsessed...LOL. I love how quickly I can create something (versus the time it takes to complete a scrapbook page). And it feels like therapy coloring the stamped images. Thank you for the chance to win these stamps. I love Elisabeth Bell's images and your store!

I started scrapping back in 1997 when I picked up my first issue of Creating Keepsakes. I looked at my three small children and thought about each milestone, I knew it was something I never wanted to forget! I also wanted to capture these moments so they can enjoy them when they have their own children!!
Can't wait for the new release!

To tell you the truth there was no inspiration necessary. My 1st introduction to stamping was card-making at a Stampin up workshop 14 years ago. I was hooked before I even saw her finish her card or learned the many fabulous techniques. My mind began going and going and there was NO turning back. From that day forward my motto has been you are only limited in what you can do with stamps by your own imagination. I currently design the FREE weekly Make & Takes for Stamp Express, a local Stamp/Scrapping Shoppe, I also teach clases for them and I just designed a line of 21 exclusive designer papers for them and I am working on designing an exclusive line of stamps for them as well. I also plan and host Mini Conventions for a friend and local Stampin Up Manager, which she hold twice a year for her down line. I plan the entire mini convention, prepare the Projects for the Make and Takes, meals and all. Both places pay me in product of my choice which supports my habit and and makes us all incrdibly happy. Stamping & Scrapbooking is a passion and a way of life, not sure what my life would be like if I didn't stamp, it really is who I am the InkyWoman@comcst.net

I started stamping after attending an in home party for D.O.T.S. I thought some of the techniques she demonstrated were so COOL.

Scrapping was several years later and actually began in 1998 as something to do while on bedrest with my second child. DH was very supportive and it has just expanded since then :)

Thank you for a great opportunity to win wonderful stamps!

I had a really bad scare in 2000 and I really thought that I wasn't going to make it. I was a divorced mom and I realized that if I did die in that hospital that noone could or would be able to tell my story to my daughter. Or tell her what she meant to me. So I started scrapping and making different things that I felt would show her our life. I have made a complete recovery and have since married a wonderful man and have 2 step-sons. I still have that first album I made of my daughters first year and I take it out every 5th of October. Now I make cards and invitations etc...

I began scrapping about 15 years ago, after my son was born and I had tons (and tons) of pictures that I wanted to preserve. I began stamping a couple of years ago, because it's like the grown up version of coloring (and I LOVED to color with crayons when was a kid), only with better tools. Copic markers are my favorites to color with and there are so many stamps just begging to be colored.

I have always been crafty, making handmade quilts, crocheting, and making most of my clothes growing up. But when my first grandson was born ten years ago, I started scrapbooking. Four years later I went to my first home stamping party and was hooked! I started selling my cards and have grown so much in this field! I still scrapbook a little but not much and I should because the family is growing! I'm inspired by all of the ideas on the net, the new stamps, the new embellishments, new cardstock, etc. I have such a variety of stamps! This gives me something to do each day and keeps my fingers and mind active!

There were a couple of things that started me off on my journey of cardmaking. First thing was getting my girls some stamps for a Christmas gift at JoAnn's. Then going to a real stamp store and seeing embossing and the wonderful cards that could be made.

I first started stamping 6 years ago because I was inspired by the beautiful cards that my Sunday School teacher's wife had made for our church fundraiser. I had just had my first child and was looking for a hobby to help give me some "me" time. She and I became best friends and stamped every week until she recently moved. We still get together and stamp, and I absoultely love doing it!

I started scrapbooking because I attended a party for a scrapbooking company just before my 2nd child was born 4 1/2 years ago. I was already taking TONS of pictures, and didn't want them to just end up in a box - I wanted my kids (and my husband & I) to be able to remember everything about their childhood. I am a little behind on it right now, but it is such a joy to do. Even at age 6 and 4 my children love to look at the scrapbooks and relive those memories!

I started scrapping to create a heritage album for each of my children. That was in 1992. I haven't looked back. Last year, I found Copic markers, and bought a few. I loved them. Now I am hooked. I am Copic certified. I teach Copic classes and have been asked to sell my cards in a local store. I can't get enough stamps and Copic markers. They are just so much fun.

I have not done one scrapbook page since but I do have a nice pile of cards! lol I have a good friend that stamps a lot and tried to tell me how much fun it was but I was not interested in stamping at all........until CARDS! I started scrapbooking over 10 years ago, I have literally 1000's of pictures that still need to be put in books, but alas stamping found its way into my home. I don't really remember how I started stamping but I did and though I don't regret it, hubby wishes I hadn't found it. Consequently, I have put scrapping on a back burner but getting the itch to do some more of that lately.

Hi Susana and Suzanne,
Well... this is how I remember it. As a small child I was always making something new out of practically nothing; I expect I inherited this gift from my grandparents, for whom it was a necessary way of life. Then, at age 9, a truly wonderful birthday present from Mom and Dad, a brand new hard cover edition of McCall's Make-It Book! I was over the moon and on my way to a good life in creativity heaven. Growing up meant happily learning a multitude of handicrafts; marked by another magic moment when my Dad installed a motor on the sewing machine - holy smokes - now I was really flying (but only during tv commercials or else my brothers would yell at me to stop the darn noise). Then Dad brought a loom into the house, I learned and loved weaving, so did he.
Fast forward to today, children grown, Home Ec career done and here is my wonderful daughter-in-law showing me some cards she made at a SU party. I tried it for myself... experienced a glimmer of hope for a new hobby... shortly followed by a tremendous flash-back in the creative side of my brain... I am transported back to elementary school, where I am a little girl standing trance-like in the doorway of my teacher's art supply closet, seeing and smelling the gorgeous stacks of colored paper, pencils, paints, brushes, glue and all the other intriguing objects of my dreams! I'm hooked :D
Thus, begins another phase in my life and I'm loving every minute of discovery and meeting many marvelous people who love it too.
xoxo

I started scrapbooking right after my oldest son was born. I had SO many pictures taken of special moments, and I did not want to just out them in an album. I wanted to do something special. So, I started learning about scrapbooking. I have LOVED everything from there.
Stamping is something pretty new to me, and I am still learning different techniques and purchasing new stamps as they come out. I am loving the look that stamps give to projects and paper. It is wonderful to watch a project transform into something else once a stamp is added. I love copic markers, colored pencils, and adding embossing & flower soft to stamps. It makes everything POP! So much fun. Thanks so much for the giveaway and the constant inspiration!

I can't remember when I first got interested into stamping. I can remember having a few stamps & some glitter in a shoebox forever. I made my daughter's graduation announcement on the computer. I can remember trying to melt embossing powder over a candle flame before I got my heat gun. I guess that I really got into stamping when I was given a bunch of OLD familiy pictures that my parents had stored in a box down in the basement. I needed supplies to do it with; didn't I. I started to attend some scrapping & stamping conventions; watching the demos, & I wanted to buy it all. The rest is history.

What fantastic blog candy you are giving away. You're so kind to do this.

I have done all kinds of crafts since I was a little girl. I love doing handwork and give the items to friends and family as gifts. Now that I'm older and have arthritis I had to give up most of my hand work. I still can do stamping and like making cards. I've been making our Christmas cards (60 to 70 cards per year) for the past 29 years. And I make cards during the year for birthdays, wedding, babies, etc. Stamping and making cards is something I enjoy doing and it's a creative outlet and relaxing for me. The cards are a way for me to still enjoy a craft and give to people.

Thanks for a chance to win some great blog candy.

I was inspired by my daycare provider. She felt that it was very important that her parents "see" what their kids did while away from mom and dad. Each year for christmas she provided every family with a scrapbook of each child and what they did ALL YEAR! These were 12X12 scrapbooks for each child. It was very important to her that each 1st remained a first for the parents and although she took pictures all year she didn't share in first steps or words so that we could experience that together. She took our kids on field trips and had parties for every occasion and scrapped about it in our gift. When I finally became a SAHM I wanted to continue what she had so lovingly started and I knew just where to go to find out how! My son graduates from high school next year and I have a mountain of memories thanks to one very special lady who took her time and money to ensure that I got to "watch" my child grow up even though I was a working mom!

I love this question - My mother taught me to sew when I was 7 and she passed away when I was 10. I continued sewing for myself, family and then friends. My favorite was making gifts. I always personalize my gifts whenever possible. With the gifts, I also needed a card but could never find the "perfect" card. I went to a class with a friend and discovered that I could give a special gift with a personalized card that I made and they would all match. Members of my family look forward to my gifts since they know it will be made special for them and personalized.
I absolutely love it and know if mom were here today, she would be doing it right along beside me!
Thanks for the chance to win some awesome candy.

WOW!!! First let me just tell you THANK YOU for the chance to even win this amazing candy.. I will be crossing my fingers AND Toes.. and anything else I can cross..hehe

I started Scrapbooking because I wanted my children and their children to know why a photo was taken and who was in that photo.. where we were and the sad, funny, weird, scary stories that we behind the photo.. My mom has always taken photos of us and logged on the back of the photos what they were etc.. I was 16 years old when I started my first scrapbook. I can't even tell you how much I love looking back at photos of my children and of me when I was little.. and hearing the laughter of my childrens voices when we read what was written about them or about me.. looking at the funny hair photos or my son who put a WHOLE jar of Vasaline in his hair because he wanted to do his "hair like daddy's with moose" lol or the photo where my little girl has her first Christmas Dress on that Gram made her.. etc.. to me it is not only writting down, or creating a beautiful page.. but you are also creating memories while you look back at the old ones.. It's family and quality time.. that I hope my kids will look back at these books when I am old and gone and tell their children about how we used to laugh for hrs about these books that were created out of love.. :)
Thanks again for letting me have a chance to win.. and for letting me express why I do what I love.. HUGS

Wanting to keep a history of my family was what got me started on scrapbooking, the stamping came when an aunt sent me a package with the things I'd need to get started making cards. :)

I have been scrapbooking for about 12 years now. This was a fun, exciting, different way for me to keep a baby book for my son. I wanted to do something more in depth than a regular baby book. And I have been hooked on scrapbooking ever since. As far as cardmaking goes I just got into that a couple years ago and I got into that because I needed a card for a friend but didn't have the money to go out and purchase one but had all my scrapbooking supplies lying around so I decided to stop and make a card. And I haven't been able to stop. I haven't bought a card since the one I bought before that very first card I made!!!

Thank you so much for the chance to win these stamps. I only just started using stamps within the last year so my stamp supply is very small so this is a much needed addition for me and would be welcomed with open arms!

Oh wow! Thanks for offering up such wonderful blog candy! I started stamping after I received a Cricut Expression machine for Christmas a few years back. I started looking through the internet to find crafts/ projects that I could make using the cricut then I came across all these wonderful card making blogs featuring some of the cutest little girl stamps and new I had to try it. This also led me to copic markers and discovering Suzanne Dean on Youtube and all her awesome tutorials.

Oh my - that's an easy question. I have always been a seamstress and quilter so creating is in my blood. I saw a card done by a local girl and contacted her immediately to ask if she gave classes, she does and it snowballed from there. She gave me some websites to purchase products and I found all you wonderful crafters out there. This has been soooooo much fun - and what fantastic blog candy. Would love to win. Sharon M.

I've always been interested in art and doing creative things, but after high school I didn't do much in either category. Then one day a friend took me to a scrapbooking class and needless to say, I've been hooked ever since. I loved the idea of journaling to capture what happened so I would remember in years to come.

Now, I've been getting into cardmaking, which is really motivating because it doesn't take as long to complete the project and you have something great after just a few hours. It takes so long sometimes to do a scrapbook page or album. But a card can be whipped out in a short amount of time. Plus the joy it brings to someones else is priceless!

In the middle 90's, I saw some samples of stamped cards in various spots--carts in center of mall aisle, area of small boutique shops., It fascinated me and when I saw images I liked I started coollecting rubber stamps. I started searching for inks and learning the differences. When I saw heat embossing I was hooked completely and this is probably 5000 stamps or so later. Of course scrapbooking came along when I saw the Thomas Kinkade papers and album. I just love all coloring techniques, etx. Copic markers are my newest collection--thanks Susanne J. Dean! Then in 2007 my hubby got me a Cricut to help me with my scrapping and on the Cricut MB I saw a stamping bella stamp that I just had to have. So since early 2007 is when I started stamping and I haven't turned back since. My scrapping has taken a back seat to my stamping! I absolutely love stamping and card making...coloring is my favorite past time and a great stress reliever! Since I found Copics I am so in love with coloring!!!

I've been scrapping for about 5 years now and it all started when we wanted to make a special gift for my Mom for her 50th birthday. We made a book of pictures through the years. Shortly after that I got married and did an album for that and I pretty much have never looked back.

Cardmaking is a little more of a recent hobby for me but I am totally addicted. I love sending homemade cards out.

Hi, what started me with scrapping was all the pictures of my grandson and wanting to give them something that would relive all the fun times and the precious moments of their lives, which then lead me into stamping within the scrapbooks. First it was scrapbooks for each of them, then our yearly vacation together. I quickly became addicted to rubber stamps, when a friend gave me the link to SCS and there started my addiction to card making.

I've always been a craft person I think it's just in the way I was brought up. My mother sewed our clothes for us and I actually LOVED wearing them :) My grandmother taught me how to needlepoint. I started papercrafting when my daughter was born. I didn't get into scrapbooking and it's still something I want to do even after she's turned 21 this year!! I'm so bad :( I love making cards to give to others and see their smile. Now I'm starting to make other items besides cards to broaden my ideas. I love looking at the blogs to get inspiration because without them I wouldn't still be paper crafting! :)
I love your stamps and am looking forward to seeing what your #3 is!!!

I started stamping and card making when i was pregnant with my first child as i was so bored and fed up being at home all day.I really loved it and found that the hours soon drifted by. Then my daughter was born and i had no time to do anything for myself really, a few years went by and i decided to start stamping again, as i had a bit more time for myself. Ive also just started my first ever scrapbook and have created a few pages of my daughters first year.
I felt it was only fair that she got her own scrapbook as it was because of her that i got into this fabulous hobby! :o)

My answer is "Julie" (http://catchmecrafting.blogspot.com/)- my friend of over 35 years! Julie regularly made her greeting cards for me (often up-cycling cards and adding buttons or gems) then I started making cards - mostly using the word processor and clip art. Julie discovered craft stores - a discovery she shared with me. I purchased some stamps and had one made too and stamped up some kitchen linens (oven gloves & apron) using fabric inks. But then Julie discovered craft blogs and once again shared with me the inspiration and knowledge she gained from those and the vast variety of stamps out there. It seems that everything she learned she shared with me and now we try to get together once a month to stamp and colour and create! If I am lucky enough to win these stamps (and I'm a big fan of Elisabeth Bell) then I will absolutely share them with Julie! Thank you for the opportunity! Warmest wishes, Lesley

My friend Tamie & I started scrapping way back when. I saw the scrapbook magazines in the store & just learned from there. I did some midnight crops but mainly just learned as I went. I wanted to preserve pictures & memories of Tamie's oldest that died when he was almost 4 (he was like my on little guy) and it grew from there. Cards came within the last few years & finding a happy medium for both is my problem...along with finding the mojo.

I guess I got started seriously scrapping after I started stamping. I made cards, etc. and thought stamping could also be used in scrapbooking. About that time, my kids all left home and I knew (or hoped desparately) that grandchildren would be on the way! I felt the need to scrapbook for my first grandson 'cause my daughter was practically a single mom and didn't have time - so it was up to me!!! AND I LOVE IT!!!!

I was new to my job and state (8 years ago), and a girl at work invited me to a rubber stamp party. I had no idea what she was talking about, I had never heard about stamping. I wanted to make some new friends, so I went to the party and was amazed how creative you could be making your own cards. I wondered what rock I was living under that I had never heard about stamping. So from that point on, I've been making cards and all kinds of stuff. Not to mention "collecting" every cute stamp I can get my hands on, and getting a craft room filled with wonderful stamps.

Thanks so much for the chance to share my story.

I started in this cardmaking hobby because I had a cousin who was dying from cancer, and I could never find any cards to send her. Didn't like any of the thinking of you kind, and I wanted something to just let her know we hadn't forgotten her. We didn't live near her, and cards was the only way to keep letting her know. I understand she enjoyed them, and kept looking forward to them. I've since made it a point to make some for the residents at a healthcare facility here locally. I now have another male friend who is dying as well, and the cards I send him are more filled with humor and his wife and daughter say he looks forward to getting the mail. That makes me feel good!

After my grandmother passed away years ago I did a scrapbook for my father of all of the newspaper articles and pictures that had been kept by his mother of his golfing career, dating as far back as the early 20's. It was so plain and I had no idea what I was doing but he loved it. Then my oldes grandson started to follow in his footsteps at the age of 4 so I kept everything for him and did 2 scrapbooks, but again, plain as could be. Then when my youngest grandson was in high school he played football, basketball, and baseball. His biggest accomplishments were in football so I wanted to do something really special for him for graduation and it turned out to be a scrapbook of his football career. Wow, I have to say, with help, this turned out to be my best project yet and I loved doing it because this was NOT plain. Hence, graduated from scrapbooking to cardmaking and nothing is plain anymore. I love what I do now, have learned so very much, met people from all over the world, and really enjoy my newly found craft. It's so much easier to make others happy when you give something of yourself.

oh my goodness!!! you are SO VERY GENEROUS to give away all three sets *wow wow wow*
of course I don't want to miss this chance! so here's my answer to your question: I wanted to make handmade cards to announce the birth of my youngest (fourth) son and so I started making my very first card(s). I involved stamping and heat embossing in these first beginners cards and it looked 'not too good' *lol* (you know.. all the embossing powder was floating all over the card and melting *giggle*) I think I had to make around 100 cards to get 20 that could have been sent out *lol*
Until then (five years ago) I'm totally hooked! :)

Wow!!! What an incredible candy!!

What inspired me to start scrapbooking was my children... so many firsts... first tooth, first step, first bowl of cheerios dumped on the floor....

What inspired me to start card-making was the satisfaction of completing something start to finish, in a day (unlike my scrapbooking!!), and also that I can give it away. Nobody else looks at my scrapbook pages but me :D since they are tucked away in my scrapbook room!

I think scrapping had interested me for some time before I begun. And the reason was/is that I wanted to make more peronalized card, and maybe finish an album eventually. In the beginning I used to decorate cards with cosstitched motives, but it could take some time getting just one card finished :)
And seeing somebody really appreciate the card they got is a great feeling :)

Tini said...

I've always been a craft person too. But from a crafting friend I got my first handemade stamped card in the year 1999. And I was so overwhelmed about the effect of the embossed (powder) motive. So I participated in rubber stamping workshops here in Berlin and that was my own start into rubber stamping. That´s a really my first passion. No..I think in the meantime is really a addiction *lol*. Hugs from Germany... Tini

I like many others started with scrap booking, which led to me hosting a Stampin Up party. I enjoyed stampin so much, that I became a demo..Of course,I am my best customer..lol I began using the inks and coloring that way, moved on to the OMS technique and am now using copics. The main reason I stamp is that the coloring aspect relaxes me and believe me, it works especially when I've had a hard day at the office. Also, as the caregiver of someone who is disabled with MS and 2 teenage boys, need I say more. I remember as a child my favorite toy was color by numbers...well, this is the closest I could get.

What inspired me to start scrapbooking was the fact I wanted something for my children to have one day, but also something for me to remember all those special moments. My grandfather has dimentia as did my grandfather on my mother's side. The thought of not being able to remember something or to be able to tell my kid's all those wonderful stories just inspired me to scrap all those moments. They have lost 4 of their great grandparents, but we have stories and photo's to show them so they'll know who they were. To me, that's very important.

What inspired me to start scrapping/stamping? I have seen the Cricut infomercial and always wanted to get one of those machines but the price was a little staggering. Well over the Thanksgiving holiday, and Black Friday, I was able to get a Cricut Create for a steal...after that, one of my girlfriends told me about the a Cricut MB that she belonged to where she chatted with a bunch of really talented ladies and participated in challenges etc. So I joined that Cricut MB and the rest was history!! I was officially bitten by the Bug as it were and have been scrapping different challenges ever since! There are so many techniques and cool projects out there that it is a bit overwhelming! I find that these ladies are a bunch of enablers and find myself scouting out all the deal at Michaels, AC Moore and Jo Anns!! But I have grown to love these ladies in the 3 short months I have known them and I am really having a great time! Now I need to get cracking on all the photos I have in a box that I need to scrap!

Inspiration for scrapbooking came from when my son was born and I have lots of pictures where he was hooked up to machine after machine and I could not even remember at that time what was wwhat so I had to write it down. Looking at all the baby pictures if hard enough when you see all the wires and stuff hooked up but then trying to explain to him later was just as rough. Although Making his scrapbook was difficult it is always a pleasure to show the difference from the beginning to now 14 years old on football teams and doing just fine!

Thanks for the chance to win an awesome amount of cool things!

Well, first off, WOW and THANKS for the chance to win such an AWESOME blog candy. I'm a huge fan of Elisabeth Bell's work and have quite a few of her stamps already. I even convinced my local RS store to carry Whiff of Joy so that could get more of them, then I ordered from Bells and Whistles and anywhere else that I can find her stuff. LOL. Anyway, that's a digression. To answer your question, a friend of mine invited me to a stamping party years ago. We made some really cool cards and I left with a rather large order. My collection has continued to grow since then! - Gina L

What fabulous blog candy, it's very generous of you.
To answer your question, I used to enter competitions, but it meant being on the computer all day long, entering 100 competitions a day to see some prizes. I started finding it hard being on the pc so long at a time, so I asked for some advice on another hobby I could try, in a comping forum I go in. A couple of the girls there made cards in their spare time, so they suggested it to me, and 3 of them sent me some lovely packages with card, ink and some stamps in them, amongst other things. This was 2 years ago, and I've never looked back. I do miss the competition prizes I used to win, but love stamping and colouring so much that it takes up most of my spare time now.

Wow! This is a question that needs it own blog to answer - lol! Here's mine : )

I actually started stamping AGES ago when a friend invited me to her Stampin' Up! party. Hooked!!!

Years and years passed without using them... :(

I started up again during the Summer of 09 after seeing Julie & Julia! I needed to start blogging... I began my search for knowledge and who do you think I found? None other than Suzanne J Dean!!! I began devouring her blog! I couldn't get enough - lol! So... my real answer would be that SUZANNE began my addiction to copics, stamps, paper and all things sparkly and pretty :D I think I should send her a bill!

Thanks for the FUN : )

You can play with Stamps,Fabric, paper, lace, add ons, shiney stuff, ink, colored pencil, paint, water colors, crayons, photos, buttons and baubbles! The list can go on and on...Then you get to drool over all the great blogs Like Suzannes , and buy stuff from You with a heart of gold and a great sense of Humor! My mom passed away from cancer, and my dad was in a nursing home due to COPD. I found some old photo albums in their house, and decided to scrapbook their lives. My mom was SO pretty as a young woman!

I had just discovered a scrapbook store not far from my house, however; every time I went in I was overwhelmed by the sheer variety and amount of different products. This was back in 2000, so you can imagine how I would have felt walking into the same store for the first time today! The industry has expanded greatly in 10 years.

My first purchases were cardstock, paper trimmer, decorative scissors, punches, and zig pens. Now I have a whole room stuffed full of goodies!

I would love to win these stamps, Elisabeth Bell is my absolute favorite stamp artist.

Thanks,

My son was turning 40 nad I wanted to give him a special present for the accassion. somehow he had managed to loose all of his photographes in the many moves he had made. I had never scrapped before, so I went hunting on the internet for information. I had no idea there was so much out there. I decided to use a simple digitial program. The scrapbook turned out to be both digitial and actual. I finished it on time and presented to him on his 40th birthday. He was very moved by it, and he now had all his photographes back ans in one place. Needless to say I was hooked.
I enjoy doing the actual hands on scrapping now. I also make all my own cards. I would love to win this awesome candy. What a jewel it would to had this to my collection. Thank you so much for the opportunity to enter to win. Patti Jacobs

I actually started scrapping/stamping because I recently got laid off and needed something to keep myself busy and not feel sorry for myself. After working in the healthcare field for 30+ years, losing your job is the last thing that you think will happen. So Im starting out with just a few things here and there and have discovered a wonderful group of people that scrap/stamp and it has given me a brighter outlook on how to do something I enjoy on a budget. Someone I met on a blog told how blog candy can be a good way to get some great items for free! It has also helped me make a list of 'must have' items to get as I can. Thanks for giving us this opportunity, and please know that it is appreciated.

Thanks,

Crafts and me....

...Back in November of 2007, I was doing awful and was having a terrible time in controlling the pain and fatigue of Fibromyalgia and Degenerative Disc Disease, two chronic illnesses I personally live with.

It was at the time, that I realize that I was going to have to give up my career and it was when "Fibro" pretty much took over my life. I made it through the holidays, but found myself totally depressed and bored to tears by the time the New Year rolled in. At that same time I joined my very first online Fibro Support Group and also read and researched everything I could to learn how to better live with this illness.

I was thrilled to have finally met others, who felt the same way I did and it was wonderful to talk with others who understood how I felt. They 'got it", when so many others didn't'. I also quickly realized that many of the gals in the group were scrappers or paper-crafters. One day, one of that gals asked me what hobbies I had, and it hit me, that I really didn't have any hobbies. I had loved skiing, skating, gardening and going to the beach and simply being a Mom, but my boys were older now and Fibro made most of those other hobbies almost impossible. It was then that I realized I did need "something" I could do, something that would not cause more pain. That was the day she suggested I try card-making.

That was three years ago almost to the day and now I absolutely LOVE card-making and can't imagine my life without it. That week I ordered my first "Card Kit" from QVC and the rest is history. I started with one kit, a wicker basket full of card stock, paper, stickers, ribbons, doubled sided-tape and some glue. Each weekend one of the friends would drive me to AC Moore and I'd but a few more things....! My craft stash quickly grew and I become more and more interested in this wonderful world.

Now, three years later I have turned my former den into a wonderful craft room with the help of my DH and two sons and it's my favorite room and where I spend most of my time. I LOVE it and I adore card-making and love shopping for new goodies, almost as much as crafting. I've made a world of new friends and feel so blessed that crafting came into my life. It brings me great joy, it is my form of peace and relaxation and the one GOOD thing that Fibro brought into my life.

Crafting is now ME and part of who I am and I could not be happier to have found such a wonderful hobby and a whole world of new friends!

Happy Crafting!!
Lisa

I have been crafting since I was a child, but I started making cards in 1991. My mother passed away, I was devastated, but I was lucky to have the most wonderful group friends. I wanted to send something special to everyone who helped me through my loss. The store bought thank you cards just didn't express my tremendous appreciation for all of my friends. Little did I know how therapeutic making those cards would be. Now I make them for much happier reasons, my friends look forward to getting them, they know it will be made especially for them. They are still my therapy, and each one is a tribute to my Mom.

The inspiration to start scrapbooking was my dad turning 97. My aunt, his sister, who was 83 at the time, had all the family photos and I kept asking her if I could borrow them to make copies. She finally loaned me not one, but three albums full of photos of the family from the early 1800's. I decided not only to copy the pictures but make a heritage album of my own. It took me three months to complete, and I've been going at it ever since. Soon after that,I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and didn't do much of anything for 8 mos. After chemo, a mastectomy, and radiation treatments I wanted to start scrapbooking again, but wasn't able to because of nerve damage to my fingers. My cousin introduced me to the Cricut and stamping cards, and a new card maker was born.

My dad will be 100 years old this year, so I'm looking forward to having a family reunion, take lots of pictures and make another Heritage album to include the new generation.

Thanks for asking!

Haven't done anything since then, but hopefully I'll start on my kids albums soon ...

I started stamping over 25 years ago - wow a long time ago. At that time I stamped because it was cheap and fun! (you used to be able to buy stamps at the large craft shows and that was about the only place I could find most of them!) So years, later (with many years off when I had my sewing business), that hobby is not so cheap anymore and the stamps are plentiful! Love it!

My mother had a major stroke and we had to clear out her house where she had lived for 40 years. In the last place I looked before rushing to catch my plane home I found a heap of ancient black and white photo's of the family. My sister suggesting scrapbooking them even though the hobby had not yet reached South Africa. On a visit to Australia I stocked up on what I thought I needed, paid for the overweight luggage and the rest is history !

I started stamping about 13years ago following the receipt of a gorgeous Mothers Day card from my son. The card was quite simple although elegant and caught my imagination enough for me to think -'I could do that'. My adiction to cardmaking had begun although I didn't realise then how it would eventually change my life. From making simple, and I mean simple, cards, I have progressed to more elaborate efforts and have accumulated so many stamps that I lost count years ago. Although I no longer have space for more stamps, I still buy them, especially the amazingly gorgeous Sarah Kay, Tim Holtz and Lindsay Mason stamps. As for scrapping, well that's another story. I lost my special pal, my chocolate Burmese cat, Toby the year before last and to help with that loss I started to scrap his photos. This has also been an amazing journey, but one I don't want to finish - ever. My stamping and scrapping has also enhanced my life forever because through it I have made the most precious friends. The paper craft community is the best in the whole world, and I am proud to belong to it. xx

Hi Susana and Suzanne, I was inspired to start stamping myself as I found that trawling around the card shops in Britain teadious, I always bought a card which was way overpriced and that either had the right picture with the wrong verse or visa versa. So I thought that I'd make my own especially for the person whom was to receive it. Voila, enjoyment at making it, and enjoyment at the recipients comments after receiving it. No looking back now, just need to take the leap into scrapbooking.
