BFF'S

I've used the sweet image BFF'S from the WinterWonderland Collection designed by Victoria Case for SCACD, colored with my Prisma Color Pencils.
I've used sequins to embellish my card, it's not often I pull out those 'old timers'! *LOL* I put Kaisecraft Rhinestones in the centers. The fun background paper with pine trees is from the BasicGrey pad Eskimo Kisses, right now on sale at Susana's! The sentiment is in Norwegian and says Merry Christmas.

If you like the stamps (and other fun stuff) from Susana's shop SCACD, you should know that it's closed from December 23rd thru January 1st 2010. On the 2nd you can put thingies in the carts again. You can go window shopping during the Holidays, there's just no carts to put items in.

I'd like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!

Shake 'Em Up!!

Today I've got a fun project for you today using some of my fave Lockhart Stamp Co. Itty Bitty stamps!  I created a fun set of 3 notecards and 3 matching tags that are shaker tags! The tags could be re-used or put on the tree for Christmas--fun to give & recieve.  All of the patterned paper is by SU and my images are colored with Copics.  I kept the layout simple, simple embossing on the white (different with each card) and a fun touch like stickles or snow added.  Quick & easy to make up and a fun set to give!  The tags are made with my Nestabilities shapes (the circles fit the sweet cups perfectly) and SU's "sweet treat cups"(order them HERE for only $2.95 for 12)--I've been wanting to use these for awhile now!

Frosty mitten notecard set---isn't it fun & so wintry, perfect for the holidays or just a hello/birthday card in the winter!  This set uses the Lockhart Stamp "IB Mittens" and inside the shaker box I added MS snow glitter & some blue tinsel glitter as well.  I used my nestability shapes to create the circles and a cuttlebug embossing folder for the background.  The SU sweet treat cups come in packs of 12 & already have adhesive on them--just peel the paper layer off & adhere!

This set uses the Lockhart Stamp "Daisy Cupcake" and I added yellow & pink Doodlebug glitter to the shaker tag!  Some stickles on the cupcake and my Swiss Dots CB embossing folder!  I purposefully left off sentiments from these cards so they could be used for many occasions.

This set uses the Lockhart Stamp "IB Cape Cod House"--perfect for a new neighbor, new home or just a hello card. I added some fun green MS microbeads to the shaker tag and used my Textile Texture CB folder for the background.  I love that lil' mini house and I added some stickles to the house & around the circle!!  These Itty Bitty stamps are so fun to use & quick and easy to color up!

On the back of each shaker tag I stamped the To/From sentiment using my PTI "Holiday Tags" set!  You could whip up a batch of these in a flash I tell ya!

Happy Holiday & Happy New Year to you!!
Suzanne

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICOLE

Meet Fashionista. She is an image from the Elisabeth Bell Collection for SCACD. Isn't she fun? How many of us shop with a cell phone to our ear?

Today is my granddaughter's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICOLE !!! She loves to shop. I will be going to Alabama to see her the day after Christmas and I will take this to her along with her birthday present. She is 5 years old today.

Now, on to the card. I have wanted to make one of these cards with the drawers. This particular card has 4 drawers with an Easel card on top. I paper pieced the image and colored her hair and skin with Copics. The orange spray is one I picked up at Hobby Lobby.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Cupcake Craft Challenge - Birthday card
Stamp With Fun - Little Presents
Creative Card Crew - Anything Goes
Cute Card Thursday - Sew Beady - use beads somewhere
Daring Cardmakers - Going Dotty

The little knobs on the drawers are wood that I painted orange. As you can see, the drawers are also lined with the same background paper as the card.

I love these little Petaloo flowers. They can be used in so many ways.

The picture does not show the stickles around the edge very well. The swirl is also glittered.

This is what the card looks like closed. I hope you enjoyed viewing my card and will stop by again.

Everyone have a wonderful holiday and Christmas!!

Try It Out Tuesday #48--Bling It Out!!

Hiya Friends!!  So today is a Tuesday which means it's another "Try It Out Tuesday #48" for Susana's Custom Art & Card Design store and it's the last challenge of the year!  I challenged the DT to BLING IT OUT--all sparkles, shimmers & shines apply!  This is easy peasy for me since I'm like a magpie and love anything sparkly, hee hee!  I chose to make a gift & card for my daughter--she's a shopaholic like me so this Elisabeth Bell for SCACD image "Fashionista" works perfectly!  I had to make this "teen appropriate" so I used my DCWV/Trimcraft papers which have such fun holiday colors and patterns.  I created a fun card for her and altered a lil' tin to hold a gift card to one of her favorite stores.

I colored her with my Copics and then added lots of stickles to her outfit, bags & shoes and some to the dp!  The swirls are rub-ons from Trimcraft, I added some sparkly glitter dots and then layered punched-out snowflakes with these cool lilac sparkle flowers (picked up in Michael's Wedding aisle).  The sentiment is from PTI's "Stocking Prints" set.  (COPICS USED: V08,V06,V12,V00/YR24,Y21,YR20/C5,C3,C2)

I get packs of these lil' hinged tins HERE--they're easy to alter and make fun gift holders for gift cards, candy, jewelry & lots of other things!  I just covered it with papers to match--attached with my Scor-Tape and added another layered snowflake.  Inside it holds a Gift Card to Target (my daughter's card will be to Aeropostale and Borders though--but she was around so I had to use a different gift card, hee hee)!  A perfect gift set for a teen!  I love to alter images to make them fit different occasions--stretches your dollars and makes your stamps super versatile!

Now make sure & scroll down to see the rest of the DT's Blinged Out Projects--they're sure to sparkle & shine!

And a Happy Holidays to you & yours--hope it's everything you want it to be now & in the New Year!

hugz,
Suzanne

Bling! YAY!!

First of all i apologize for being a bit late with my post but i am HERE!

Suzanne asked us to use bling on our creations this week - like that was a challenge hee heee! i am ALWAYS up for some bling! my bling of choice for this round is Creative Inspirations paints created by my friend Molly. i helped her out with the initial testing and fell IN LOVE WITH THEM!
as soon as i saw the Atlantia stamp by Elisabeth Bell i knew i wanted to try this technique with her. i began by putting the card base together using the gorgeous Basic Grey Wisteria papers.

look what happens when you tilt the card - the shimmer is just deeLISH!
i stamped Atlantia in versamark and embossed her with clear embossing powder on shimmery white cardstock (it has a coating to it that makes this work better.) then i misted the piece heavily with water. next i added aquamarine, sunshine & olive green CI paints randomly across the image with a water brush and just let the colors thin out and run in the water.
i propped it up & let it dry and love the free flowing shimmering effect!
i hope you all have a wonderful holiday season!!!
hugs

TIOT #48~Bling! Bling!! Bling It On!!!

Happy Tuesday!!!  It is time for a new Try It Out Tuesday; and this week, our challenge is to create a card filled with...BLINGGITY!  BLING!  BLING!!  BLING!!!  So, it is time to dig out all of your sparkly, shiny, shimmery goodies and let your creativity flow:o)  If you would like to share your razzle dazzle creations with the rest of us, you can upload it to the store blog, PCP, or SCS.  Don't forget to tag your creation with TIOT48 if posting it to PCP or SCS...this way, we can find your fabulous blinged out works of heART:o)

I won't bore you with loads of details, as I know this is a VERY busy time of year.  But I will tell you that the layout for this card was inspired by the beautiful sketch on Sketch Saturday, and the precious stamp is Skater by Victoria Case made exclusively for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design.  If she is a stamp you have been eyeing for a while, then now would be the perfect time to add her to your wintery stamp collection.  As for the bling I used...there is Diamond Glaze...Crystal Stickles...Kaisercraft Diamond Rhinestones...a dab of Moonlight Smooch...a rhinestone ribbon slide by Martha Stewart...and heart-shaped rhinestones from K and Company.

I sure hope you have a beautiful and blessed Tuesday:o)  Thank you for taking time out of your hectic holiday schedule and stopping by for a bit!!!

Hugs!
Carolyn

Bling it!!!!

Hej!

It's time for another TIOT before we go on a small X-mas break. This time Suzanne wants us to "bling it". Well - I wanted to try something new - so I decided to colour 2 Turtle Doves with my copics and create a gift tag of this cute image. Then I added 3d gloss around on the heart and sprinkled tons of glitter (yes - I'm covered in it as well :-). Let it dry for a little bit and then I added the 3d gloss all over the girl. Waited again and then a third layer of 3d gloss.

I then put the image in my freezer for a couple of hours. When it was cold enough - I folded the heart in different ways to create cracks. I wanted this to look like a heart of glass with a few cracks ;-)

Well - the whole tag is now shining, but of course I needed to add stickles and smooch on the leaves - because otherwise they looked so dull compared to the rest of the image..hihi...

Now - the only problem with this - is to get a nice picture of it without having the flash reflection in the image. Well - that was not so easy. Anyway - I took two pictures - one with flash and the other one without. I do hope you can see the bling :-)

Hope you like it and I do hope that my niece - who will receive this gift tag on one of her X-mas gifts - will like it as well.

Also - make sure that you receive what you want from Santa and place your order this week. Susana is going to take a well deserved small holiday break between Dec 23rd - Jan 1st. So just to make sure that you get what you want - pop over and place your order now!

Kram and I hope to hear from you - even if I know that you all are superbusy with the last minute preparations for the holidays.

TIOT48 - Bling It On!

It's Tuesady!! Do you love it?! We have another fantastic Try It Out Tuesday challenge from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design for you today! This week's challenge (TIOT48 calls for BLING!!!! Aside from sketch challenges, challenges to add BLING are my most favorite things! LOL. For today's card I used one of the new Elisabeth Bell for SCACD images from the Sampler Edition #2. All kinds of bling are welcome so get it out and play along!

I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on PTI white cardstock and colored with Copic markers. After she was colored up, I cut her out with Long Rectangle Nesties, layered, and put together the mats. The rest is all patterned paper and bling (and patterned paper with bling!) I used some metallic gold Robin's Nest Dew Drops/Tear Drops on the corners, they are perfect with these colors and papers. She is FABULOUS, another gorgeous girl from the minds of Elisabeth and Susana!

Oh, and don't forget, selected Spellbinders are on sale over at her shop in the Specials section - great deals to be had and once they are gone, they are gone so get yours!

TIOT #48--New Year's Bling

Welcome to the last Try It Out Tuesday for the year! We will resume the fun challenges on January 5th!!
Our challenge today is New Year's Bling! Make your cards sparkle, shine and brilliant in any way (stickles, glitter, embossing, rhinestones, pearls, Smooch, Shimmerz, etc).  Well, if you've been to my blog at all, you know that I LOVE this challenge!! LOL!!

I needed a card for Belle's dance teacher so I thought Belle would be a fun stamp to use today.
I couldn't decide which photos were the *best* so you get a few to look at!

supplies:
What I did:

I stamped Belle onto my cardstock twice with memento ink and colored both images with copics. I used shimmerz on her tights/leggings. I masked off the floor on one of the images and sprayed the cardstock with Smooch Spritz--love this stuff!! I will be talking about the Smooch Spritz on Thursday but one thing I forgot to do on this project is to spray the smooch spritz on some scrap cardstock first...that helps get most of the bigger splotches out and gives you more control. Then I cut out Belle on the other image to layer onto the bottom spritzed piece. I used my CM cutting system to cut the ovals out.

I dug in my stash of paper to find something to go with Belle and then figured out the layout--which I kept very simple. I added some embellishments, some touches of copic glitter pens, stardust pens and stickles to finish the card.

Try It Out Tuesda #48 - Bling It Out with Dance!

Today is Try It Out Tuesday for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design and our inspirational leader, Suzanne, challenged us to bling it up! If there's anyone who loves Stickles as much as me, it's got to be Suzanne! But I've got to admit that I did hold back just a bit and tried to let Belle, this gorgeous stamp from Victoria Case from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design, shine on her own.

This time of the year always brings thoughts of the Nutcracker Suite and I thought I'd do Belle up in a soft colors and make her pop with this gorgeous paper from DCWV. She's colored with copics and I added some silver rhinestones to the corner of her frame and just let her sweet self stand out.

Don't they have the most gorgeous faces? You could just color them over and over.

So make sure you head on over to Follow Your Heart and see what my of so talented designing friends have come up with for your viewing pleasure! And remember, blinging it up always makes things better!

Card Ingredients:

Belle from the Hearts and Hugs Collection from Victoria Case for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design, Stickles, copics, Dress It Up paper pack from DCWV, ribbon, hatpin, silver rhinestones, Diamond Glaze.

Flower Notes!

Hiya Friends!!  I've got a quick & fun project for you today!  I used a fabulous Lockhart Stamp called "Delphinium & Peony"--love these flower images--for my projects today.  I paired it up with some more of those yummy My Mind's Eye papers called "Life Stories"--PTI's cs ocean tides & spring moss matches perfectly with them. My set includes a card and a matching post-it note holder with pen.

My image was colored with copics (BG75,BG72,BG10/E44,E43,E42,E41/YG25,YG67,G20) and then I added some stickles to the flowers and diamond glaze to the watering can.  That pretty border was done with a brand NEW MS deep border punch called "floral vine" (LOVE IT, like the larger border size), wrapped with matching PTI ribbon & added some pearls to the corners.  (the bow was made with my fave Bow Easy tool)

Side view of the post-it note holder---you can find the directions for this HERE on SCS!  The scrolls are from one of my fave punches that you can buy HERE.

And this is what is on the inside when you open it--a nice pad of post-it notes and a small pen (I get my mini pens from the $1 bins at Michaels).  A nice gift for someone special in your life (hostess gifts, teacher gifts, etc.).

hugz,
Suzanne

TIOT #47 ~ Fold It!

Hi there! A new Tuesday and a new challenge for the SCACD DT members, today we were to make a card using some kind of fancy folding! I went searching on the net and found a tutorial for this fun card, click here to see it.

I stamped the wonderful shopping girl Fashionista from the Sampler Edition #2 by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD, colored with Prismacolor pencils.

Other things I've used are Spellbinder Nestabilities, Kaisercraft Rhinestones, Prima Jewellery, Petaloo Flower, leaf punch and ribbon.

If you're looking for nice offers you should check out the Specials section of Susana's shop!
Right now you can find selected Spellbinders on sale!
There's also always lots of new fun stuff to find at the shop, check out these fabulous Bella Baubles mixes! Perfect embellies for any project!

In the video tutorial she says to score at 3", but I found that the square will be slightly off center if I do that, so I scored at 3 1/4", and then it looks OK! I made a scoring template if you like to try to make this fun card. You should watch the video first, then you'll understand my template better...

(Just a short note before you start, the size of the paper is 11" x 11")

Try It Out Tuesday #47~Fancy Folds

Happy Tuesday!!!! I hope your week is off to a wonderful start:o)  It is time for a new Try It Out Tuesday Challenge; and this week, Suzanne is challenging us to create a card using a Fancy Fold.  You can create a trifold...easel...gatefold...anything goes just as long as it isn't a regularly folded card.

For my card, I chose to create an easel card.  My super talented friend, Barbara, has been making some stunning creations using this fold (if you are not familiar with her blog, you really need to check out her beautiful creations), and I have been wanting to give it a try.  When this challenge was issued, I thought...now is the perfect time to do it, and here it is.

The card stock is by DCWV and all the patterned papers are by Heidi Grace.  I found this yummy paper at Tuesday Morning and have been saving it for the perfect image.  As soon as I saw the lovely Cherry Blossom by Elisabeth Bell for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design, I knew it was time to pull out those beautiful papers.  I colored Ms. Blossom with Prismacolor markers and added some Diamond Glaze and Stickles for a bit of pizzazz.  She was cut out with my large classic oval nesties and adhered to the matching scallop nesties.  A bit of Offray ribbon was added, along with some Kaisercraft pearls, Spare Parts blossoms, and a decorative button. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and is stamped using SU's Close to Cocoa ink.  Voila...the card is complete!  In all honesty, I thought this card would take forever to make.  To my wonderful surprise, it came together VERY quickly!!!  In fact, I think I am addicted:o)  You just may be seeing more of these cards...hope you don't get sick of 'em!

Well that about does it for me!!!  I hope your Tuesday is incredible and filled with loads of blessings!!!  Thank you for dropping bu for a bit.  It means a great deal to me that you take the time out of your very busy day to stop by and take a peek!!  Don't forget to stop by SCACD and check out ALL the AMAZING SPECIALS she has going on at the moment!!!  Believe me, you will not be disappointed; and the savings are so exceptional, you can load up your shopping cart with goodies absolutely guilt free!!!  Have a great one, my friends!!!

Big Hugs!!
Carolyn

Fancy Fold

How are you ladies? I guess you all are superbusy with the preparations for X-mas.
Always wondering why the days run so fast in December...hihi..... Anyway - we have a new
TIOT for you - just to make sure that you get a break from all the things on your "to-do-list".
This time we want you to show us a card with a special fold - using one of the new E Bell stamps for SCACD. Well - I decided to just play and see what I could come up with and hm...not sure what to call this fold - but it has to be Anki's Special...hihi.....
I cut my cardstock into 6 x 6 and fold it. Then I cut almost half of the front off. Added some layers of Basic Grey DP and cut the window with my punch. Added ribbon and acetate sheet for the window. Coloured sweet Atlantia with my copics and added stickles as highlights on some parts. (Therefore the flash reflection - sorry.....). Created a frame around Atlantia (put it on 3d dots), added Bella Baubles instead of nails :-) and then glued the framed picture to an accordian fold so that you can lift the image out of the cardbase and make it stand on your desk. Not really sure on how to describe it - but I hope you understand what I mean.
Added a punched circle (to avoid the framed pic to fall down), Country Elegance flower and Prima Flower Center Sultan. The sentiment is a rub-on - sent to me from my sweet friend Tammi. Well - I hope you like the Anki's Special fold ;-)

Also - I do hope that you have not missed the SPECIALS that Susana has put together for you. I'm sure you will need something (you can always wrap it and say that it's to you from your secret Santa...hihi.....)

Try It Out Tuesday #47 - Fun Folds!

Is there anything cuter than a little girl at Christmas time with some books? I absolutely adore Daisy from the Sampler 2 from Elisabeth Bell for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design and have been waiting for the perfect time to color her up. Suzanne, our oh so talented Design Team leader challenged us to create a card with folds and I decided to do a gate card. It's simple, but I love how you can decorate the sides and use ribbon and flowers. And the way it opens is fabulous!

Make sure to stop over to Susana's Custom Art and Card Design as she's got some great new products and deals going on. A selected few of her Shapeabilities are on sale so go on over and get a deal on some of them.

You know how I love these sweet faces! I just couldn't resist putting this one on a cute Christmas top with some green bows in her hair. Nothing makes me as happy as coloring up an Elisabeth Bell creation!

I love the look of the gate card and you can do anything with them that you want!

Make sure to stop by Follow Your Heart and see what my other Design Team commrades have come up with for you. They never let you down!
