Lockhart CAS Notecards (clean & simple)!!

I love making Clean & Simple cards with Lockhart stamps--so fun to whip up & easy too! Today I used the Lockhart stamp "Rose of Sharon"! I'm having a blast making sets of CAS notecards I tell ya and Lockhart stamps make it so easy to do--so many to choose from too! The image was colored with Copics and then I added some stickles to the flower centers. The dp is My Minds Eye that I cut into strips and added to white glossy cs. Wrapped it with sheer pink ribbon (same that I used above) and topped it off with a double bow. Easy peasy, notecards whipped up in a jiff!

*************************
RBW Notecards--CAS

And I had to continue on my quest to try & make more Clean and Simple cards (CAS) and since I had these papers & markers out already--I decided to use the same color scheme! I pulled out my Lockhart Itty Bitty stamps "Apple" and "Cherry" and created a fun & cheery notecard set in minutes--4 of them too (GASP)! Colored these images quickly, mounted them onto cs and added stickles to the border edge. The sentiments are from the PTI set "Everyday Button Bits" and then I added a few red rhinestones to finish it off! I even stamped some cute lil' images on the matching envies!

Hope you'll give CAS notecards a try--great to give as gifts or just to keep in your own personal stash! Have a fabulous weekend!

Try It Out Tuesday 41--Metal Musings!!

Try It Out Tuesday #41

Happy Tuesday Stampin' Friends!! So since it's Tuesday that means it's another Try It Out Tuesday Challenge #41 for Susana's Custom Art & Card Design! This week I challenged the DT to use metal elements on their cards--could be charms, metallic paints, metallic papers, etc.! I chose to use a new Victoria Case for SCACD stamp called "Kringlet"--isn't she just a lil' cutie!! This sketch is this week's Mojo Monday Sketch #110--really liked this sketch this week!

My papers are by 3 Bugs In A Rug--aren't they fun?! I added some mini jingle bells to the bow and also one to end of her elf cap (I cut off the paper bell)! A few felt SU snowflakes and I stamped a sentiment from PTI onto my cutout hearts (heart nestabilities) and I used my Gold DecoColor pen to create a border around the white heart & add dots to!

I colored her with Copics and then added stardust Stickles to her dress, diamond glaze to her heart and eyes, and Gold Smooch paint to her dress trim and bell on her booties! Such a cutie don't ya think!

Now make sure & scroll down to see the rest of the DT's fabulous projects today!!

hugz,
Suzanne

TIOT~MeTaL MaNiA

Good morning!!!! This week's Try It Out Tuesday Challenge is~MeTaL MaNiA...and no, it doesn't have anything to do with 80s hair bands or electric guitars;o) Our challenge from Suzanne was to incorporate lots of metal into our cards and/or projects. This caused me to strain my brain a bit; but, that is what I like about these challenges...it makes me stretch a little creative muscle. So, I decided to create a gift set. It doesn't look like I used a great deal of metal, but I tried.

For the card, I added metal beads and jewelry spacers, adhesive metal half pearls and metal snowflake brads that are painted white. The image is Winter from the newest Victoria Case for SCACD Collection titled Winter Wonderland. Isn't she sweet and elegant? Actually, every stamp in this set is phenomenal!!! As I have said so many times before...this is my most favorite stamp set EVER!!! I also love using Flower Soft for the trim on her coat...SO FUN!!! On this card, I used Polar White Flower Soft...I love the dimension it adds with a delicate touch of sparkle. I also used the fabulous sketch from this week's Friday Sketchers Challenge #75, which was designed by the mega-talented and awe-inspiring Claudia.

For the altered notepad, I added a metal flower charm, another metal snowflake brad and a binder clip that is partially composed of metal. The band-aid tin is metal, and I added some metal beads and jewelry spacers along with one teeny, tiny adhesive metal half pearl.
I am sure you will find much better metal creations from my fabulously talented DT sisters!!! If I realized one thing...I don't have many metal stampin' toys:o} I suppose I should work on that. I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday!!!! Thank you so very much for stopping by:o)

Hugs!
Carolyn

TIOT # 41

Tuesday is here with a new challenge for the SCACD DT! Today we were to use metal on our cards.
Today I chose the wonderful Santa and Friends stamp from the Victoria Case for SCACD - Winter Wonderland Collection, colored it with Prismacolor pencils, cut him out with Nestabilities dies. Found this velvet ribbon and golden buckle in my stash, and I think it suited the card very well. Plus there are 7 brads and 3 metal snowflakes on my card, think I did pretty OK on the challenge...

TIOT Metal Musings

Today's TIOT for Susana's Custom Art and Card Designs was a "Metal Musings" challenge and here's my card using this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #41: I used the super cute Cocoa Puff stamp from the Victoria Case Winter Wonderland Collection and she's so fun to color! For my "metal musing" I used a sheet of pewter that I ran through my Cuttlebug using an embossing folder. For added "bling" I accented with Diamond Glaze on the peppermint stick, Stickles and Smooch. I even Smooched the Liquid Applique! I love Smooch because the fine sponge tip allows for coverage even in the most narrow spots.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: SCACD Cocoa Puff

Ink: StazOn black

Paper: K & Company Hannah pad, SU Real Red cs

Accessories: Art Emboss Medium Pewter, Diamond Glaze, Liquid Applique, Stickles, Smooch

Try It Out Tuesday #41 - Metal Musings!

Did you ever feel just a little sassy? Well, that's how I was feeling today and I decided to add a little bit of pizazz to my day. Our oh so talented Design Team Leader, Suzanne, over at Follow Your Heart, for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design, challenged us to use meal musings on our cards so while packing up my stuff to move this week, I found some metal photo corners and decided to use them and this is what I came up with:

Oh, I love me some Rubber Romance! I've always loved Melanie and her shopping bags and thought I'd send her out shopping for some Halloween. I colored her with copics and added some Smooch, Stickles and Diamond Glaze to her and I love this Eerie paper from BasicGrey. I thought it was perfect for her and her holiday shopping spree!

Doesn't she just look fabulous? I added some Prima Flowers with spacers and stickles and let her be on her way home. I'd say she's got some pretty good candy and a great Halloween costume in one of those bags, what about you?

Now head on over to Follow Your Heart and look at what my fabulously talented Design Team buddies have to share with you. You're never disappointed when you go over there!

Card Ingredients:

TIOT41 - Metal Musings

It's Tuesady!! Do you love it?! We have another fantastic Try It Out Tuesday challenge from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design for you today! This week's challenge (TIOT41) is called Metal Musings - Suzanne wanted to see the metallic tools (Smooch, Creative Inspirations Paints, etc.) and the metal embellishments (brads, clips, charms, the works!).

I first chose my main image. I decided to pull out another of the Special Edition Ornament Collection by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD images -- this is called Surprise. I LOVE her hair!! When I grow up I so totally want Elisabeth Bell hair. ;-)

I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on PTI white cardstock and colored with Copic markers. After she was colored up, I cut and matted her and added my first metal pieces - silver brads on the main image. I set her aside and worked on the rest of the card. Patterned paper is from Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses. The card base is PTI Sweet Blush painted over with Fairy Dust Inspirations Paint to give it that SUPER SHIMMER! You can catch some of the background shimmer in the top left corner of the photo. I just painted it onto the entire card base, let it dry, and then assembled the rest of the card. The silver sentiment frame is from a hardware kit.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope your Tuesday is a good one! Play along with us if you have time, how could you not love getting out the glitz and metal??

TIOT #41- Metal Musings

Our Try It Out Tuesday challenge this week is Metal Musings! Use metallic products/embellishments on your project (Smooch, Inspiration Paints, metal craft sheets, brads, eyelets, charms, etc).
I still am just in love with the latest release of Victoria Case for SCACD, The Winter Wonderland Collection, so I chose BFF's to work with today.
I can't remember where I saw this technique that I've been using lately of sponging the edges while the image is still in the nestibilities, but where ever I saw it, I love it!! (so thank you whomever gave me the idea!)
I guess I'm still thinking in terms of CAS (clean and simple) as this card qualifies but I just love how the adorable image stands out!
I also think I sort of lost track of the challenge as I was creating! LOL! Hopefully the team will forgive me as I didn't use much "metal" but I did use Smooch on the bells and the Primas Card Jewelry was just too perfect for this card so maybe it'll count!

LET IT SNOW

Good Morning to Everyone !! I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend.

Our challenge this week for TIOT was Metal Musingl. It could be brads, eyelets, charms or anything metal. I love to use charms so it is a great challenge for me.

Doesn't this image make you want it to snow so you can go out and play or just take your dog for a walk? The first snow is always so refreshing and glistening.

This image is from the Victoria Case "Winter Wonderland Collection" for SCACD. It is called Winter. She is so happy she makes you want to smile !! The stamps in this collection are really awesome. Check them out, they are different than just your ordinary Christmas stamps.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Forever Friends
- Christmas
PaperPlay - Favorite Embellishment
Three Clovers Designs #36 - Sketch
Daring Cardmakers - 5 Favorite Things - Charm, ribbon, flowersoft, rhinestones, punches
BasicGrey Challenge Week #6 - Color combo - Green, Red, Blue

I stamped and heat embossed the image and colored her with Copics. I used the Polar White Flower soft around her jacket and the ground. I added a little Doodlebug White glitter to FS before I applied it. It makes it glisten so nicely. I used an EK success snowflake punch on the background layer and put little rhinestones in the middle of each snowflake. Now, here is a cool thing. The snowflake charm was actually pewter and I painted it with Gold Shimmerz paint and applied a little stickles to it and added the rhinestone. To get the perfect bow, I used "Bow Easy" which you can get at Susana's store.

The snowflakes on the background paper is embossed and has glitter. The camera only picked up a little. Other than that, the inside is pretty simple. I stamped a few snowflakes and sponged a little and that's it.

Be sure to check out all the other DT samples. You can check them out here.

I appreciate you stopping by. Just a reminder, I will be posting blog candy on the 1st for a drawing on the 10th.

Metal Musing

and that's the name for this weeks Try it out Tuesday set by our sweet Suzanne.
She wants us to use metal on our projects. It could be brads, embellies, eylets, smooch.....well - the sky is the limit ;-)

I decided to make a fun and easy gift bag. I love doing these - but it was such a long time since I actually did one. It's so nice to be able to make a gift bag out of one sheet of paper - don't you agree. I got the tutorial a long time ago from Angie Juda - you find it here. Still loving it.

So for my DP I chose Eskimo Kisses - yes - I can't get enough of that paper :-)
Then I added heart eylets in silver and closed the gift bag with some blue ribbon that I found in my stash.

I coloured Winter from the VC Winter Wonderland release with my copics. Added some Polar White flower soft on her coat. I must say - I really love the effect that the Polar White gives your project. It really looks like the real thing.
Then I used 3d gloss and sprinkled Sparkly fluff (Baby boy blue) on the ground to highlight the snow. I used smooch to highlight the hearts on her shoes and the hearts on the puppy scarf.

Added Country Elegance Blue flowers with metal embellies in the center. Could not resist to also add 2 of my Prima Jewelry as well :-) I know that they are not metals -but I picked the one's with the metal colours ;-)

Well - I hope this inspired you to try to make this gift bag and also - how to use some of your metal products at home.

Have a great week and make sure that you check the rest of the DT creations. I am sure I will!

Table time with Alicia

Happy Tuesday everyone!
It's time for another Try it out Tuesday. This time Suzanne wants us to show something for our tables - it could be place setting cards, menus, favors, centerpieces......Well - it's all up to your imagination.

I decided to ink up one of my very first illustrations - Alicia. When I first drew her I only pictured her wearing red. Well - after having the Eskimo Kisses DPs - I've changed my mind. I think she look good in all colours :-) I hope you agree with me.

So for my project I decided to create a little something for a girly-party. So I stamped Alicia 3 times and coloured her in the Eskimo Kisses colours with my copics.

First of course I needed to make a little card for the party invitation. So here you have her.
I added 3d gloss on some parts of the images, Polar White flowersoft on her coat, smooch on her little lantern. Added ribbon from stash and the Eskimo Kisses buttons.

Then I made a tag/or a water bottle holder - the tutorial is from Angie Juda a long time ago. I did not have any chocolate at home to attach behind Alicia - but that's what you could do as an extra treat. I also punched out some snowflakes and added a Bella Bauble in the center.
This could then go as the place setting card - also a way to find out if the people you invite remember what their invitation card looked like...hihi...... (Also - so sorry for not having a nice bottle to place her on - I got to use one of hubby's beer bottles.....hm....not for little girls though.....)

As a small favor I created this little notepad. Used my coasters (that I've ordered from Angie Juda) and covered them with the DP, sanded the edges and then attached the ribbon, the post-it-notes, snowflake and Alicia. This is just a little something for the guest to bring with her home as a small memory of the party.

Well - I hope you like this and make sure that you check out the rest of the DTs creations.

TIOT # 40 ~ Table Time

The Try It Out Tuesday challenge for the SCACD's DT today is Table Time, to make something for the holiday table. I made a place setting card and a bottle tag.
I used two of the totally wonderful images from the Winter Wonderland Collection by Victoria Case for SCACD. Colored with Prismacolor pencils, and used Nestabilities dies, to cut out different parts to create this small set.

On the bottle tag I've used the cute image called Kringlet.

On the place setting card I used fabulous Cocoa Puff,
I cut her off from her fence.

Time for a New Try It Out Tuesday!!

Good morning!!! We have a fun and challenging Try It Out Tuesday for you this week:o) This week's theme is Table Time!!! In all honesty, I had no idea what I was going to make for this...and this challenge terrified me!!! I am a very simple person in real life...I suppose my interior decorating style is the minimalist approach. I don't like lots of stuff on my walls and not one to have very many knick-knacks...just the bare necessities. Call it the OCD in me shining through in all its glory. So, when we were asked to create decor to be placed upon the dinner table/coffee table, I literally went into a state of panic!! My dinner table has a bowl of fruit on it and four placemats; my coffee table has the universal remote and occasionally my laptop...no inspiration in those places. I finally decided to create some fun items with the Glass Etching technique from SCS. I have uploaded a bunch of photos, but it was extremely difficult to capture a decent photo...especially since I am no photographer. Hahaha! I hope you will be able to get a general idea of this week's projects. So sorry for the bad, bad pictures!

Here are two, simple ornaments. The clear one was actually red when I started; but as I was scraping the embossed design off, the red coloring came off right along with it. I had no idea it wasn't really red glass! Talk about a major bummer! Oh well, it'll have to do;o) For the clear ornament, I used the sweet stamp Kringlet; and for the green ornament, I used the precious stamps Santa and Friends.

Here is the candy dish. I used the fabulous snowflakes from Winter Wonderland by Victoria Case for Susana's Custom Art & Card Design. These darling snowflakes are part of the complete set and cannot be purchased separately.

Since most of my Christmas gifts are baked goods, I thought it would be cool to etch a glass plate. This way, I have a one-of-a-kind holiday themed serving dish to put the cookies, breads, cakes, and/or brownies on, and it doesn't hurt my holiday budget. The plate was purchased for $1 at the Dollar Tree. The recipient can reuse it if they wish, but it won't hurt my feelings too badly if it were thrown in the bottom of a cabinet never to be seen again.

Well, that about does it for me!! I hope your Tuesday is spectacular!!!! Thanks for stopping by and sharing a part of it with me:o)

Hugs!!!
Carolyn

My SCACD winter table setting

Ok, first off I'd like to say I got inspired by the wonderfully talented Kim Teasdale after seeing her Butterfly Explosion Box and then got goosebumps after seeing all these gorgeous boxes over at Magic-Boxes.com. The designs are breathtaking and inspiring!!! You really must take a look!

I wanted to try the same technique, but instead of a box I wanted to use it for today's TIOT challenge of creating something for a holiday table. I made this place setting ensemble featuring the very stylish Winter from the recently released Victoria Case for SCACD Winter Wonderland Collection. My hubby's niece, Jocelyn, was my inspiration...a true girl, but not girly. That's why I went with the soft blues and muted olive for my color scheme:

I was able to make Winter stand up by adhering sturdy cardstock to her legs/shoes and cutting a couple of slits to to thread them through and securing them underneath. I cut the strips of acetate longer so they would fan out more and spread around the plate.
I also made a little pocket to hold the silverware (no knife as you can tell...this is for the children's table). The little snowflakes on this pocket and the ones surrounding Winter is only available on the full sheet of 7 images of the Winter Wonderland Collection. Naturally, I'd create different place settings for the boys :). I love holiday festivities, decorating and gift giving!!! It really is the MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR!

There's a blog hop happening on Oct. 22 so come back for more fun and candy!

Table Ensemble Recipe:

Stamp: SCACD Winter by Victoria Case

Ink: StazOn black, Versamark

Paper: Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses, SU cs (Old Olive, Brocade Blue), Gina K Pure Luxury white cs, watercolor paper

Accessories: Grafix Clear Acetate, Kaisercraft Pearls, Liquid Applique, white ep, Bow-Easy, white organza ribbon, watercolor markers

Try It Out Tuesday #40- Table Tops!

I love to look at a gorgeous set table. There's something to be said for elegance. For our Try It Out Tuesday over at Follow Your Heart, our Design Team blog for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design, our super talented leader, Suzanne, challenged us to create something for our table tops. Here's what I came up with:

Now I'm not one for formal, so I had to kind of feel my way through this challenge. I wanted something smaller so I pulled out my Fairy Friends from Pink Cat Studios and went to town.

I colored this cutie penguine brown and turned it into my fall version of a partridge and added Stickles to his little wings. I added a Dress Up Petal to the end of his wand and ran my SU topnote cutout through my cuttlebug to give it a bit of texture. The background paper is from the Indian Summer pack from BasicGrey and I added some buttons to the corners and ran Scrapper's Floss through the middles. I am pretty pleased with how it came out.

And here's a close up of my penguin turned partridge! I love this little cutie!

Now go on over to our store blog, Follow Your Heart, and take a look at the great creations my Design Team buddies have come up with to grace your table. I can't wait to share them with you! So tell me, what's your favorite table top accessory? I'd love to hear what you do.

Card Ingredients:

Fairy Friends by Pink Cat Studios
, copics, Stickles, Diamond Glaze, buttons, Scrapper's Floss, MS Fancy Lattice Edger and branch and leaf punch, cuttlebug folders, Indian Summer Paper pack from BasicGrey, Dress Up Petals

TIOT40 - Winter Wonderland Table Time

Welcome to this week's Try it out Tuesday from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design! This week our challenge is "Table Time" - create something for the holiday table {fall or winter} -- keyword: TIOT40!

You can see my table in full in the picture above. I used several images from the brand new exclusive stamp collection from the store called Victoria Case for SCACD - Winter Wonderland. Loving these sweet winter images! Even more so now that it's back in the 60s outside here, heehee, since I am not a fan of the actual cold weather! I used Kringlet and BFFs for the candles, Cocoa Puff for the menu and the snowflakes for the napkin garnish, along with a sentiment from the original Susanaments sentiment set. The snowflakes are only available if you purchase the full sheet of stamps, but remember, Susana offers a HUGE discount for doing that, 25% off!! It doesn't get any better than that.

All of the images were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers. Here are some closeups of the individual pieces so you can see the details:

The stamps are available now at the SCACD web store so head over and snag yours! Susana has the best customer service around and the fastest shipping I've ever seen! You won't be disappointed. Don't forget that big savings for getting the whole sheet at once. You know you'll eventually need them all anyway...so why wait?!
