3 French Hens

I absolutely love Christmas! I love decorating, shopping, getting into the mood and enjoy every single minute of the holidays. These sweet ornaments from the Special Edition Ornament Collection from Elisabeth Bell for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design are just so delightful and fun to work with! I think everyone should have them! They're now available so go get your Special Collection before they're all gone!

3 French Hens from the Special Edition Ornament Collection from Elisabeth Bell for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design just called to me! This sweet face so reminds me of the girls when they were young and they would get all dressed up for the Christmas festivities. There's nothing as sweet as a little girl in her Christmas best!

She's colored with distressed inks and I made her using a tutorial I found here for this recessed window card. This Bo Bunny paper was great to work with because the colors were so soft. Her hair ribbons and the band at the bottom of her dress is touched with some luscious Smooch and I added some Stickles and Glossy Accents to her dress and to the holly branches and berries and touched up the bottom with a bit of this gorgeous Polar White Flower Soft. I absolutely love this! I'll get to have the effect of snow and not have to shovel it this year!

Here is a side view of the card. I am having a great time finishing off the inside of my cards lately. I'm not quite ready to show the entire thing, but give me a couple of days and I'll be all set!

I hope you enjoy my first glimpse of the holidays! Can't wait for them to get here!

Added the sentiment from SU, some blings, flowers, ribbon and then the heart charm.
Wanted to keep the layout clean and simple. Hope you like it!

Fun Is Good!!

Good Morning!!! I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday and an extra special weekend ahead of you!!! Today's post is going to be somewhat short. I just realized yesterday that I have to get my license renewed:o} We all know what a pain it can be at DMV, so I am going to try and get there as early as possible. I am hoping it will be quicker if I get there when they first open for business. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed that I am right in my logic:o)

Today's card uses the awesome sketch by the uber talented Nikki Fairbairn at Sketch Saturday #69. I am also going to submit this to Creative Card Crew Challenge #29, which is to decorate the inside of your card. I used the precious image, Young Alexa, from the Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Stamp Co.~ Sampler Edition #1. If you have never seen the stamps from this incredible collection, you realy do not know what you are missing. Each and every stamp is completely adorable...hey, they were created by Elisabeth Bell...could they be anything but adorable?;o) I colored Young Alexa and her sweet bears with Prismacolor markers, added Diamond Glaze and Stickles for a bit of *pop*, cut the image out and popped it up on dimensionals. The colorful DP is from Basic Grey's Lemonade paper pad, and I absolutely love all the patterns and colors in it. To finish it off, I added some flowers and ribbon. Voila! C'est fini! Don't forget about ALL the FUN starting HERE on September 26th...sneakie peeks of the new minis from Victoria Case and Elisabeth Bell PLUS scrumptious blog candy!!! Then, on the 29th, the release of these awesome, one-of-a-kind sets!!! Woo! Hoo!! I feel the FuN coming on:o)

Okay, I am going to head on out of here...I have to get myself ready for the wonderful new driver's license mugshot...I mean photo. Don't even know why I bother with the hair and the makeup...you know no matter what you do, the picture generally comes out bad, bad, BAD:o} Have a great Friday and an even better weekend!!!

Hugs!
Carolyn

Try It Out Tuesday #37--Snow Birds!!

Try It Out Tuesday #37

Hiya Stampin' Friends!! Today is Tuesday which means it's another "Try It Out Tuesday" for Susana's Custom Art & Card Design store! I challenged the DT this week to use Flower Soft on their cards/projects which is always fun! I used one of the fabulous Christmas Tree stamps by Lockhart Stamp Co. "Snow Tree w/ Birds", colored it with Copics & then added Polar White Flower Soft to it for a wintery snow feel!

The papers are new from Basic Grey's "Eskimo Kisses" and I LOVE them--they pair up fab with PTI's cs as well (aqua mist, sweet blush, new leaf)! The layout is this week's Mojo Monday Sketch #105 which was so fun to do! The sentiment is from PTI as well & then I used Kaiser pearls (in rose) and Bella Baubles (oyster) to line the bottom & corners! The double bow was done w/ my Bow Easy--gosh how I love that thing!

Here's a close-up of the image---Polar White Flower Soft on the tree and around the oval nestability frame! The berries are made w/ red Liquid Pearls and silver Stickles on the star! The Polar White FS is a little bit different in texture than the regular flower soft, a lil' thicker & more shimmery--so very pretty IRL!

Now make sure & scroll down to see all the DT's Fabulous Flower Soft Creations today!! And break out some of that flower soft you have & use it on some projects today!

hugz,
Suzanne

Spreading some Flower Soft love!

Today's Try It Out Tuesday #37 (TIOT) from Susana's Custom Art and Card Designs was a Flower Soft challenge and I wanted to try something different. I had a 4x4 cardstock pack with adhesive backing that's been sitting in my craft room for a few months. I decided to punch out some butterflies and press them into some Flower Soft and got this using the MOJO105 sketch:
Card Recipe:

Stamp: SCACD Tea For Two

Ink: StazOn black

Paper: SU cs (Soft Sky, Certainly Celery), Prismatic Pink Pack, watercolor paper

Accessories: Flower Soft (Sweet Pea, Ivory), CB Swirls ef, Tim Holtz Idea-ology Design Ruler, paper piercer, Dew Drops, Crystal Stickles, Diamond Glaze, watercolor markers

Visit the rest of the SCACD DT blogs to see what fabulous things they created using Flower Soft! Then, make sure to check out SCACD's collection of Flower Soft, especially the new Polar White and Autumn Mix.

GREAT NEWS!!! SCACD will be having be releasing new Victoria Case AND Elisabeth Bell mini sets on Sept. 29. You can get sneak peeks starting Sept. 26 at the Follow Your Heart blog along with BLOG CANDY!!!

This is a short post since I have to tend to a flooded laundry room while waiting for help to arrive!

TIOT37, SC246 - Snowy Days Are Coming!

Welcome to this week's Try it out Tuesday from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design! This week our challenge is to use Flower Soft on our projects (keyword: TIOT37)! I'm fairly new to Flower Soft but I am loving it! I got the new Polar White in my last order from Susana - not only is it a great addition to flower bouquets, but it makes fabulous snow! As soon as I saw it in person I knew I had to use it to make snow at least once. It already has some snowy shimmer to it, but I added a bit more glitter, just to be safe! ;)

I have missed all my sweet images while I was rehabbing my hand, LOL. So I just had to ink up one of the cutie pies from the Victoria Case for SCACD Hearts & Hugs Collection 2! This is Autumn. I went to "the old standby" for a sketch today, I used this week's Sketch Challenge from Splitcoast (SC246). Here's the sketch:

I started off by stamping her in Memento Tuxedo Black ink (omitting the leaves) and coloring with Copic markers. I gave her nice, rosy cheeks and freckels - couldn't resist that! I paper pieced her tights (too cold for bare legs up here in the great white north)! Then I laid down the snow by her feet - she's having such fun she even kicked up a big clump in front of her boot (obviously, she doesn't have to shovel). Then I added some Shamrock Green Flower Soft to the band of her fuzzy hat. Lots of Kaisercraft Pearls in the corners and she's ready for winter!

A BIG announcement from Susana's Custom Art Card Design too!! The September release is coming up fast!! Next Tuesday the 29th - Susana will be releasing TWO new mini sets by two fabulous artists!! One is from Elisabeth Bell and the other from Victoria Case. All I can tell you is they are absolutely fun and fabulous The store blog Follow Your Heart will have blog candy with sneak peeks beginning on September 26th and running through 11 PM EST on the 28th. Hop on over to check it out. On the 29th you'll get to see cards and projects made with these new stamps on all the DT blogs and the store blog. These new releases will be available at the SCACD Store for purchase at 9:00 AM EST on September 29th so mark your calendar!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you're inspired to try Flower Soft, if you haven't already, or to pull it out if you have some on hand!

Crazy in Love

Good Morning !! I am crazy in love with the Polar White Flower Soft. It is a different texture than the regular flower soft. Suzanne challenged us this week to use Flower Soft. I kinda went overboard. Join us for TIOT #37.

I was trying to capture the texture and look of the new Polar White Flower Soft. It looks like real snow. Of course, I had to have more sparkle so I added a little glitter to the Flower Soft.

Before I tell you about the card, I want to tell you about the Bow Easy I purchased from SCACD. It is wonderful. This is the first bow I made with it, you can make a single loop, but I wanted a double loop. Suzanne, our DT leader, has a wonderful video on her blog on how to use it. It is really easy. Best of all, it is only $5.00.

The card is pretty simple because the DP is so busy. The image is a Serendipity Stamp from SCACD. The snowflakes on the DP are embossed and glitzy. The image is heat embossed and colored with Copics. The broom, pockets and star on the birdhouse are colored with Spica glitterpens. The balls and leaves are glossed and a little stickles on the scarf and hat band. The snow flakes are punched with two different MS punches with a rhinestone in the center.

The paper is so pretty I really didn't want to cover it up. If you click on the picture it will enlarge and you can see the tips of the snowflake. Again I used the MS punches. The snowflake was cut with my Cricut.

Please go check out the rest of the DT samples. They are amazing.

Thank you for stopping by. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Don't forget I will be posting blog candy Sept. 30th and draw on October 10th.

Try It Out Tuesday #37 - Autumn!

Get ready, stampers, because Susana's Custom Art and Card Design is having a release coming up and it's going to be such a treat for us to all play with! Find all the details at Follow Your Heart!

Today Suzanne challenged us design team members for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design to create a card using an autumn theme and to try and add a bit of Flower Soft or Polar Soft to our cards. I went with the autumn theme and Autumn Flower Soft. I've loved this Sweetie, Autumn from the Hearts and Hugs 2 Collection from Victoria Case for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design since I've seen it! I think she's just so adorable and I know she would be perfect for this challenge.

She's done with Prismacolor pencils and OMS and I cut her out with my nestabilities and used some gorgeous paper from My Mind's Eye. I added some rhinestones and Stickles and Glaze Pen to the flowers and her adorable scarf and hat. I love my Petaloo flowers and thought the button with Scrapper's floss would add a great touch.

Victoria Case illustrates some of the cutest faces! I love their eyes. They look so life like when you add a bit of color and some Glossy Accents. Just love them!

Thought I'd show you what the leaves look like up front with the Autumn Flower Soft around it. I love this mix and think it's just gorgeous!

I love corner punches and thought I'd let you see what the inside corner of this care looks like.

Make sure to stop by Susana's store blog to check out my other Design Team buddies creations. I am proud every Tuesday to present work for you with this wonderful and extremely talented group of ladies!

Card Ingredients:

Autumn from Hearts & Hugs 2 Collection from Victoria Case for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design, Prismacolor Pencils, Paper from My Mind's Eye, nestabilities, ribbon, Stickles, Glossy Accents, Glaze pen, Shimmerz Spritz, Flower Soft, EK Success Corner punch

TIOT # 37 ~ Lily, Tweety and a Snowman

Try It Out Tuesday with Flower Soft, yes, that's today's challenge for us at SCACD's DT.
A bit embarrasing to admit this, but it is the very first time I use Flower Soft! It was fun, and I'll do it more often from now on!

The cute image is from the Lily and Tweety sheet by Pink Cat Studio from SCACD. I colored with Prismacolor pencils first, and then put Polar White Flower Soft on the snowman. It sparkles, but I added a little bit more glitter.
Smiley from millan.net

The sentiment is by Catslife Press. Used Nestabilities dies to cut out both image and sentiment. I put on some snowflakes made with a Martha Stewart punch, and metal snowflakes and Kaisercraft pearls.

Lily, Billy and Try It Out Tuesday #37

Good Morning!!! It is time for a new challenge at Try It Out Tuesday:o) This week, the lovely and mega-talented Suzanne Dean has challenged us to incorporate Flower Soft into our creations...and LOTS of it!!!

I had two different ideas floating around in my head, but I had a difficult time choosing exactly which one I wanted to do. So, to end my deliberations, I decided to do both. For my first card, I stamped the sweet image from Pink Cat Studio's~Lily and Billy Winter Stamps. I stamped these cuties with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Prismacolor markers. I added Diamond Glaze and Stickles for sparkle, Liquid Applique for a bit of dimension to Lily's coat, and Shimmerz Baby's Breath Spritz for a hint of shimmer in their snow angels. Then, to satisfy the challenge requirements, I loaded this card down with Flower Soft Polar White. I wanted them to look submerged in the snow...just as they would be in real life:o) I have got to tell you, this Flower Soft is FABULOUS!!! It is part of the Diamond Range, and micro fine glitter is already added to it:o) Talk about convenience!!! Plus, it is soooo easy to use and really does add the feel of "winter" to your cards. For me, this will definitely be a major component in this year's Christmas and winter-themed creations!! Thank you Susana for filling this prescription;o)

Above is a closeup of the card. Can you see all that fluff? Isn't it the coolest? I think so. I know you have heard this before; but, how did I ever get away without this awesome product for such a LONG time?!? Oh, please forgive the shadows in the photograph:o} I took the picture at night, and my lamp was too bright...giving the white Flower Soft a yellowish tint. In real life, It is definitely Polar White and glistens like snow.

For my second project, I created a shaker card. I used the same stamp set as the first card, but I colored Lily and Billy with Prismacolor pencils, OMS, and blending stumps. Again, I used Diamond Glaze and Stickles...what can I say...I am a total sucker for sparkle and shine:o) Does that make me a girlie girl? Here, the Flower Soft Polar White was added as the filling inside the shaker. I thought it would look cool to have the illusion of falling/fallen snow. The card's layout is from this week's Crazy 4 Challenges sketch. Also, both cards fit Allsorts Challenge #19, which was Snowflakes in September. I really like the way this card turned out...I think it is one of my favorites...probably because it is my first attempt at creating a shaker card. I also love the Wisteria DP by Basic Grey. It is one of my favorite paper pads!

I suppose I have taken up enough of your time with this super long post. Sorry:0} I just want to mention one more thing...don't forget about all the fun that will be going on at the SCACD Store Blog on the 26th thru the 28th...sneak peeks of the new Elisabeth Bell and Victoria Case minis AND the incredible chance to win both of these one-of-a-kind stamps.

Thanks for stopping by and have a totally terrific Tuesday!!!

Hugs!

Carolyn

Danni in a bed of FlowerSoft

And now for my Try It Out Tuesday Post... This week we were challenged to use FlowerSoft on our cards. I used this sweet Elisabeth Bell image - Danni. I colored her with Copic markers and used my pastels to stencil some clouds behind her. For the bottom die cut, I used the Spades pendant, then I cut Danni out with the Labels #4 die. I used some @You Copic glitter pens on the butterflies, and some sugar sparkly fluff for the dandelion seeds. Danni is standing in a bed of Fuschia FlowerSoft.

Here's a close up where you can see the sparkly fluff and the glittery butterflies!! Oh... and those ribbon roses....I got a lot of emails about how I made them on my last post. And here they are again. I just got a new iPod Nano with the video camera, so I'm hoping to have a little video tutorial on how to make these real soon...so check back.

Try It Out Tuesday #37

Our challenge this week was to use Flower Soft on our creations, especially Polar White or the new Autumn.

I choose to use the Polar White on my card today as I thought this seal would look so adorable in a nice coat of Polar White!! (and hurray for me, I remembered to turn off the ceiling fan before applying the flower soft!)

supplies:
card size: 4 1/4 x 5 1/2
stamps: Serendipity Seal,
paper: Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses,
ink: Memento Tuxedo Black,
others: Polar White Flower Soft, copics, Creative Inspirations Winter Frost paint, Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses buttons, SU mat pack, pink scrappers floss, CM rotary trimmer with wavy blade, Rock Candy Stickles,

Flower soft madness

This week Suzanne wants us to use a lot of flower soft on our cards/projects. Well - I can tell you - I had flower soft everywhere in the house after finishing this card *lol*.

Wanted to use one of the very first stamps that I purchased from Susana. Well -I think actually he's responsible for our friendship ;-) He's called Snow Person and I think he is just adorable.

Coloured him with my copics and cut him out with my nesties. Then I added flower soft on bits and parts of the image and some stickles. Created a "snow charm" using my stickles. Used a flower wire to attach all the flower soft on and then attached the "snow charm" on that.

Distressed all of my Basic Grey Paper - and yes - I am really getting into that as well *lol*.

Hope you like it and would like to play with us. If so - please use the keyword "TIOT 37" when you upload your project on SCS or PCP.

Kram and check out the rest of the DTs work.

Rebecka

Have you had a great weekend? Hope so. We had an amazing sunny and wonderful Fall day yesterday, but today it's been grey and rainy. Luckily that give me some time to create without feeling guilty ;-)

Just wanted to share a card with you featuring Rebecka. Coloured her with my copics and I have noticed that the new pale one's that Susana has - as a bundle of 12 - are perfect to use when you want to blend your "regular" copics. Actually - I have started to prefer that from using the blender pen for the colours that match together.I wanted to make a card only using brown and pink, but a little green had to be in there too.
DPs from SU and Basic Grey . Wanted to keep the layout very clean and simple - so I only added choc chip ribbon from SU, flowers and baubles. Used my Martha Stewart border punch that I got from my supertalented and generous friend Marlene.

Did not add any sentiment, since it could be used for a girl that like to become a teacher or for someone that actually is a teacher or someone that just like's school or being outdoors playing with her pets.

Wish you a great Sunday and hope that you stay tuned - because a little bird told Rebecka that Susana soon is up for some more fun. Well - can't tell you what - so you better be following this blog to make sure that you get the news first...hihi....

An Indian Summer!!

Hiya Friends! Today I have a fun fall card that gives me warm & fuzzy fall feeling's, hee hee! I LOVE the colors & patterns in the new Basic Grey "Indian Summer" papers--such pretty combo's & perfect for fall! The fabulous image is by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD "Rian" available HERE & she's colored with Copics to match the dp! I adorned the card with Prima Hydrangeas (in Sweet Pea & Woodlands), Prima Velvet Leaves, ribbon & Bella Baubles (in Lemonade & Merlot).

Up close & personal with "Rian"--I added some stickles to the flowers/hearts on her clothes & flowers on the ground. I used the NEW "Inspiration Paints" (fabulously fun to use) in Copper on the ground, Sage on the leaves & Light Purple on the background surrounding her! They leave a great shimmer & are nice & easy to blend (I use my Fantastix's or my fingers)! Hope you love her as much as I do!!?

hugz,
Suzanne

Wanna Play

Get your sunglasses on to view this card. Here are some friends on Game Night playing cards and having fun.. This is another image from the Victoria Case Series #2 for SCACD.
This week Suzanne challenged us to amke a Triangular Fold Card. I have wanted to make one of these for a long time, but for some reason or another I kept putting it off. It was so much fun. The stamp really fit in well with the papers and was fun to color. It is heat embossed and colored with Copics. There is a little shimmerez on the butterfly wings and socks, crystal effects on the grass and grasshopper, and then stickles added for the final touch. You can click on any of the pictures and enlarge them for viewing.
If you would like to know how to make this card it is on the Scor-Pal's site. I have changed it a little to make my card 5/12" square. Also, each triangle piece is stitched. The little red flowers are heat embossed and colored with Copics.

This is just another picture to show the folding.

Don't forget to check out the Follow Your Heart blog to see the other DT samples. They are amazing.

BE SURE AND CHECK OUT SUSANA'S CUSTOM ART AND CARD DESIGN FOR A NEW PRODUCT - INSPIRATION PAINT.

Thank you for stopping by. If you wish, please leave me a comment. Also, keep checking back - I will be having another blog candy the first couple of weeks in October.
