Happy Tuesday!!! I hope you had a wonderful Monday...mine started out rather blah, but it ended on a super high note:o) I will tell you more about that at a later date. Anyhoo, being that it is Tuesday, it is time for this week's Try It Out Tuesday Challenge. This week, Suzanne challenged us to create a fun notepad OR notebook/book cover. FUN stuff!!!! I have been totally enjoying all these three-dimensional projects, and I knew exactly what I wanted to create...because I just made one for my son's girlfriend as a back-to-school gift!! It matches the backpack set I made for last week's TIOT.I used one of Lauren Meader's awesome templates (All Boxed Up) to create this "Homework" planner; and with fall right around the corner, I had to use one of the adorable new stamps from the Hearts & Hugs Collection Series #2 by Victoria Case that is sold exclusively at Susana's Custom Art & Card Design. I l-o-v-e this darling stamp!!! She looks like she is having a ball skipping through those leaves:o)
I colored sweet Autumn with Prismacolor markers. For a touch of sparkle, I added Crystal Stickles to her hat and scarf as well as the pom-poms on her boots and the teeny-tiny heart on her sweater. She was cut out using the Classic Oval Nesties, And then the image was mounted onto a piece of contrasting paper that was cut out with the Scalloped Oval Nesties. A couple brown buttons and some ribbon from my stash seemes to be the only decorative element the cover needed...because Autumn is just too dang cute!!!! :o)
The patterned paper is from Martha Stewart's Classic Botanical 12x12 paper pad, and it is filled with double-sided papers in a plethora of beautiful patterns. Note to self: I gotta get more...just don't let hubby know...he already thinks I have a problem;o) Shhhh...between you and me--I do, but when it comes to pretty papers, I simply cannot help myself!! However, I know I am not alone...hee hee...which makes it easier to keep adding more and more to my "collection" and shopping cart. Okay, back to the project...there are four dividers within the side pocket because the kids here are on a 4x4 schedule. I figured she could jot down the homework assignment on the notepad, then stash it in front of/behind the appropriate tab. I used the Large Classic Circles and Scalloped Circles Nesties to create decorative tabs on each of the dividers, and I added buttons to the front of each tab. The pen has a rolled up piece of the brown DP in the barrel, so it would coordinate with the planner.
I really like the way this project came out...now I just have to figure out who to give it to...maybe I'll try and sell it...hmmmm...I gotta think on that one a bit. All I know is, I had a load of fun creating it!!! Thanks Suzanne for another spectacular challenge!!! Now, don't YOU want to take on Suzanne's challenge? If you do, don't forget to share it with us:o) We love seeing your creations with Susana's wonderful stamps!!! Plus, it wouldn't be very nice to keep your fabulous creations all to yourself...you know you always feel better when you share;o)Have a super Tuesday my paper crafting pals, and thanks for stopping by!!!
Hugs:o)
